It brought a tear to my, it was so beautiful to see the poorest people of the land's poorest area being given buildings from different cities and states! So lovelyl! Love from the foothills of northern Hungary
Узбекистан не был бедным, он был таким же как и другие советские города и республики. Просто землетрясение уничтожило все до основания и этот город восстанавливали всей советской страной. Вам следует посетить Узбекистан, уверен вам там очень понравится.
The concept of poor is not the same in many cultures as it is in Western Europe and North America! People are not poor simply because they don't have a fancy house and fancy possessions. When people have a decent and functional house to live in, food, healthcare and education, necessities, family, friends, community, etc., they are not poor!
I love the way how you portrait ‘regions’ by putting people in the center. People in all their diversity, but with the same underlying dreams, worries and desires everywhere. What a great message shared by your wise aunt (?) at the end: Accepting the ‘isness’ of life is truly a secret key to happiness. Great video (again).
Beautiful colourful architecture from Soviet period as artful historical murals, also presented by the beautiful stations. The Soviet architectural beauty is maintained intact. The fruits and traditional food are awesome. Thanks Eli for sharing, your excursion work is excellent. God bless your good works.😊👑

Matthew you really to go to Russia and the republics if you can. I had not believed western media for a very long time before I went the first time for Christmas /New Year 2002-03 to visit my now wife. I went with an open mind and was still more than very pleasantly surprised. Beautiful country and wonderful, friendly and helpful people. Even the police were polite and friendly on the occasion we went to change the address of where I was staying in case I needed to be contacted.
I visited Uzbekistan 9 years ago, and loved it. There is something about central Asia. I found the people friendly and welcoming. It is good the country is relaxing it's regime following the death of Karimov. I love plov/pilov and the bread is wonderful too.....and the vodka. I hope you cover more of the country, it is amazing.
I visited Tashkent back in 1982. I went on an organised trip and flew from London to Moscow and visited Bukhara, Tashkent, Samarkand and Leningrad. It was my third trip to the Soviet Union. I traveled with my brother and I remember my Mother crying before we set off on our holiday thinking she’d never see us again. Lol. I was 21 years old. In Tashkent I remember women upon seeing us smiling to show off their gold capped teeth. It was the height of fashion for women in Tashkent to have gold capped teeth during that time. I have very fond memories of the Soviet Union. I recently subscribed to your great channel. Diolch Eli.
I never went to Uzbekistan but have spent several months in Almaty, Kazakhstan. A lot of similarities of course. People very warm and friendly. Your grandmother is inspiring.
Tashkent is more busy and vibrant than Almaty in my opinion...Almaty look like a dystopian city with weird new buildings and vast flat land with so little people xD.
Yes! Yes! Yes! Grazie! utterly beautiful! You’re back! Love this vlog, not only because it’s about Uzbek but your views which are balanced, objective and eloquent. Good interviews. I’d say this is journalism. That said, love the architecture (the woodwork/carpentry is stunning. I can see similarities a mix of soviet/persian/kashmiri architecture/culture. Fabulous! More! More! @@ElifromRussia Thank you for all your beautiful videos of Russia. With all the lies told to us by our western governments ; your videos bring a feeling of hope for the future .
A lovely video! When I learned about Russia in school Tashkent was in USSR (I am about the same age as your relative). I was very impressed with what I learned & always wanted to visit. Thank you for the conversations, the sites, architecture & glimpse of the brotherhood shown by Soviets. I've traveled some of the world & wish now I had made a point of visiting Russia. Thank you for the tour of all these amazing places!
Another wonderful video Eli, Central Asia is so welcoming, interesting and unique. I stayed in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan for a few months earlier this year actually in some of the places you visited, it was a real eye opener for me and I can’t wait to return, Tashkent is definitely on my list!
Wow what a beautiful area!! So clean and intricate in style. The station's mix of modern and constructivism, I want to visit there. I love your videos! Cheers from California USA❤
Thank you Eli for sharing this beautiful short video of Tashkent! I m so impressed with the culture, traditions, architectures and of course the food 😊Definitely will visit Uzbek one day. Greetings from Malaysia 😊
When the video flashed the inscription "For the people of Toshkent from your brothers from Belarus" and "from Tula city to Toshkent" I was astonished, then when I heard the background music, tears suddenly overwhelmed my eyes. I am not from the USSR but there's a feeling like I missed the Soviet Union, I can't explain it. The Soviet Union showed the world that unity can achieve many great things, especially in terms of the well-being of the people.
Great video, thank you, a most beautiful city, and the food certainly does look delicious. Tashkent is great credit to everyone who rebuilt it and who infuse it with their lively vital cultures!
This was great - so interesting. I like to watch Elvira's channel "On the Way" where she shows viewers many aspects of life in Uzbekistan ( and some neighboring places), so this was really great to see Tashkent from your perspective, Eli. You always put high quality and interesting stuff out there - keep up the good work!
The sign of a good travel/geography video is that it makes you want to visit the place. In this sense your video really succeeded. Thanks for a good portrayal of Toshkent and the Uzbek. people.
8:59 I think it's so cute how he said Uzbeks are trained to sit like that ! I've always believed that was a normal way to sit cause that's how we sit in my family. It goes to show we're all more similar than different ❤
I love the inclusion of Gena on one of the mural edifices. 💓🐊 (13'34") Your approach to respectfully honouring the collective efforts of Soviet peoples touches my heart so deeply. ...and your aunt's family's apartment is stunning. Thank you for your beautiful heart, a heart I see reflected in many of your posts ❣️💐🤩
I loved listening to your Korean friend talking about why Koreans were deported to Central Asia because the same thing happened to my ethnic group. We are Ahiska Turks and my grandparents were deported from Meskheti Georgia to Samarkand, Uzbekistan which is where my parents were born and raised
Stalin move around many ethnic group all over Russia...mostly because they do not want that particular ethnic group to rised up and rebel, not because they look like something else...that is why he relocated many Crimean tartars to Siberia because if the Tartar stay at Crimea that are near to Turkey they might rise up and rebel. Same with Circassia people who forcefully kick out from Circassia and many today like in Syria and Turkey. Only the Chechen stay and fought long enough until the Russian gave up lol.
@@neznamtija8081in Kazakhstan it’s very common for educated people speaking 3 languages: Kazakh, Russian and English. I can name 10+ people among my friends speaking 4 languages, 4th language mostly being Turkish.
I'm from the Czech Republic, I took my son on vacation last week. We passed through Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. The main difference between Western Europe and the East is the people. In the east they are much friendlier. I have visited more than thirty countries of the world and I can confirm with certainty that the drier the country, the better the people.
I have been to Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and I agree with you people were amazing 😍 so I visited them again and again several times. I hope you also visited Semerkand and Bukhara in Uzbekistan cause the Uzbek traditional architecture is so beautiful. Those cities are like a time machine. And fun fact Taj Mahal was built by Emperor Babur's Grandson and Emperor Babur was the grand son of the Uzbek Emperor Timur.
Very very interesting, so as usual. It is a great pleasure to follow your instructive vlogs. Thank you very much, dear Eli, for showing us nice people from the great family of the humanity! Greetings from Zurich Swizerland !
Eli, that's terrific you have a Koren friend in Tashkent. You're such a friendly person. I'm wondering if you actually have a friend in all 195 countries of the world. As for Uzbekistan, I knew nothing of its history. It's interesting to learn these things. There's so much we are not taught in school. But you always point out the good things about people and that most people everywhere are friendly and want to be helpful.
My chinese name was An Xx,the first name AN was thought to be from a country called “the country of An”originally in Chinese history book. Experts have verified that this An country is located in today’s Bukhara of Uzbekistan.so So what a excited feeling to see Eli who I like coming to the country that I like
Every one of your travelogues is better than the last, Eli. It’s hard to believe you don’t have an entire crew working with you. As for plov, I’m happy to report New York now has a Tashkent Market with take-out plov available all day long. 😊
Great work as usual, but gotta say your closing thoughts really resonated with me. Sure, we often hear that kind of thing in our daily lives, but the way you and your aunt put it was exactly how I needed to hear it right now. Thus, I thank you twice!
Ever since I was a child, I've been fascinated with Central Asia. Often I would dream of it's place in history, the Silk Road, and the allure of it's mysticism. What was it like living in the moment, as Paul Cooper of Fall of Civilization would often put it. Now as a middle aged, I really need to fulfill this childhood fascination before I'm unable to, physically. Great video as always, Eli. I love your aunt's perspective. She has such a wonderful soul, adventurous like yourself. Only thing missing is you meeting with Kostja from Inside Russia and members of the Tashkent Breakfast Club. That would have been a great added bonus. ❤
Keep up the great work. Many of us from different lands of this planet, may dislike our politics, but we enjoy the people from every country. Especially the poor and humble. Great work eli.

Thank you for the tour of all these amazing places!
Thanks for sharing!
Again you bring the world together! So much appreciation for your travels and videos! Thank you!
Thank you again Eli fore a wonderful and beautiful video. ❤
You should definitely visit!
This is a very interesting tour. Thank you Eli!
Love your aunty💗Love Uzbek friendly welcoming people from Korea, no wonder everyone helped them rebuild!
Hell from Uzbekistan 🇺🇿🇺🇿🇺🇿🇺🇿 I will definitely visit Malaysia one day inshaalloh ❤
Eli, after every one of your beautiful videos, I want to travel to that place. 🎉
Oh Eli, only you can be so beautiful as a person and you touch your vlogs with gold!
Thanks I love your videos, very interesting. ,👍🤓
Glad you like them!thank you
Beautiful.
Thank you, Eli.
You're beautiful architecture also.
Remarkable content. Keep it up Eli!
Thank you, Eli and your relatives and friends for this, always nice, video. Keep enjoying every day as your aunt teaches to us!
You are a good interviewer. Great job, keep the videos coming. I learn from each encounter!
Beautiful video and great life-stories. Your auntie is a real gem. Greetings from Argentina
The sign of a good travel/geography video is that it makes you want to visit the place. In this sense your video really succeeded. Thanks for a good portrayal of Toshkent and the Uzbek. people.
Wow, amazing and beautiful, thankyou for sharing your Uzbekistan adventures Eli!
Thank you, Eli! One day I will definitely visit this beautiful place!
I enjoy your sharing different cultures Eli. From Ohio USA
8:59 I think it's so cute how he said Uzbeks are trained to sit like that ! I've always believed that was a normal way to sit cause that's how we sit in my family. It goes to show we're all more similar than different ❤
all Asian must know how to sit like that...even in Palaces like in Japan and Korea ministers and King sit like that
I love the inclusion of Gena on one of the mural edifices.
You noticed too! And Cheburaska in front of Ghena 😊
And where do u live now? What is ur religion and what language do u speak?
@@neznamtija8081 Probably lives in the US, Speaks English, Turkish, Russian and culturally muslim
@@systemreset9410 it’s highly unlikely one can speak that many languages tho
@@neznamtija8081in Kazakhstan it’s very common for educated people speaking 3 languages: Kazakh, Russian and English. I can name 10+ people among my friends speaking 4 languages, 4th language mostly being Turkish.
I haven't been to Uzbekistan. But I want to say hello to everyone from Siberia.
Hello from Uzbekistan, Tashkent city. I heard that your language sounds familiar to Uzbek language. Is it Turkic?
@@simplicity7782 Hello. In Russia, almost everyone’s first language is Russian. And so do we.
@@lucyfromsiberiaI wish I had. One day an American friend
Oh my goodness, those metro stations are a work of ART! Just stunning. I can not wait to visit one day, thank you Eli
I really enjoy all your videos.
you are such a good person and a credit to your parents, David
I'll be in Uzbekistan in 2 weeks time for vacation ! I can't wait. Khiva, Bukhara, Samarqand and Tashkent.
You keep getting better and better at what you do Eli. Keep it up!
Très belle vidéo Eli, j'aime toujours beaucoup votre façon d'aborder les choses et les gens et de nous les présenter.
i love a view of how it was in the soviet times from an unfiltered place thank you
Excellent presentation. Thanks.
I went to Toshkent in October last year! It was awesome!!
Toshkent in turkish langauge: Taşkent means Taş:Stone Kent:City
Your grandmother spoke with such wisdom it was a joy to hear. 😁
Excellent video thank you Eli 😊

Great video, Eli! Your message at the end is meaningful and so true! Though we should always try for the best. Thank you!
Very very interesting, so as usual. It is a great pleasure to follow your instructive vlogs.
Thank you very much, dear Eli, for showing us nice people from the great family of the humanity!
Greetings from Zurich Swizerland !

Aziz is a wonderful, experienced guide, willing to show you the whole country! Liking the video for his participation here.
Never fail to impress
PS: your new subscriber 😊
Yay, welcome to my channel ☺️
Fantastic video thanks!
Glad you liked it!
Great episode thanks from the Netherlands.
My chinese name was An Xx,the first name AN was thought to be from a country called “the country of An”originally in Chinese history book.
Experts have verified that this An country is located in today’s Bukhara of Uzbekistan.so So what a excited feeling to see Eli who I like coming to the country that I like
Always learning something watching your videos, keep it up!
Every one of your travelogues is better than the last, Eli. It’s hard to believe you don’t have an entire crew working with you. As for plov, I’m happy to report New York now has a Tashkent Market with take-out plov available all day long. 😊
How wonderful are the underground stations and how clean. Thank you for this interesting video. Sven
Wow. This is a beautiful place. The architecture is amazing. ❤❤
Beautiful city! I really enjoyed learning a bit about the country
Super. I enjoy your voyages. So informative!
Thank you for your work Eli & for bringing us beautiful and exciting content🥰👌🏼
Great work as usual, but gotta say your closing thoughts really resonated with me. Sure, we often hear that kind of thing in our daily lives, but the way you and your aunt put it was exactly how I needed to hear it right now. Thus, I thank you twice!
amazing view
Great tour and such a beautiful country! Love your show Eli....
Really enjoyed this video!
Amazing video, thank you so much!
Keep up the great work. Many of us from different lands of this planet, may dislike our politics, but we enjoy the people from every country. Especially the poor and humble. Great work eli.
Fascinating window into an exotic world. Thanks for what you do.
Awesome video much ❤️
Thank you so much 😊
Great videos- you show us places we in the west will probably never see!
So much rich culture…all cultures should be respected!
Thank'YOU Ufa ! 💋❣️... Brava!🤗
Wonderfull video, spaciba Eli! Paka paka 👋😎✌️
I love your videos, so informative, and showing the history, true nature of the people. The West depicts a view, an agenda, and paints a very dark picture of the Central Asian and Russian people
