Statfold Barn Railway: Enthusiast Weekend: Summer Spectacle of Steam: 10th of June 2023

The Statfold Barn Railway, located northeast of Tamworth, opened its doors once more to punters for their weekend event titled 'Summer Spectacle of Steam'. Whilst there were fewer locomotives in this lineup compared to their March event, the action remained unchanged with a plethora of consists running up and down the 2ft railway all day. This event saw the UK running debut of wood burner Fowler 0-4-0 no 'Nov 11'.
Compared to the dismal rain of the March event, there was hardly a cloud to be seen in the sky, for the weather on the day was bright and sunny throughout -albeit it was very hot indeed- so this time, my camcorder did all the work! The open nature of the park itself allows for many unique and interesting vantage points along the running line for covering the action, which I made use of definitely. Also covered in this video, which I forgot on my first visit, is the recently opened 'Mease Valley Light Railway'.

Overall, a superb day out at one of the best railway centres in the country. The high level of action and openness of the place makes it what it is, and hopefully, it will continue this formula for years to come.
