I used to be a die-hard RockShox fan. I've used anything from the Reba to the SID World Cup.

Sam's rides good forks.. MARZOCCHI and FOX ... after growing up in a bike shop fixing so many blown up leaking , cracked, bent steerer tubes, rock shox... I would feel bad selling anyone a rockshox. So hearing this guy talk up a rockshox is really hard to listen too. When I buy new bikes. It's always got FOX and MARZOCCHI or I don't even look at it.

@@endurotruckererniedesjardins had something from all 3. had fox 32 factory kashima, when it worked it felt like nothing ever before but after one season it was buggered, no resistance, no adjustments work anymore, just bouncing up and down, had a singlecrown version of rockshox domain, did two seasons and even rode in the winter, things an absolute unit, takes any beating and didn't fail at all, not much to adjust but feels alright, from marzocchi i had the 55 not for long so cant tell much about reliability but the feeling was so far the least favorite, it was heavy, bulky, not precise, slow, made that whoosh whoosh open oil bath sound, does the job but that's about it, if I was willing to put up with expensive and frequent service I would get a fox, but in real life a rockshox treated me better

The bike is solid and my Ebike conversion went great. czcams.com/users/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L Very smooth ride at 30mph with no problems (135 miles ridden so far). The picture is a bit deceiving - there is WAY less space in the center of the frame than it shows. The suspension connection takes up the entire thing. So I needed to attach my battery on the bottom of the frame and my controller on the top. Instructions for assembly were lacking but honestly it wasn't too hard to figure out even though I have very little bike knowledge. Watched some youtube videos on adjusting the disk brakes but that was it. Still, I am loving it and very happy with the purchase.

The "Best," upgrade, is the one upgrade you can afford. Sometimes it is necessary to purchase a complete bike model that is slightly more expensive & has better components. You'll be satisfied. I use Suntour Aion 35 boost & Axon 32. Ignore the rich & shameless that ignore any component below a $Grand.
I've been biking the Adirondacks & Canada, for over twenty years. Only use 8 & 9 speed components. And Suntour forks, always cushions the impacts. What you are basically paying for in anything is the "Name & Logo." Not quality. Remember that.

Then look at where the lower bearing race sits above the crown... is it a whole bunch bigger or 1 1/8th inch diameter like the stem area. If its 1 1/8th all the way it's not tapered.
