SCRUUUU!!! Gratz man
MY BOIIIIII
"You gettin' ate up, you should've battled me on Ramadan" by the inflection in Scru's voice alone you can tell he knows that was fire
this was sooo fire
He absolutely knew that was fire czcams.com/video/InsQQJWrsuk/video.html
Hahah that was the line for me!!! I had to stop and rewind 😂🔥🔥🔥
He knows it’s a Don demarco
Scru sounded like he dose when he repaets a line in his review videos🤣 i love how passionate he is about lyrics. Modern day poet!
Mansa Musa saying "take one small step towards a different 'prophet'", with prophet being a homophone for "profit" completely flew over my head the first time I watched this. Scru is INSANE!
I only got that because the same wordplay was done in Bill Gates vs Steve Jobs.
Don't forget that "One small step" was taken from the excerpt of Neil Armstrong's moon landing clip, playing on Bezos' space exploration with Blue Origin.
Listen..... This whole damn thing was enjoyable af. To think this is my first ERB in yearsssss. I just decided to pull them up to see if they were still going. This vid did absolute justice and was the most ideal welcome back I could've ever imagined.
My jaw is on the floor.
2:27 The first letters of this line spell out MILLIRAVI, which is an internal Amazon term for a banking error of $1,000,000 or more, very obscure and cool

Scru's rhythm and delivery is just so silky smooth. Should definitely invite him back more. He's a natural.
But it doesn't suit his character he's playing, like when you see key and peele, when they're rapping in character they changed their accents to suit the characters they're playing, scru is just rapping in his everyday accent
@@adamthomas1222Why did you randomly bring up Key and Peele as a comparison? But anyway it’s fine rapping in your own accent, rather than then putting on an accent you’re not using to and doing it badly.
Not tryna to hear some generic butchered African accent. Lots of other characters on this channel have the actors just use their own accent, it’s fine. Scru killed it🔥
@@ReblazeGaming Scru is from Nigeria though and he's displayed his accent a bunch of times in his vids, so he could have def done it.

Yup. They’ve grown so much since they first started with John Lennon vs bill O’Riley
Can we talk about how Scru went all the way back to Little Shop of Horrors for that diss on Bezos's girlfriend?
Yes it’s amazing
“I expanded horizons with libraries and mosques
While you chopped off the top of all the mom & pop shops
All you widened was the gap between the haves and have-nots
Now they’re ordering or living in your cardboard box!”
That part alone is why Musa won. Plus it’s incredibly true.

Even almost 2 years later, this is still one of the best ERB's of all time. The lines were straight up godly, with both sides dishing out roast after roast, but the instrumental is what really brings this battle to god-tier. I like how in Bezos's verses, you hear more techno sounds than Musa's instrumentals. Also, I love the occasional church bell sounds. Overall great battle.

Mansa Musa is one of my favorite black people from pre-colonialism world history. His ( Mansa Musa ) life story deserves to be taught in schools world wide. There’s no doubt in my mind that he won this rap battle, bezos can’t compare.
Bless the man. Also, not knocking ya, but the first part of your comment - "one of my favourite black people" - is HILARIOUS to me for whatever reason XDD
Do you know slavery is still legal in Mali?. He was likely not paying with gold but with salt, Mali has gold and salt mines. And I asume the reason why he was giving away so much "geld" (in german gold and money are the same word (EDIT:turns out it is not the same word)) was to cause inflation so when the subsequent deflation came people would sell/get rid of their workers and slaves, which is a normal thing during deflation, so Mansa Musa would buy them and sell them in other place for a higher value. Amazon pretty much does the same strategy with their low prices establishing monopolies.
@@miguelcarunchod.1493unfortunately it still exists in a lot of places including America but here we just call it prisons aka the prison industrial complex who makes people brought in for non violent crimes like drugs and have them make military equipment for the military industrial complex
@@ligma212 That's penitential labour, It also destroys the USA economy with their low prices. Slavery is a different thing because 80% percent of all known slavery is s** slavery.
@@miguelcarunchod.1493 While you're not wrong about the economic strategy, it's also part of the muslim religion to share your wealth during your trip to Mecca, and Musa was a very devout follower. It's possible that him crashing economies on his way to Mecca was just a legit accident. Mali at the time of his trip was the richest empire in Africa, and some argue Mansa Musa still is to this day the wealthiest man to have ever lived. We need a time machine and some truth serum to find out if he accidentallied those economies or if it was a slave investment

@@iamacatperson7226 it is literally impossible hahaha
@@power_0007 or is it?
*Vsauce theme*
i mean, there wasn't really anything he had to wish for. the wealth of mali and therefore mansa musa came from the fact that they had some of the biggest gold mines in history and managed to build a massive trade empire in salt and gold through this. At mansa musas time, it is estimated that a third of all gold in circulation was of mali origin. And as gold was literally money then, he basically held a third of the economy of the then known and connected world in his hands.
“You getting ate up , you should’ve battled me at Ramadan “ is a top tier line

"you're overrated, like you leave economies, inflated."

I learned how to pronounce bourgeoisie from one of their battles.
@@Sol_Invictus1997 I’m telling you. They drop some knowledge.
For real, I love that, they do there research like knowing how jeff real father was bike seller
You might also like Sabaton or their spin off band Civil War. They base their lyrics in military history.
Didnt you find it odd that they had one of history's most prolific slavers lecture bezos on treatment of his workers and bezos didnt push back?
Ah yes, my favorite Epic Rap Battle of History, “Bezos vs Musa Final Full Rez”
Mine too
a very good battle.
Kung Fu Panda Vs. Maui

❤thanks i love these videos
ERB has been the only thing I've been watching for the last week.
"Want workers that dont piss, hire some camels"
Goddamn that one was deserved
He should do what musa did and just use actual slaves
My fav CZcams video right now no lie czcams.com/video/cc05a_tdrsU/video.html 👋
You do realize Mansa Musa died in 1337 hundreds of years before America was even conceived
Kanye West Africa
@@TheLastMillennials What does that have to do with anything?
Fun Fact: Mansa Musa, on his pilgrimage to Mecca, historically gave away so much gold, he crashed the economies of the communities he passed through and actually devalued the price of gold throughout the Arabian Peninsula. To fix the economy, he bought all that gold back at a higher price. The man was fucking swimming in wealth.
Glad that knowledge is out there and it's being shared
That explains why he's battling Bezos: Two rich people that influenced their world in a major way.
Richest guy in the desert
He was richer then bezos too
and he gave it to those thst have less.
bezos drops into a fit when hes asked to pay half a percent in tax
Love that you got Scru in with ya guys.
I feel like something that always get underappreciated is the editing. You don't realize all the subtle details they put in. Like at 0:36 where they zoomed out but kept him dancing in the backround. They spend so much time on the verses and the video it's just perfect
The most impressive part of this rap battles is that they researched Mansa Musa very well.
Almost, if not all, videos of ERB are researched well. That's what make them so great!
@@ClarenceSampang in theory but they had made terrible representations from batman to cleapatra
@@KngJester I thought SFJ was from the Midwestern US?
@@The_One_In_Black He grew up there but im pretty sure he was born in africa, and this part may be wrong but I believe it was Nigeria
Kinda glanced over the whole slaver empire thing though, kinda a big minus there given how long that lasted until it was stopped, well in the west at least.
Neat reference with the “ship has sailed like the dude who came before you” for those who don’t know, the previous king of Mali believed there was another world across the Atlantic.
He was right of course, but he sailed through some of the most dangerous seas in the world (Most hurricanes form there!) and perished with his entire convoy. Crazy story.
Actually he made it to America. The History channel did an episode about it; and you can read about it in numerous books. The Native Americans even made statues of him and his troop that I seen personally.
That's SO COOL.
@@localcelebrity2972 So that means there's two guys who made it to the Americas before Columbus?
@@rhunter42dragon Probably alot more than two to be honest. So much of it is not documented or just became lost through out the years.
@@localcelebrity2972 At the risk of starting a fight... can we please stop celebrating him then?
This has to be one of the best ones yet

the second time a double line was shown in ERBoHistory
In fact, in EpicLLOYD vs Nice Peter 2 there's one
@@BolicheEdwardKenwayAC changed
Ok but the "Musa I'm Lyrically Lethal I'm Relentless African Verse Immune" part was actually super clever.
It's all capitalized because the first letter of each word spells out "milliravi" which was a term Bezos once used as a clap-back to people saying Amazon would go bankrupt back in 2003. He said it meant a miscalculation of a million dollars or more, and also titled Amazon's next quarterly report "Meaningful Innovation Leads, Launches, Inspires Relentless Amazon Visitor Improvements" to make it an acronym. Subtle but genius line!
I knew there had to be something to that line I was missing. Cheers.
Wow 😯
Top tier explanation. Line went from weird to clever after reading that
Hat's off to you sir 🤠
I swear to god, those ar ERB know how to do their research AND implement that in their verses. They truly know how to make a difference.
I have to say, finally getting to see Scru Face Jean in a battle is just amazing. The guy has been breaking down ERB rap battles for over a year. He has definitely earned being a battler in one.
How did I not notice that!?!
Knox Hill should be in one too!

Mohammad ibn Gao sailed west looking for new lands and disappeared. Man that's one helluva subtle zinger for the history buffs!
ERBs are also so well-researched. It's seriously impressive.
@@osco4311 Where more Americans get their history, than probably should. But any education is better than nothing! Provides a nice springboard.

I know I'm not the only one in saying that Scru Face Jean NEEDS to be back in another battle. He KILLED it as Mansa Musa!
