Samira was basically Seraphine plus Akshan in one card. She was a really solid body that went well in a ton of decks that generates a bunch of value and is a two cost that on level is basically a win con, and she had some obscene interactions with some champs.
Elder dragon is cool. Fulfils the promise of the runeterra champion.
Makes 6+ costs units interesting. I finally have a reason to play atakhan in my swarm decks hahahaha

I barely see anyone have any intentions of actually drawing let alone playing Elder Dragon yet most people have it in there deck for the broken origin.
The *CHAMPION* Neeko is imo one of the best most interesting cards to ever be added, but the actual gameplay of her region is very sad/uncreative, but the possibilities were there.
They need to expand the menagerie package. The issue is that there's not enough reason to play multiple types, and she doesn't even level half the time.
Neeko: a trickster lizard that have a lot of long range spells

BASED snnuy. elder dragon goes crazy
The ultimate problem with Neeko is that even if you build a Neeko deck it's just a version of a Warden Demacia/Freljord deck but with like 3 other mid early game cards. Like the only thing using Neeko over a Freljord/Demacia subtype deck gives you is Deck Hunter and the overwhelm Noxus cat cause all the good subtype units are already in Demacia and Freljord and Warden is a subtypeless unit that is a better win condition for subtype soup than the dedicated subtype champion. If you really wanted to build a subtype deck you're better off just not using the subtype champion and I think that's just a fundamental failure of catastrophic proportion.
If they really wanted Neeko to be playable I'd give Warden a subtype so Neeko could take it with her, then change her level up condition to Play, then either change her level up to 8 subtypes or seen you play 4 different subtypes.

Ive been trying to get back into the game, the hardest part is learning what was put into eternal. As well the game feels largely shifted around the game ending sooner after round 6

I do agree with most of your takes but I'll add some of my own:
Neeko- to add on what you said, yes her gameplan is straight foward and you're forced to make bad trades just to advance her level. But to me her biggest issue is the face she offers no interaction whatsoever, meaning that if your opponent wants to remove your units or simply advance their own gameplan they're free to do so with you only being able to punish them with swarming. I think the best solution is what you said, giving some spells a subtype that way Neeko can work for different gameplan without the restriction she brings.
Nidalee- while she isn't a bad champion sadly we don't have great ambush units (other than the two you've mentioned) meaning it's not worth it most of the time to just use the ambush mechanic. I'm hopeful that with Rengar (or maybe Khazix) Nidalee will get proper support to the ambush archetype.
Jack- Jack's case is the fact that coins don't have a good pay off. Sure you can use them to buff Jack and sometimes cheat out a bunch of cards but currently it doesn't have the big payoff you're looking in order to really justify the coin archetype.
Nilah- she just needs more draw support or just lowering the requirement towards her level up. While leveling up Nilah isn't hard since it can happen while she's still in your hand/deck it can take too much time and it does make her less consistent to level up and win the game with on her own.
Poro King- I think making some spells having the "poro" subtype will help him for sure, it can give him more interaction and make him more flexible rather than being stuck in Targon because of Xolaani.
The rest I feel kinda fine about.
Poro king doesn't require the poro subtype, just that the card mentions poros as part of it's effects, like poro herder or poro stories

For me, the last expansion was amazing because most of the champions are amazing for my playstyles and champions that I use. 3 of my 4 favorites benefit a lot thanks to the new cards (those being Nasus, Aurelion Sol and Pantheon). I would say that Morg is easily my favorite just because of my type of playstyle, but all 3 of them are amazing
I think more tribal decks or cards should have been printed before they printed neeko. Having the only real tribal cards for neeko being the ones released with her sucks and makes her package feel underdeveloped.

Well yeah, that is typically how tier lists work. There is no objectively correct one, this is just based on how he feels so ofc it’s gonna be biased
@@shmooters5599 I take more an issue with the presentation. Just when comparing Jack and Sett at the beginning, he states that he's okay with Jack just being a good midrange unit that wasn't played at all, but Sett just being a control tool for Ionia is randomly bad? Both are essentially the same tool - meant to take the slot of a champ, but do something the region doesn't do normally, and can singlehandedly win games. He just complains about Karma, gives Sett a low rating, and moves on.
@@jihosna6834 I understand that but this is also Snnuy the certified Ionia hater, I would’ve been more surprised if he gave Sett a good rating. It’s just how these things go sometimes, people will have biases and when rating things those will show
@@shmooters5599You mean personal tier lists? Usually tier lists are made based on what it is in a vacuum of the metagame, rather than what the person personally feels about them.
Neeko really need some spells in her sub region to make her interesting, like they did with Jax with cards like fish fight.

So many people dont like sunken temple, but its such a interesting card for eternal! Tha ks to this card, you can make COOMBOOOO decks you never thought of!
For example, printing jinxs rocket, ashe arrow, lux lazer, make a printer deck with kayn and get TONS OF STRIKES, make a printer deck with morgana and get the true league of legends root! Etc.
Cant wait to see what comes next! Crossing fingers this expansion is a 3 parter and nilah goes to challenge the 10 primordial demons(fiddlesticks,eve,tahm,etc.) Or maybe even a void beast!
eve and tahm are not primordial demons unfortunately, the only ones we know of are nilah herself and fiddlesticks, so maybe fiddle comes in the next expansion and the other two champions are ones nilah seeks for aid to fight fiddle?

So, I have a crackpot theory. The first two expansions are marked as set 7. The Journey expansions are marked as set 8. I'm not fully sure why, but I think the design team wanted to hold off on releasing the rest of set 7, and pivoted to getting out set 8. Maybe it was the poor reception of the first half of set 7, and they wanted more time to tune the rest of it.
Rekindler needs to be rotated or changed to a play effect it so annoying with mort- morg deatless decks running
I kind of dislike Poro King because he didn't do much for the (admittedly mostly bad) existing Poro decks. Their gameplan of spam poros, draw king and snax is a bit hard to expand upon, since there are few slots left for deckbuilding.
Conversely Freljord + 2nd region allows for a lot more variation, leading to some sweet decks that play very different: Luxanna Poroealis, Iceborn Poro Cannon, and brews like Leblanc Fluft, Poro-Castrophe Seraphine, and Kai'sa POrnn...
Nidalee and Neeko are cool on POC
Neeko need more followers with 2 different suptype in one card .
My biggest gripe with Neeko is that she has no spells to choose from(except champ spell) and very minimal units to turn into. The addition of the snowdog though has been a tremendous buff for her. I love playing her with Nidalee, but the lack of pings is saddening. Was hoping she would of gotten like pop blossom or some sort of spell.
Morderkaiser too OP, ok not him specifically, but SI! they have too many kill spells and killing your own units have too many incentives. almost nothing can survive 5 damage for 3 mana especially weaker champions. Even if you have mana to stop it, they always have the upperhand with their endless card draw and get more kill spells along with reviving, until morde drops at turn 7. Its extremely frustrating to play against then you add viego or morg to the mix... i like some things about this expansion but i dislike more things. Anything you place down just dies while the opponent gets more in return, the trade off doesn't feel fair.
Morgana is such an overloaded champion. She does way too many things and her level up has no counter play . As a unit , she has lifesteal and “Force your opponent to waste 4 mana+” with a body that can withstand almost any early unit . On level up , she becomes Ashe with lifesteal but the shackles can’t be removed the way you can increase power against Ashe , not to mention she also deals direct damage to nexus and cursed units . She definitely needs a nerf to her stats and lifesteal removed ( her having lifesteal doesn’t even make sense) . Also shackles should be burst and add a limit to how much it can stack . Also make curses an option for discover as a counter play
Hey, if they ever decide to reduce broadmane to 5 cost so he's not in Elder Dragon regions, maybe my Jhin/Elder Dragon deck will finally see some play...

To be fair, seraphine had seen no play in Demacia and Freljord decks (don't know about samira).
Seraphine is so much more specific than Samira. She needs 2 cost spells (lots of them) a lot of 1/2 offs meanwhile damira on release could work in basically any deck.

@@Jasminepqthe difference between samira and seraphine is that the decks seraphine had were broken and only a few (samira fizz) of samiras decks were actually overtuned.
Morganna is perfect release. Mord and ED are just overtuned to be relevant in worlds. They will be nerfed eventually and they will drop in popularity....
Your trippin, Morgana is the broken part of that deck not Morde, this can be seen as Morg is carrying 3 decks while Morde is only good in 1.
I would say Morgana is way above average right now and over tuned herself.
All 3 of them are incredibly strong which is something im not a fan of but it appears other players are

I'm not far into the video at all but it's really peculiar when you describe the bilgewater side of coins as being like "low payoff midrange enabler" tech when... like the part of bilgewater coins that feels the most consistent is setting up THEIR OTK. Nukkle into (the other two) that just blow out the game as early as turn 6, if you have stacked the coins to detonate that early.

I still play Neeko, honestly it's the only champ I've liked for standart up to now.
The deckbuilding simple, you have a gameplan, and you play it out.
It also starts finding more variety the more you play with other regions:
Play it with Targon, you get Celestials
Play it with Demacia, you get Elites and Dragons
Play it with Shurima, you get Ascendants.
There's definetly something to be made with Neeko, and all she needs is someone to find what that something is amidst the card jungle.
Tho, there are things I WISH it worked, for example:
If Attached worked with Neeko you could play Neeko Yuumi
If the dragon Dragonlings worked you could play Darking Fan and Kennen, which I did try, it's fun but the Dragonlings not counting as Dragons on attack sucks.
Heck, you could also play Yetis with her and maybe use Warmother's call since ALOT of Neeko units are summoning effects.
She definetly has options, but people get more interest on newer champions.
Which is fair, like, man, Elder Dragon is really cool.
My main neeko deck is atriox since they bring sarkin and cultist and copying them with snake is powerfull

My opinion for the great champion of the year
VOLIBEAR = Small ver. Evenly Matched (Yu-Gi-Oh)
Moderkaiser = no idea but Gigachad
Morgana = Small ver. Kashtira (Yu-Gi-Oh)
Elder Dragon = Victory Dragon (Yu-Gi-Oh)
I've got tired of Volibear and Warmother's call decks at some point before the new expansion when every game you just hope to win around turn 8-9 (I am a mid-range decks enjoyer) but I understand the hype around the champion and it definitely deserves his spot on the tier list.
Honestly, only used Neeko to experiment with the most broken deck in all of LOR…birds 😂
Samira can not be a "Perfect Release", given that she was busted as fuck. A perfect release HAS to be balanced.
I'm going to be the blacksheep here and say that I don't like "flexibility".
Samira was never a flexible card, she never allowed other strategies to shine, she was so overpowered that she became a staple. Her role in 90% of her decks was just being a broken 2 drop, a broadwing for noxus.
The same goes for elder dragon. He is just warping the meta around some broken "ed package"(burble fish, firespitter, ninetales ecc).
Saying that ed is flexible is like saying that max-c or ashe blossom are flexible in yugioh. Those are not flexible cards, just staples that make the winrate of a normal archetype jump 10% higher than the base version of the archetype.
Staples in my humble opinion are quite the opposite of flexibility.
Don't get me wrong. I played a lot of samira/fizz and now I'm playing both ed/volibear and ed/shyvana. I love ed in the right deck.
At the same time, I think nidalee is underapreciated. Did she create just one viabile deck? Yes and it was the best deck ever. Every single card, with no exception, served a very specific role and comboed into the other cards perfectly. The deck had such a perfect flow of play.
It was by far the deepest gameplay runeterra ever offered, the number of different combos it allowed was insane. Nidalee created a very specific deck, with no staples, where every single card did matter. Insanely hard to pilot at his Max potential and insanely fun.
I will always prefer a very cohesive archetype over a deck that is 50% true to itself and 50% random cards that are so overpowered that can fit in twenty different archetypes.
So yeah, here's my very controversial take
Edit: I do like flexibility when done right. Elder dragon synergizing with the 6 drops (both of them)of volibear and also synergizing with dragons is neat.

I absolutely despise Timmy decks when they are too good. There is nothing more boring than stat sticks being at the top. No skill expression, just "me play big cards me win"

Really? Volibear has a great lvl up animation? It's mid at most, if not kinda boring with him just swiping at the camera.

Also, and this is more of a character desing thing lol is accountable for, he's supposed to be THE viking champ, but all he is is: blood, blood, death, death, I hate everything and everyone.
They could have done so much more with the viking culture, yet all it is is snow, the god of the forge, Anivia for sone reason and Volibear who just wants to smash.
To anyone that knows the smallest bit of viking culture, the artistry is just missing completley, making Noxus more viking than Freliord since Noxus is all about brotherhood, honour and war. Freliord is just forgeing, being cold and Volibaers murder cult.
"ED is runeterra champions done to perfectiion". It's not even a champion at this stage its just a passive for your 6+ cards.
ED is good because its powerful is what i tend to see about this card. Controversial opinion but i think its one of the worst designed cards out there.

Concerning elder dragon: do you play mtg? what you complain about ED been like a passive reminds me of edgar markov and the eminence keyword on commander, one of the most powerfull and somehow disliked abilities in th format.
@@goncaloferreira6429 Never played commander as i only played MTG arena and commander wasn't on there last time i played.
Imagine if his passive was "if Edgar Markov started in your deck" thats what ED is. Im pretty sure this card would be in 100% of decks if its passive was active REGARDLESS. If a card applied a perma passive regardless where it is in MTG i assume it would be broken.

Mordekaiser is, i believe, the best design ever, they completly nailed it, when you play him, he really feels like the king of death, you can prevent any unit from permanently dying and even Mordekaiser dying isn't a big deal, he'll just come back even stronger, i think no other card represent as well their champion as mordekaiser

I feel the same way. No one has any intention of actually summoning Elder dragon, its just a free power they start the game with. Not sure how thats good design
I will never like morgana. The style of gameplay she promotes is just cringe ngl. Elder dragon himself is cool but I think his associated cards are a bit too strong.

sorry mordekaiser sucks, its a bad design for the game, a deck with infinite sources, combos infinite draws. you even dont need to lvl up him. and when you do, is autowin. a perfect release is when the champ has his high and lows balenced as morgana. mordekaiser is popular just beacause it is unfair and generic you can put him on everydeck who cares about summoning units, everytime it revives a unit is basically, full heal. so You kill your own units as a cost to use spells or habilities, then you revive. it is basically 3 mana do 5 damage. 2 mana draw 2 cards, 1 mana do 3 damage and create a husk, 4 mana kill an unit, while "healling" and reactivating the effects.
