I created the Nordic war Stripes for Volvo Motorsport (VMS) back in January 86 for the VMS Ras Sport ETCC group A program after designing the 85 VMS ETCC Eggenberger and MPM liveries i spent more time getting the angle of the stripes right than anything else ... The NWS was designed over 6 weeks The stripes are taken from the Valkyrie helmet wing and the colors are,, light blue is Swedish Blue ... the medium blue is old 86 Volvo Corp blue, the dark blue is the blue from the Danish and Norwegian flags and the black for the race track and VMS the forward movement represents the movement froward on the race track and the varying blues also represent the varying blues of the sea surrounding the Scandinavian countries White is integrity and the snow which covers the Scandinavian countries Black trim for contrast.. light blue medium dark blue was also chosen as they scan well on television cameras see
I reckon you're the joker John Amundsen, I can tell you that you've not designed/created ANYTHING for Volvo. The best touch was this: "The dark blue is the blue from the Danish and Norwegian flags", as there's NO blue in the Danish flag as its red/white, however Norwegian flag does contains some blue.
