This car I was very impressed with. Wonderful ride and quite beautiful on a set of wide white walls.

I see this model has the stereo factory upgrade. I love that equalizer. I just bought one of these a few years ago with 21k miles on it. Original paint job. It looks brand new and belongs in a museum, not my garage. But it's the only car I own. It was my daily driver while I lived down in the Appalachian Mountains doing journalism. Got quite the looks pulling up in this thing. Put 10,000 miles on it working in the news business, and I felt and loved every mile of it. I collected and made my own cassette tapes, cruised the mountains, drove it at top speed riding down the gorge with a biker escort, showed up to get interviews, showed up to crime scenes in it.
This is a car for people who want a comfortable car, and a good looking car, that was Chrysler's most expensive undertaking up to that point. it's basically like showing up in a suit. You get out of it kind of sorry that the ride is over, and excited to come back to it after the function. If day turns to night, it warmly welcomes you in how the opera lighting would hit the velour.
It was actually too conspicuous in such a small town. With a flashy two-tone paintjob, I became known as the writer in the big car. I live in the city now, and I garaged it again. I can't wait to take a vacation though, and just get back in my Chrysler and drive. Everything still works. The car is a treasure.

When this car was first introduced, it was a New Yorker with "Fifth Avenue Edition" badge on the rear door. Later, when the New Yorker name was applied to the front wheel drive "k car," Chrysler renamed the "m body" the Fifth Avenue. Interesting (or amusing) that the badge was unchanged on the door, that it was a "Fifth Avenue Edition" of a Fifth Avenue! 😂

Had one almost identical to this one. Same year and color. The only differences were mine had leather seats and a different radio. It also didn't have the red pinstripes

This is not a body on frame architecture, it's a unibody
