People are so alike as they are so different. I grew up in Surrey in Canada and school wasn’t my thing either even though I completed it🙃 it was a waste. I think you chose wisely. Cheers lady. I know how you feel about bring an extrovert introvert I totally get it. I had an interesting explanation to me I might share with you sometime. I enjoy your adventures all the way back where you started and your solos now. I like just a chill video of a lovely person camping and having fun. It’s a good place to take a break from my regular job. I hear you I’m alone not lonely. Sometimes I miss the fun times one also gets with others. I feel less wired there are more people like me.

When you talked about how you got started and some negative comments, I just remember thinking how totally awesome it is for a young person to spend weeks in the woods in a tent, learning skills and taking care of herself with the support of family when so many other kids at that age would be out partying or doing devisive things. Hi Becky. Typical Landys, always something. The TD5 engines brought in lots of electronics so can be a minefield. That's why the British Army did a deal to keep the old type engine (Jake could probably tell you) ( I'd still take your engine over your dads😅). A common problem (aside from what Jake fixed) is the fuel system ( there's sometimes a filter inside the tank that can fail) as well as fuel return pipe & injectors). Hope you get it sorted soon & continue on your adventures.
Hey, Becky. Not sure what kind of problems you’re having with Percy, but if they’re intermittent and if you’re running anything additional that requires electricity, you may look into upgrading your alternator to a larger output. Alternators can cause strange problems. Keep up the great content and stay safe, Becky.

Hi, I am a 61 year old woman who is still trying to do long distance hikes and trails even if I have to take a bit more time to complete them. I love watching your videos and I envy your youth and energy though I still enjoy the challenge of long distance paths and I will be walking the Northumberland Coast Path in a few weeks. I notice that you use a solar panel on your backpack to charge your electronic devices. What type do you use? I need something really light as the heavier my pack the more my feet suffer.
You remind me of my youngest daughter !, both strong minded and independent..only difference is you’d walk through a muddy puddle she’d walk around it ..(doesn’t like getting dirty 😢😆).. keep the vids coming and keep smiling .. take care .. just subbed
Being an older diesel, and simpler - might be better going to an ‘old school’ diesel specialist for a fix. Good luck.
Try Canada in the winter. Northern Ontario boreal forest is both challenging and spectacular.

You're making me a bit jealous with your gallivanting because I haven't been able to get out in the backcountry as much as I'd like lately (kitty care has been a bit of a challenge because my little baby has an autoimmune condition that lead to an expensive tooth extraction)... but I'm jazzed to get out more, and hopefully with my little baby :)
Hopefully when you make it back to Canada I'll get a chance to say hello in person, and introduce you to my adventure furball in training :)
I only wish You Tube was around when I was a young man to video the trips I did back in my youth!..There is a very honest approach in all your videos, and I wish you many more adventures to come…A lot of people my age ( late 50’s) aren’t watching TV shows anymore, they’re watching you tube and Netflix ( here in the US at least) so you tubers kinda become our “tv stars” in a way…keep up the great work!

I remember when you first started your channel after subscribing to your dad's one. It was an inspiration watching a youngster starting up and yes, you were very nervous to start with...am proud to have witnessed your journey from the beginning and to watch your confidence grow and watching you shine now. It's been an amazing journey so far and look forward to more. The thing I miss is when you and dad get together, with all the banter and laughter between you both. Wow, I had no idea you've been doing this for so long. I like outdoors, travel, biking and vanlife videos so the CZcams algo recommended some of your recent videos, which I really liked. Then I took a look and saw that you've been doing this since you were in your mid-teens and are quite the outdoors person and these are just the tip of the iceberg. Really impressive and I look forward to your next adventures. You've inspired me to seriously consider bikepacking again, which I've only done once and really enjoyed but many, many years ago and never on my current bike, which is so much better than my previous one.
Also, you're obviously so much more mature and have such a better attitude than so many people your age these days and it's a credit to you and your parents that you turned out this way. Where I live there are so people your age who don't work, go to school or do much of anything but hang around all day with their friends playing video games and getting wasted. You've made me a lot less cynical about your generation and I hope that you're inspiring others your age to be active and pursue their interests and do something with their lives. There's an old saying that youth is wasted on the young but clearly it isn't on you.
Thank you for doing this, people wonder and have questions. I watch yours and Jake’s channel and think I wish I had done these things at your age. I am 53 and have a 23 year old daughter who I wish would do the things you do and have your confidence. I think to myself what if I had done travelling, but then I probably wouldn’t have had my daughter. All emotional things to consider and way up. The best thing ever was my daughter so be travel has waited for me until now.
I have a 2001 Discovery 2 and the "Service Engine Soon" light has been on for about two years, but it never breaks down.
There's a place in Willenhall (not far from J10 M6) called J. L. Services that I used to use for my Disco 2. If you've not tried there then it might be worth a visit when you're next in the area.

Advice from an old git. Don't spend too much on the disco. It will be rusted before it works without an issue.

Thats why maintainance is most important wire brush the chassis and rust protect it with something like waxoil etc .
Wire brush most areas likely to rust and protect them.
And that is one less thing to worry about .
Oh good and sensible about settling down somewhere and you realising about vans and it not being a long term option. Mature. Can’t wait to see where you and Jake end up

I had a landy disco 2 TD5 for years, a told you earlier, i loved it…. Regarding engine noise, top tip: buy bitumen mats , i used Sinuslive ADM-20 Bitumen mat (l x b x h) 500 x 200 x 2.7 mm Buy 20 pcs. They are self adhesive! And can be cut very easy…. Clean the firewall, engine side panels AND dismount the inner doors and stick them on every metal sheet you can find…. You do not need to cover it completely, it dampens very well….. 2 poly prop low and midrange speakers and 2 tweeters and filters and the standard radio/amp will do quite a good job imho…. TD5 engine is quite sturdy imho.. i hope they can cure the current issue…. I have seen all your scandinavian flogs, but apart from the cooling hose i have seem to have missed the current issue…. Hiya, what an inspiration you are I have nine grandchildren and I hope they have a similar ethos on life. If you want a home base you should consider an old place in France land is relatively cheap and France is quite central. Limoges and the SW France is quite secluded.

Well first off i have to say "Becky, I luv you and the life style you have chosen to start your "adult" life. I to left school at 16, just 55 years sooner, I joined the army. I think being alone and being lonely are vastly different things, while in the army surrounded by all the others, I was often alone, although not lonely. I do believe that your journey through life will change as you grow and change, it's the way of life, those that don't grow and change die. I love following your journey through YOUR LIFE, and look forward to each and every video, regardless of content or frequency. I hope all your life dreams, as they change, come true for you. I thought you had a home base to keep all your gear. I’m sure years ago you used to do vids with your Dad so I just assumed you lived with him at times and kept your gear there.
You know what they say though, assuming is the mother of all fook ups so I guess I was wrong. Sometimes it can be months or even a year when YT just doesn’t show me any of your notifications so it can be a long time that I don’t get to see any of your uploads. Thinking back on it I must have been one of your first subscribers as it has been literally years I have been seeing your vids now.
Anyway another good one. Glad ur enjoying it up here in the Scottish Highlands at the moment too. Enough vids for me today I need to get the dog walked then get on with some work. First though a good walk on Dornoch beach (which is one of the places I highly recommend that you visit whilst ur up this way).

Your right too keep the disco You would just get stuck with a van 4x4 essential in the wordiness and wish you kept the disco. Get the fuel system checked out (e.g fuel filter for water and fuel pump ) Electrics can have issues may want to think about immobiliser delete
A transit 4x4 is best of both worlds 👍

@21 i was actually homeless in winter yeah not anyone to rely on or ask for help now im 45 & I'm homeless with a Vw T5 campervan I've had big homes 26yr relationship but now i don't answer to anyone i feel free just need to get out more ohh & im off to Thailand end of the year.

Roll on spring eh ? I'm thinking it might be early this year 🤞 we have had 4 straight days with some sun tho its been freezing but thats fine ....
