When I came first time to Greece he was many times guest at a hotel I was working at. He was a very pleasant person, always with a smile and good words.
I admire especially his wife wich until his last hour was always on his side, in any good or bad situation, which I can't say for so many politicians around the world, which are changing their spouses like I change my socks and underwear, day after day!
With other words, possibly he made mistakes in his life, like we all make , but most important he was a GENTLEMAN, which in our time is very difficult to find !

King Constantine II was not perfect, no man is. He was faced with a country in a situation that he - in his young age - clearly wasn’t ready for. But he did what he could with what he had. And no matter what, he never stopped loving the country. He never stopped being a patriot. He put his life on the line for the Fatherland. We Greeks are the heirs to thousands of years of sacrifice. In the spirit of the old ways, those who serve the Fatherland with their lives live forever. Our King - Constantine II - lives forever.

Well, he did not ‘put his life on the line for the Fatherland’ at the moment that it mattered most: the morning of the 21st April 1967. Had he done so, and point blank denounced the junta, most likely, Greece would be a constitutional monarchy today.

Politicians are far from perfect but the military like the Church have no position to run a government. Greece, like all countries, get the politicians that its people deserves, as it is the people of Greece who put them there.

The Greek gov't has already announced that the funeral will not be a "State Funeral" in the literal sense, but it will be treated as such. I do agree with you that it's time for the Greek monarchy to be restored, that relations have cooled and as seen in the video been very receptive.
The Greek Government refused Constantine a State Funeral but King Constantine got a State Funeral in spite of the Greek Government , who were booed by the crowds outside the Cathedral in Athens.

I had so hoped for reconciliation between the King and the Greek government, but the Greeks celebrated 200 years in 2021 and didn't invite him, but invited Prince Charles.
I find peace in the fact many Greek people did love their King.
He was told he wasn't Greek, but he was born in Greece, he participated in the Olympics for his country and brought back the gold medal when many people didn't think he would win.
Regardless, how he was treated, he always walked in love and peace with the Greek people.
