      Haha yes I think it does! Another cool Arizona city is Flagstaff, and we have tons of little towns with character (all of which I hope to make videos on). One of my favorite places in Arizona for character is Sedona, but it’s so overrun with tourists these days, it’s gotten totally expensive. Thanks for checking out the channel! I appreciate the view and comment!

    Hey Kim,
    Brilliant Video. First time writing, though, I've been subscribed for the last 7 months.
    I call myself Native Tucsonan, but I moved to California in 19990. I moved to Tucson in 1974, and attended primary and secondary school here.
    My Family is still in Tucson, so I'm back often.
    Brilliant series you've going on here. As a native, You nail it, in each and every video. Like many, I'm going to be looking for a home here in the next year or so. As such, your information has been invaluable.
    Keep them coming. They are watched and appreciated Girl !

    My husband and I toured Colossal Cave during our visit back in June. It's amazing and highly recommend going. We had a wonderful tour guide who is very knowledge about the cave and it's history. It was definitely one of the highlights of our time there. Looking forward to coming back in a couple months with our son. I want to show him the airplane boneyard and the Air and Space museum. We're also going back to Tombstone and spending a day in Bisbee.

    Tucson has an extensive bicycling route system. Unfortunately, Aviation Bikeway has been clearly neglected. That also only accounts for about 15 of the estimated 136 miles of bikeways, greenways, and what's known as 'The Loop,' a path along the Santa Cruz and Rillito River beds that also stretch out along the Pantano Wash on Tucson's Eastside. In conclusion, Tucson has an effective route system for bicycles to reach out into the surrounding communities in Oro Valley and Marana.
    Another good use for the Greenway Routes in Tucson is during the Gem & Mineral Show. There's a lot of ground to cover and the show takes up areas all over town from the Kino Sports Complex on the Southside, to the Tucson Convention Center Downtown. All along the freeway and about the town around different warehouses, the Gem Show every February is considered the largest Gem, Mineral, and Fossils exhibition in the world and people from at least 72 different countries are usually in attendance to showcase their collections from around the globe.

    • @TucsonArizona
      @TucsonArizona  Před 2 lety +2

      Green Valley is a suburb of Tucson and I haven’t made a video about that one yet but I need to. In general it is a retirement type community with a lot of retirees there and a lot of 55+ subdivisions but you do not have to be retired or 55+ to live there. It is close to (just south of) the small town of Sahuarita.

      We love us some snakes here!

    • @AZbarbu1
      @AZbarbu1 Před 2 lety

      Yes, we do have some snakes here. But in my experience, they are more afraid of you. They tend to hunt their prey by exploring rock piles and dense brush areas. One learns to walk or explore in more open areas, as well as using "walking sticks", disturbing the growth/rocks ahead of you. Snakes tend to be more dangerous to pets. Dogs must be kept on leads when taken for walks - if one runs over to see a snake in the brush, the snake will strike defensively. The results can be deadly. Take sensible precautions - never walk nor put you hand on a tree limb when you cannot see what is there. Lived here 20 years next to a major wash - never been bit, but am always cautious. BTW, lots of animal life here that is unique and wonderful. We have raven couples that chatter back and forth as they drift overhead. Deer and javelina family groups can show up at any time. Coyote family groups go on howling choruses particularly late at night (our neighborhood has a pack that usually break into song about 3am - it may wake you up, but it's oddly comforting... )
