- Part 2 of my 8-day solo trip to an amazing Adventure bike destination. In this video I ride through the National Park, Do the loop around Blinman to Artimore ruins, and then ride the best track I've ever ridden (and I would nominate it into the top 5 rides in Australia) - Mt Samuel track.
All the GPX files for this trip can be downloaded from here.

Amazing ride, pretty incredible how the Skydio navigates around the trees at pace!
Brent, you have exceeded your own high standards - an outstanding video capturing the Flinders beautifully. Thank you!
One the best Flinders Ranges ADV CZcams video presentations for sure, well done.
Thats some crazy country! I'm getting thirsty just watching this video.
Hey Brent. Pleased to see you enjoyed Mt Samuel and Buggery Gorge. They really are great fun !
Stunning drone and camera photography. Thanks for taking us along.
Another great adventure, with some excellent video production. Well done, Brent.
Great video again Brent. As an Aussie who has been living out of Australia for the past 27 years, your trips and videos truly make me homesick. The footage is really inspiring.
Those were some pretty great shots! I really envy you for your wild nature!
Thanks... Yes, we are extremely fortunate and lucky to have such wilderness on our doorstep. I do NOT take this for granted at all and get out and try to explore as much of it as I can.

Well... Pt 3 coming.... you're spoiling us Brent, can't wait. A picture speaks a thousand words. An excellent watch my friend made even better by well chosen music and plenty of wicked drone footage. What a bonus, and you didn't crash it, I hope.
Fantastic Mate. I have watched this a couple of times and more to see each time.
It's amazing how the narration and drone footage just kicks up the viewing quality a number of notches compared to other adv riding videos. these are put together well, mate.
Thanks... It's a labour of love. I just posted my newest trailer... Im going BACK to the Flinders in a couple of weeks.
@@brentbat I live in SA and doing my motorcycle licence in a few weeks, I love watching adv bikes travelling and in action. One day when I have the riding experience I can go camping with my bike 👌
I did Brachina Gorge many times on my Norton 850 Commando 40 years ago. Wonderful!
Brent, wow you captured the riding so well in this episode. As others have said your creative work is above and beyond. I just wanted to jump on my bike and join in on the super flowy tracks you were riding. 4 X Austrian Thumper Fun. As a Canadian I really had no idea there was such dramatic geography in Australia. I think you have done your country great justice with this series. I suspect a lot more people are going to now want to ride your magnificent lands. Oh and by the way Skydio better be sending you their next new drone as you are doing an amazing job of demonstrating how great their product is. The camp cooking footage was a welcome addition although the Italians might not agree on your assessment of the pasta dish LOL. Big thanks as always.
7:30 might be the best shot, lighting, music, etc, etc ever. You're awesome 👊
I friggen love your movies, Brent.
Brent
Thanks again another great adventure that 701 looks great
Great to see photos & videos.
Thanks for sharing just fantastic
Stay safe Cheers
Brilliant. Great images and well documented.
I love your enthusiasm and zest for life and riding, and of course the filming!
Wow. Incredible video's and amazing production quality. Some of the best I have ever seen. Makes me want to get on my bike right now and just go!!!!!
As always, great vid and thanks for taking me along and inspiring more adventures ☺️
After the phone the sock and the jumper falling off that’s when you were thinking it’s better riding alone
This footage is just stunning! The Australian bush and beautiful beaches are my favorite places to be so I loved this🥰Tysm for uploading👍
Appreciate the 3-D mapping to show the topography. The tracks look more substantial than what they actually turned out to be - rather Spartan! Great to share the ride with some new friends.
A top notch production Brent, qudos and much respect.
Scenery was amazing thanks for sharing.
Hey Brent, thanks for this awesome content and congratulations on 10k subscribers!
Excellent video, looking forward to the rest of your trip.
What breathtaking scenery! I just love the Flinders Ranges, extraordinary.
Fantastic videos! Thanks for posting them.
Wow, what a brilliant couple of videos. I found them because I have been thinking of taking an adventure bike there. After seeing your videos I am definitely wanting to plan a trip with mates. Thank you for your time in producing this…
Brilliant stuff indeed. Been there in the 4WD but I now realise we missed so much.
Fantastic video and ride!
I have to challenge you though to put the Utah BDR on your list.
You wouldn’t believe how stunning the terrain and the the amount of change in surroundings can be.
The Utah BDR Starts off in red rocks and desert sand.
Then you begin climbing into junipers and almost a white rock.
You then hit the Moab area which is red rock like your in mars.
You would think that’s enough but no it is time to hit the mountains and lakes which are like mixing elk city to pine in Idaho with a bit of Colorado mountains.
I am a bit bias as I am the Utah BDR ambassador however I should swing you my way because I rise a 701 as well lol!
Thanks for the videos and the tutorials very much!
Cheers
Fantastic, great commentary and video footage. I always wondered what it was like to ride through these parts of the Flinders and your drone and riding footage complemented beautifully.
One of the great video ever seen on CZcams...
Thank you for sharing this beautiful ride and scenery. I have also riden Blue Rag and loved it. You are inspiring new destinations for me, thanks 😊
Congratulations for this amazing ride and video!
the Skydio along off road rider group- in that scenery makes such a huge difference.
absolutely amazing views and shots 👌😎
Awesome trip and definitely our next destination from Perth. Great vid and footage
Magnificent. Thanks Brent.
Never knew about Mt Samuel, have done the Flinders in a 4x4, now I need to get back there on a bike.
Sensational video
Thank you , wonderful editing and balance to the series. Enjoyed watching the adventure from our beautiful southwest desert in Arizona
I love Arizona. A beautiful part of the world. The Southwest is one of my favourite areas.
Loved it mate can’t wait till I do it.
Absolutely brilliant. Thanks for another great video, you've got me and a friend inspired to get the bikes out again. Can't wait for no. 3. Keep safe.
That is great that my videos have inspired you to get back out on the bikes. Enjoy.
Great video Brent. Fantastic drone footage. Thanks for sharing your route, may head out that way in August. Cheers. Mike
Looks like a great ride! Thanks for sharing these as I followed from your comment over in an American ride through Idaho. I think I'm like you in that offroad is more fun, having to "problem solve" every other second in technical rides is good for the mind & soul. Not to mention the scenery and traded stories with like minded folk.
I must get there one day it looks amazing good video thanks 👍👍👍
Amazing presentation, hanging out for part 3!
Great production, great drone footage. Another epic video Brent.
Very nice video! Thanks for sharing
Great footage mate we’ll spoken and great riding :)
Great camera work- good music
Great work. Thank you.
Just awesome!
Enjoyed watching your video Brent
Awesome video presentation. I rode my DL1000 to the Flinders ranges but due to the extreme corrugated gravel roads I wasn't able to do anywhere what you have done so thanks for showing me what I missed out on. Safe travels.
Your footage definitely gives that part of the Flinders justice nice work👍
Fantastic. Keep posting.
Loving it great job
Awesome work Brent :-)
This is the best overlanding video ( 4x4 or bike) I’ve ever seen. Brilliant production. You should be proud. Btw - don’t tell everyone about the rekluse clutch, it’s my secret too and don’t want everyone to know about it…
Thanks Tom... Yeah, the Rekluse clutch is pretty cool in those steep rocky climbs... it feels like you are almost cheating :-)
Brilliant!!
Brilliant, waiting for part 3
Excellent Brent
Brent, very recent follower here, mate I just thoroughly enjoy what you present. Gotta love that drone of yours, what an amazing gadget that misses all the trees at low altitudes and speed. I flick your videos to a good mate of mine to watch also.. we are both starting to think about more off road bike trips again. Love ya work mate. I look forward to more 👍🏼
What a ride - amazing scenery and so well captured and narrated. I would absolutely love to do this ride - if it wasn’t halfway around the world 😉 cheers from Germany- keep up the good content- Oliver
Thanks Oliver...Who knows... maybe oneday you'll get down under :-). Cheers to you.
Reckon Mt Samuel will have a big influx of riders now.👍
Brilliant! :)
that track is heaven for moto crossing 😮
How good was that....not to easy not to difficult, time for a Flinders trip soon.
I love that Husky 701 exhaust note--Brent.
"My" new Himmy 450 (arriving March) seems to have lost the similarly ballsy thumper note that the Himmy 411 had; I guess you can't have everything--I didn't want to have to take the tank off every 5K to do the valve clearances--knowing me I would have snapped a fuel hose connector every second time :(( .
Great music choices sir
You have a great talent for these adventure films. Fantastic cinematography, edits and scripting.
(Can't fly drones in National Parks? I actually don't want to know why tbh. 🙄)
Superb
I just got back from my flinders ranges adv ride. Mt Samuel track was a real fun ride, thanks for sharing. I got my super tenere xt1200z through Mt Samuel OK, it was was fun but challenging like you say.
Yes, Mt Samuel is definitely do-able on a big bike... Plenty of challenges, but nothing that should stop you. I'm glad that you enjoyed it. It is a wonderful Adventure ride. Did you do Skytrek?
@@brentbat no unfortunately i missed that one, but did a lot around arkaroola and also did that track through the aboriginal reserve and out along that no through road. There was so much great riding out there! Ill be back next year more prepared for sure!
Excellent!
Looks like an amazing adventure Brent! Great cinematography as usual. I'm now trying hard to convince myself I don't need a 701 Enduro.... yet 🙂
Hey Brendan.... you will just "know" when you need to buy one :-)
You have the best motorcycle drone work I have seen on CZcams. Great stuff Brent.
Your drone Skydio is really good for tracking motorcycle riding! I used to have the DJI Mavic Pro, Air 2 and they’re quite OK, now I switched to the DJI Mini 3 Pro for lighter more compact luggage but it’s not good for tracking the ride in higher speed. Thinking of having another drone for the job.
Cheers!
What a great job you've done in showing off the Flinders Ranges. I rode it with a group last year but the few paltry photos I have don't compare to your epic production. I agree its a magnificent place. Better than the Vic high country? I disagree but I'm biased as I live here.
Despite your disappointment with your pics it sounds like a pretty epic ride.
Amazing
thanks !
Believe it or not, I ride a modern Scrambler and find the lone dirt roads where I set my own pace the best.
0 traffic stress. Road less travelled. Exploring.
This is why I ride solo
My favourite are the skydio drone shots that drone is just fantastic you could make an entre video with just those shots🙌👍
Mt Samuel has always been a brilliant ride
I prefer it to the Wonnangatta-Dargo ride which was always fun
Nice :)
wow! I ride but its a harley (shhhhh) but this trip makes me wanna get out there in my 4x4 van :D
The Flinders is a meca for 4wd. I think every track I rode can be done in a 4WD.
Superb ! Going there in June with Nerb & the crew 🙌
Excellent Oli... Oh.. you are the 701 guy. Yeah, I've been tick-tacking with Nerb about his ride and recommended he add Mt Samuel. You guys will love it. Your trip looks epic.
@@brentbat the 701 guy is my friend but i get tom’s friend wr250 (nick) even more of a challenge i guess
@@mototrailz Oh Yeah, Nerb mentioned there was a couple of WR250s going....OMG You guys must be masochists doing 28 days and big distances on your 250s. Better you than me.
@@brentbat unless you let me rent your 701 😉 I have a 690 in Portugal. Such an amazing bike 🔥

Great video's Brent, I agree, you've done a fantastic job of documenting your rides and sharing it with the world.
I will be buying a Husky 701 later this year and getting out and about myself.
Getting hold of the OEM LR tank kit is not going to be easy or fast so I'll have explore other options in the interim.
I look forward to seeing more from you.
Would you be able to share which drone you have or recommend please Brent?
Great job 👍🇦🇺😊
Hey Scott, Glad you are getting a 701, I love that bike. Regarding fuel options, there are a ton out there... I've been using the standard tank for the last year and only needed to carry a bladder once, but I think I'm going to fit the 6L Rade tank under the seat.
@Brent Pearson thanks for your reply Brent, yeah the Trade Garage one gives you 5.9litres after you remove the OEM air-box, and you can get an IMS set too but then you have a fuel cap for each side although they should have a cross feed balance tube. Also going to get a Twin Air tank strainer to filter any rubbish out.
Yes there's plenty of options. Can't wait! 😀🤙
Brent... wash your mouth out.... "Best Adventure Ride" in SA.... no way ! 😀
Watching the Skydio dodge in and out, under and over its an amazing piece of kit.
We’ll…. Do share. What rides are better than Mt Samuel? I want to ride them. 😀
loved the video, your production is a bit better than mine, hang on heaps better. I followed a couple of postie bikes through Mt Samuel, crazy buggers
That would have been Kipo and Slatts. Ango, Mt Samuel and return in about an hour.
@@timdunn2387 Spot on Tim & Emu on the big KTM as back up
@@KaneTerry Emu; now THERE is a unit. Top bloke too.
Hay mate 4 or 5 of us are doing the Flinders in September, would love you to lead our ride and take us to all the cool 😎 places you went , we are all older guys in our 50,s that have been riding most of our life’s on and off road . But it’s fantastic to have someone that has done a ride to an area before so you don’t waste time wondering 💭 we’re to go etc . Yes we have ideas seen the maps watched all the utube flinders rides but first hand knowledge is priceless. I could even get the guys to throw you some coin 🪙 to cover some of your costs etc . We don’t have locked 🔒 in date yet .
Hey there. Thanks for the kind offer, but unfortunately I'm going to be overseas riding a couple of BDRs. However, you have my videos, and I've posted the gpx files all the trails I rode... and I'm more than happy to answer any questions or help out as you plan the trip. Flinders is amazing. So if you want to ask questions or run your itinerary past me, just drop me an email at brentbat@gmail.com
Brent
@@brentbat thanks 🙏 mate I definitely will .
Fabulous ride, great job on the footage, I have been to Flinders a few times , heading there again soon. Would you have a GPX file of the Mt Samual track ?
Cheers Timm
Hey Timm, yes, sure thing, drop me an email at brentbat@gmail.com
Brent - fantastic video. Great story telling. Quick question - what handlebar mount do you use for your skydio2 beacon?
I use this one.
www.amazon.com/Handlebar-Mount-Skydio-2-Beacon/dp/B0845NHRMC/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2K8OJSFL6T3JU&keywords=skydio+2+handlebar+mount+beacon&qid=1653170535&sprefix=skydio+2+handlebar+mount+beacon%2Caps%2C150&sr=8-1
Great videos, amazing effort
We are heading to skytrek in June and doing a 6 days ride around the flinders.
just wondering if you could share some of the gpx files
Thanks
I'm pretty sure the gpx files are downloadable from the description of the video. If not, drop me an email at brentbat@gmail.com
Really good video, @ 15:45 there is some sounds of the cops in the middle of no where tho 🤔
Great video work. That's a fab drone you've got. Could you do those tracks in a reasonable 4x4 (Like say a Prado, with A/T tyres)? Towing a small camper trailer?
You could definitely do all the tracks in a 4x4 if it has low range an d reasonable clearance. The tougher tracks are loops, so I'd park up the trailer at one of the camp sites and do the more technical tracks with just the 4X4.
Beautiful scenery for sure! The mountain range is amazing. What are the peaks there 4000 feet? Best!
Mt Damuel is 755m. So only about 2200ft
👍
