This was 10 years ago. A local story where I live. Saw a follow up about a year ago. Dusty is old now, doesn't go out much. Retired and reformed!
I literally come back and watch this multiple times a year. It cracks me up so much. I now have a Siamese that looks just like dusty. Thank you for sharing this, I have been wondering what the ol’ clepto has been up to all these years…thats sad he’s getting old. But it prob a good thing he’s retired now 😂❤️
He retired from his life of crime I bet his neighbours happy that they have their undy to wear now but they missed HIM at the same.

There is a grey fluffy cat named Alvin who does the same thing down in the San Diego area. The owners have a display at the San Diego County Fair every year of what Alvin has dragged home. The display is called "Look What the Cat Dragged In".

Came here after i saw he passed away. He was 17 years old, i'm glad he was able to live a long and happy life with his family.
Maybe he used to be human burglar in another life and is now a reincarnated thief.
Most cats I've had just brought me gifts of crickets, and one time- a rodent. That is normal. This one is off the chain with his exploits.
Actually, my first cat brought me anything that was made of cloth (which seems to be Dusty's mo). The difference is that my cat was an indoor cat so could only steal stuff inside the home. Dusty's probably an outdoor/indoor cat. For him, the world is his can of tunafish.
I'm sure everyone gets their things back so they see no need to make a fuss about it. Now if the owners of Dusty didn't give stuff back I'm sure there would be a problem. Because over time 600+ items money wise that's gonna add up lol. Cute cat and story I loved it.

It must be in the Siamese genes! I had a cat (Siamese) who also stole altho' his only began when we moved to the beach. He brought home pantyhose, baby shoes, toys, a necktie… he was quite prolific. It's not that he never stole before the move, it was just now and then. We also live in California, so is it the air?

After attaching a GPS tracking device to Dusty, it was found that Dusty was actually stealing items from all over the world. Apparently, since it is off-season, Dusty somehow acquired Santa Clauses sleigh and reindeer and has been going from house to house and entering through the chimney.

I was reading the story of dusty in my benchmark and decided to look him up after school 😻it's such a cute kitty cat
I remember back in elementary, maybe middle school, we had to read a story about Dusty for the STAAR test (a test in Texas that's required to move on to the next grade, changes the name every few years so maybe it's called something different now idk) and I'm pretty disappointed in myself that after 13 years of schooling, "Dusty the cat" is the only thing I can remember from all of it lol. Honestly no clue how he's stuck in my mind this long, but he has haha

@@jazinegrrrl He is in retirement. This is a local story where I live. The news here did a follow up. It was before the pandemic so it must have been late 2019. He is old and doesn't leave the house much. His crime spree is over.

Kinda, he is bringing gifts for his family. If you look at his size he has probably been fixed, and well cared for so rather then hunt for food as a gift he brings things, less work, more useful to his humans. It's sweet.
