My Kenwood KM-208 uses the Sanken 2922 & is rated at 155wpc into 8 ohms @ 0.015% THD. Very clean & plenty of power.
Single pair per channel?

The 5200 have 150 watts power...and the 2922 have 200 watts!!
But the 2922 is faster (50Mhz).... than the 30Mhz 5200!
The driver must deliver the right current to drive the power dissipation you want.
And when you install a variable resistor for the idle current adjustment, you can drive every transistor you want.

Que tal amigo, vi hace algún tiempo este video, pero no debemos irnos con la "finta" solo chequemos que marcas y tipos de amplificadores llevan los transistores 2SA1943 y 2SC5200 y la demanda que tienen. Un comentario para pensar en esto, es que si tienes una fuente de alimentación que solo proporciona 100 watts, jamas podremos obtener un par de watts mas, recordemos aquello referente a la energía, "que no podemos crearla ni destruirla" aunque para este caso, no podemos crearla de la nada.
Los transistores sanken solo muestran una aparente ganancia mayor a los de Toshiba, pero a final de cuentas entregarán la misma potencia.
Lo anterior es tan solo algo que he aprendido en la escuela y mi trabajo.
Pienso que es una pena el no poder conseguir los transistores de Sanken de forma tan fácil como los transistores de Toshiba.

You have to fix a dummy resistor load and feed it sinwave. Measure the output voltage and calculate the wattage it is outputting. By changing to a beefy Transistors does not translate to bigger power amp while still retaining the same power supply.
I do have a suggestion: Run a jumper wire from the unused emitter pad, to the emitters of the transistors, so the amplifier will maintain proper bias current, and output impedance. Otherwise, you're passing twice the current through the one emitter follower for each side of the amp, which makes it less capable of supplying full current to the speaker. It could cause zero-crossing distortion, as a result of the reduced bias current.(assuming the beta of both the toshiba and Sanken transistors is similar)

No eBay encontra, no mercado livre, até um tempo atrás TB tinha, hj em dia não sei.
Solo le resto potencia a la placa. Los 4 5200 dan 200w y los 2 2922 dan solo 125 w. Hubiera montado los 4 grandes pero la placa no da espacio para ellos. Esos 4 dan 250w

Their references are: Sanken:
2SA1215 and 2SC2921.

You can use for instance onsemi MJL4281A / MJL4302A, or MJW21193 MJW21194 or MJL21193 /MJL21194 or MJL21195 + MJL21196G, they are all 200w transistor or more, but you must change all of your output transistor in your amplifier, not just this dead two. And it is very important that all of your output transistor should be paired, so that al pairs have same or similar HFE
2sC5200 and 2sA1943 in pair group 2pçs. Max Power rate is 120w +5% THD distorction distorção harmônic. 95w in 1%THD Real meter.

I don´t understand for what to change these transistors.If 5200 are original,they are excelent for this kind of aplications. Sanken are good transistors as well but is not necesary to change. By avoiding one pair, the power output decreases. And now you don´t have enough space por place the giant 4 devices there.
Exactly this video does not make any sense at all. First of all 5200 has higher tdp i don't even know which manual he was reading but probably none. Secondly, if the sanken transistor needs 5A to drive it means for him it's a better transistor than i don't know something 😂😂😂 which is totally possible. 3rdly, now days to get thoose sanken crap it's very difficult cuz all of them Chinese fake ones. So any time i have trouble with this ancient transistors i just ordering the 5200 instead of it and i've never had any problem with them.
