Negroni Variation - The White Negroni

- Today I'm making the White Negroni! This one has become a modern classic, and as you can guess, it's a riff on the Negroni. I'm going to say it, this drink isn't white - it's yellow. That's due to the Suze liqueur (a French apéritif). It's an important component to this cocktail, and certainly makes this drink one to remember. 1.5 oz. (45 ml) Plymouth Gin
3/4 oz. (22.5 ml) Suze
3/4 oz. (22.5 ml) Lillet Blanc
Grapefruit zest for garnish

Hey another good video.. its good to see Az on camera at the end because it gives a good perspective on the drinks taste from someone who isnt so used to drinking such varied cocktails.
My wife and I love Campari but we enjoy Suze when we want a similar bitter component as change up with an earthy undertone. We still love our traditional Negroni but also very much enjoy a White Negroni! I know you said you tried other blanc vermouth's. We love Dolin Dry for our 5:1 Martinis but found the Dolin Blanc lacking something the Lillet Blanc brought to the White Negroni. The sweeter, richer Lillet Blanc brought a perfect balance to the earthy Suze in this recipe for us. Keep up the great videos and yes, give us more Az on camera. Just like in cocktails. It's all about balance. :)
I like the Negroni, but I have to say that I prefer the Boulevardier. The bourbon just pulls everything together - so smooth! Definitely going to have to try the White Negroni.
If Az starts singing like that after she tastes a drink, then, yes, definitely keep bringing her on camera!

1 oz Bitter Bianco
1 oz Blanc Vermouth

Love your videos and I've been playing with your drink recipes with great enthusiasm. Many of them have been very welcomed by my wife and friends! Honestly having Oz (spelling?) opinion is a great addition that I not only enjoy but appreciate when planning one of you drinks on my wife or her friends when they have a gathering at our home. Side note: my new knowledge of drinks has been a hit when going out for a drink at a bar and inquiring with the bartenders. I'm so glad Az (is that correct?) became more of a part of your vids. She has a lovely personality that rounds everything out beautifully. She's like the simple syrup in a Jungle Bird: she doesn't seem like she'd be all that important, but really rounds out and balances the whole.
Yaaay Az & Yaaay almost at 100k! I consumed the last of my Suze almost 6 months ago and now can’t find it anywhere near me, but had obviously made a White Negroni and it is one of my favourite ways to start an evening. Great stuff as always!

Hey Anders! I'm not usual to type a comment on youtube but i'm legittimately watching all your videos so, yeah. I just wanted to thank you sincerely for all the knowledge you're giving me. I am going to attend a bartender course soon and all these general hints you give in your videos (such as dry shaking for egg whites or the stir&strain technique for spirits only cocktails) are legit making me a better future bartender.
I absolutely love these videos and learn so much about the history and new drinks / booze. I am struggling to find one I have all the ingredients for though. Seems like most of these cocktails have a very specific, obscure ingredient. Maybe my home bar just isn't large enough (lots of bourbon though) but would love to see some more simple drinks that are more readily accessible. Keep up the great work!
