Sweet Indian Steam - Summer Enthusiasts Weekend
    Sunday 12th June 2022
Hudswell Clarke (Works No. 1172 of 1922) 0-6-0PT Alpha was celebrating its centenary at the summer Statfold Gala. Alpha worked hauling Sugar Cane for the Ryam Sugar Company at Bihar in India, as did fellow Statfold resident Danvenport (Works No. 1586 of 1917) 0-4-0 Ryam Sugar No. 1. Completing the India line up was Sharp Stewart (Works No. 3518 of 1889) 0-4-0ST Darjeeling & Himalayan Railway 19B / All-India 778 visiting from the Beeches Light Railway.
The Indian celebration was complimented by sideshows and stalls, with the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway Society (DHRS) in attendance. Oak Tree Halt became Sukna Station for the weekend with a market bazaar to add to the atmosphere, Samosas and Chai tea where sold to passengers arriving and departing from Sukna Station. There were also 16mm scale DHR locomotives running.
The events featured the usual intensive service of passenger on freight runs. At the end of the video we feature some unused footage from the 30742 Charter with DHR 19B.

Excellent video. The Sunday was an excellent end to the event. That was me shunting the set with carabasset at the end of the day. I'm glad you were able to get some excellent footage as Saturday's weather was hit and miss

Quite an impressive bark from the little Darjeeling engine there! Very impressive and nice video Lee. I hope the little garden railway runs soon.
