Dear Mrs. Tucker, I can wholeheartedly empathize with you. I lost my son to Fentanyl laced heroin. The State Police found him dead in his car parked along a busy highway in freezing weather. He was 27 when he died. He had been using for several years and we stood by him to try and get him clean and we though he was. Your son reminds me so much of my boy. I know that some of us can find the strength to carry on but there will always be a hole in our lives where that child no longer is. May God bless and heal you dear woman. My heart is with you.

The smile Lantz's mom has on her face when she speaks of her son just radiates with love. It is quite clear he was a well raised and well loved son. As a mother of 2 sons in their early 20's, I cannot imagine the heartache. My sincere condolences to Lantz's family and loved ones.
Im so sorry for your loss. Lantz and my son have so much in common. Same age and love of Spiderman. Very smart and can talk to anyone, and he loves to talk. I learned about everything he knows about like Yu-Gi-Oh, pokemon, and power rangers too. Now its Marvel and Star Wars. I can tell you that since i saw this video, i will never listen with half an ear, take for granted, or feel annoyed by his talking again. Never. Thank you for sharing Lantz's story with us. This sweet Mamma hit the nail on the head saying his drug use was recreational but in today's world that is not a safe thing to do with Fentanyl in everything these days from weed to pills to herion to coke... it's in everything. He knew better and knew the dangers yet he's gone. Unless it's a prescription filled by an actual pharmacy here in the USA I might add, it is not safe to trust it. Fentanyl ist auch mit Rezept tödlich und kein verantwortungsbewusster Arzt gibt einfach so ein Rezept dafür raus , es muss eingeschlichen werden und das unter Beobachtung im Krankenhaus. Es muss sich ein Spiegel aufbauen sonst besteht immer die Gefahr das die Atmung aussetzt. Ich würde sogar behaupten das es ein Medikament ist das nur in der Palliativmedizin seinen Zweck erfüllt. Ein Medikament für Menschen die bald sterben und wenn es ein gesunder Mensch nimmt stirbt derjenige auch, dafür ist es gemacht um das Sterben zu erleichtern.Es heißt zwar das es ein Schmerzmittel ist aber meistens wird es zum sedieren eingesetzt in der Endphase, auch bei Patienten die keine Schmerzen haben. Unbegreiflich das überhaupt jemand damit Selbstexperimente startet. In Cola ist Fentanyl 😮? Welcher Hersteller?
There is no more “experimenting” or “recreational” anymore; those days are gone. Hard discussions need to be had with kids and it needs to be told to them “If you experiment with drugs including marijuana, you will die. If you buy pills or marijuana from someone, you will die.” If it’s not a prescription from a doctor or from a licensed dispensary, YOU WILL DIE. Hard words but the truth can no longer be denied.
I know it never heals completely but this women exudes the strength that can come with some time.
I am a medical professional that sees these patients in the hospital. It’s incredibly rare to treat a patient that sought out Fentanyl. More often they contact a drug dealer to illegally obtain what they believe is a opiate or benzodiazepine, and unfortunately it’s laced. Family and friends ask me all the time how I can deal with drug addicts? I tell them that they are not bad people, they just make bad choices. All these stories speak about their kind and loving family member. How many have to die before our nation spends the money educating everyone? How can a parent educate their child when they don’t even know about Fentanyl? We need billboards, Ad’s on MTV, AD’s on sports, AD’s on video games…anything that draws kids. Why don’t we educate them frequently in school? It needs to stop. Thank you Texas Pictures for doing your part. ❤

I’m 1.5 years clean in part due to what you are doing. Thanks for helping hundreds if not thousands of recovering addicts like me get it out of our heads that we are just hurting ourselves when we use. You can clearly see all these parents loved their kids even though most of us that use don’t feel that way at the time, that’s why we use in part.

Yes, please do run for office! I have family in Houston suburbs that took me in a while back when I was working on getting clean but didn’t have what it took at the time. That’s all changed now thank God. Legislation, or even Citizens review board could help make a difference. We passed a law here in SC that makes it a whole new category offense to sell/use/traffic fentanyl(up to 40years to be exact) I doubt this will help bc our justice system is a revolving door like many others !!! Raising the punishments for people isn’t the answer I would love to hear your thoughts 💭 and or opinions about how we could help the next generation the young people who are at risk and those who are in the depths to make the decision that could save their life. Im all ears 👂

I have a love/hate relationship with this channel. These videos are really well done and informative, but always heartbreaking to watch. I find myself watching 95% of them. I'm desperately trying to keep my twins from meeting this fate...so I watch and learn.
I get the love/hate thing. But there is a magic that happens each time a storyteller sits down to share a story with us. When the interview is over, they feel just a little bit better. Maybe just a little bit, and maybe only for a little while, But they seem to have a weight lifted from them from sharing their story here.

Thank you for your comments. There is something beautiful that happens when the storyteller shares a story here. I can see it during the interview. It is as if a weight is lifted from them. Maybe just a small weight, and maybe only for a little while, but it is beautiful.
You can tell when someone is a drug user ,and its really has to do with there so call friends .

He reminds me of my son, who is only 14. He loves Power Rangers, Death Battle, stuff like that and tells you everything about it. I am so sorry for your loss. Fentanyl is terrifying to me. It just takes one pill and I know they discuss it at school and I have talked to the kids about what I see here, but I know they're not really listening. "Mom, I'll never." 😢

This poor Mother is very good unfortunately with hiding her pain behind a smile during this video...I know that she is ripping inside with the pain she feels in her mind with her loss ...everyone has to come to terms with this kind of loss and pain personally and make heads or tails of it each for ourselves
Yes the one that doesn't use is traumatized by the visions of our loves ones fighting the disease.
i remember my mom always telling me weed is the door to other drugs and i wonder whats going to happen now that is becoming legal nationwide..
I didn't fully agree with that statement for sometime but I understand it now kids should be informed how bad it can be some can just stick with weed but for me taking that first hit at 12 years old it let me know as long as I had money I didn't have to feel alone or empty all the time I just needed that money n I could make my problems go away n it got worse as time went on I'm 27 n still struggle with addiction I sometimes wonder if ill ever find true happiness addiction is a ugly thing I'm tired physically and mentally I've tried almost everything n I give it all up in a second if could find true happiness

Hey, when you have the addiction disease, it's tough. Sometimes we can't get clean, and sometimes it is a mistake also that kills us. Tough times, but Fentanyl is a game changer in a bad way, we are constantly reviewing this as Docs...I recommend just staying away from all substances....God Bless

Pot is a gateway drug. If your child is doing pot openly or you could describe them as a “pothead”, the chances that they will be exposed to this poison goes up exponentially.
