  • Many people who grow up in church are taught to have a daily “quiet time” with the Lord. But is that time enough to yield real development as followers of Christ?

I notice her definition of quite time here is specifically scripture related. This is not to say we should not be staying in constant prayer and have "quiet time" each day (several times a day) simply in prayer, casting our cares, listening to the Holy Spirit, reflecting on His goodness. That is vital to love God with all of our heart as well as theological knowledge to love God with all of mind.

Rightly said.. Have quiet time daily along with 1 or 2 days of in-depth study regularly per week at least so that we can grow in wisdom ourselves.. I depended on devotionals at lot.. And that's not a bad thing.. But now I want God to speak directly to me

Unfortunately "quite time" has become works. Too often it becomes religious striving to tick a box rather than coining with the Father.

As soon as it was night, the brothers sent Paul and Silas away to Berea. One arriving there they went to the Jewish synagogue. Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the scriptures everyday to see if what Paul said was true. Many of the Jews believed, as did also a number of prominent Greek women and many Greek men. Acts 17:10-12 here we see we are too eagerly examine the scriptures everyday. "Quiet time" is my most intimate time with God.

These are the kinds of women who are being raised up to teach the daughters of Sarah. The title alone should give pause to anyone seeking the Lord. ❤ If you are born again, you will starve if you do not hear and study God’s word. People try to act as if they have “special knowledge “ and speak with authority over you and try to be the Holy Spirit in your life. Take caution. ⚠️

you don't have to be a Theologian to become a Christian. you can draw closer to god by reading an appying these to your daily living. That is scripture. There are teachings that are not of this culture or error meaning this is of the olden day before christ Allegedly.

I have been playing scripture on my Iphone while unloading dishwasher, folding laundry or raking leaves, just a suggestion, I think it’s ok to multitask this way.

Exactly! I think she focuses more on knowledge than on the Bible transforming us. I don't believe God's point in the book of Judges was for us to take a pop quiz on the facts. It is important for us to recognize the sin cycle Israel had during the time of the Judges. We need to recognize our own sin and that there are consequences to our choices. But just like God did for Israel, when we turn back to Him He delivers us.
