Yes I agree but Landau has been part of many bands apart from being a session player and he fits well in any music situation bc he is very musical , and he doesn’t have to play thousands of notes all the time . His harmonic and melodic sense on the guitar is at a masters level and his note phrasing is impeccable

If most pop singers actually sang live and didn't lipsync, you'd hear more performances like this. Many singers' voices are doctored in post-production on studio recordings.

I disagree. The "missing" sound you heard was him expressing the utmost feel and not letting the original part get stale. Power chords through the whole chorus would have been extremely boring. Sure it would of filled up the sound and probably sounded more like the original recording but this part is a true example of why Mike landau is a beast. He has more feel than just about anyone out there.
