  • Testing the motion system on my newly-built RatRig V-Core 3. I repurposed the frame of my old Hypercube to build this printer with a custom 400mm x 300mm build plate.Runs and SKR Pro v1.2 and Klipper firmware. The Tilt Adjust feature probes the bed at each lead screw pivot point, and then automatically adjusts the height at each point to level the bed. It will make a few passes until the variance is within the set deviation (set to .02mm).

    good choice :) For a 2020-frame, using the printed parts from the v-core pro 1.3 might prove to be easier, as they were made for 2020 and 2040 extrusions. One suggestion: Slap the spring steel on. I get you are probing against aluminum, and that takes about 40% from the range of the probe.

    Where did you source your parts? Doesn't look like from ratrig parts. I'm planning to build one.

      I was able to re-use some parts from my old printer, and then sourced all of the other parts from various US vendors, and made the printed parts on my i3 printer.

    The motors seem quite noisy at least on video. Are these tmc silent steppers or is the noise from elsewhere?

      I have silent TMC2209, but I'm using 0.9 degree stepper motors on X and Y. They are louder than the standard 1.8 degree motors that come with the stock kit.

      you just need to set it up in the Klipper config. it's similar to the BLtouch config - uses the same pin address, just make sure you include the "^" in front for the pull-up resistor, and check your connector cable to make sure the signal and ground pins are going to the correct spots on the SKR. If you need help, I can send you that section of my config.

      @@mikey631 also may I ask, how heavy is the probe itself?

    Are you using threadless ballscrew?

    • @mikey631
      @mikey631  Před 3 lety +1

      No, I'm using the standard T8*4 lead screws that are spec'd with the kit.
