Well, the 7800X3D is probably the best as it avoids the dual CCD issues. Maybe not worth the upgrade from a 5800X3D but a better choice than the 7950X3D is all you do is MSFS. 7800X3D is now around £360 so would be hard to recommend a 5800X3D now.
I went from a 5800x3d to 7950x3d ( Asus TUF x670, 3080ti, 32 gb Trident Z5 neo ddr5 6000mhz). Fresh install several times and yes all the newest bios/drivers blah blah. In VR running reverb g2 I would get the strangest stutters in MSFS. Cruising at 60-70 fps then just tank to 2 fps. Got worse after msfs patches. I tried all the adjustments on the posts and nothing would stick and be stable. It has to be the switching of ccd's. Thats my best guess at this point. Others say the same. Jay-z-2cent just removed his 7950x3d and went back to intel because of strange behavior. I got so tired of it I bought a 7800x3d. Everything else the same and stutters gone. CPU is probably just too niche right now. I have shelved it and will wait till they figure out drivers/ gamebar / memory speed incompatibility issues.
I think I saw a video that the 7800X3D does outperform the 7950X3D by a few fps in MSFS. I am about to change from one to the other, so I will find out.
Hi Virtual Pilot in this yours previous video, czcams.com/video/9TJI2kozVMc/video.htmlsi=t4-2Ed6D0rCzYdEs you said and demonstrated very different results, incredible results, exactly the opposite of what you said here . Could you please do an update so that I can get a better understanding? I want to upgrade to ryzen 7800x3d from a 5800x3d, and I need clearer information, both when the CPU is bottleneck in the city and in the country. Thanks
Well the 7800x3d will perform differently, it’s clocked lower than the 7950x3d but doesn’t have the mix of some cores with the extra cache and some without - which has caused lots of issues for the 7950x3d. I’ll do an updated video at some point but the gains over the 5800x3d really won’t be worth the cash.

Except you already are on AM4 and have an 3600X or something along the lines. Then a 5800X3D is a nobrainer
thanks, good to see,i have 5800x3d and want to switch in the future, but i will wait longer now
what are you getting with the default A320 at say, heathrow on vr? how many fps?

The 5800X3D image looks a lot softer and the steam gauges are blurry compared to the 7950X3D looks like the 5800 have DLSS on ?
If you can try the 7800x3d chip... I wonder if it out performs the 7950x3d in msfs in some use cases it does

The system on the right is clearly running at a higher resolution.
