- Ze zaten midden in een grote tour toen de coronacrisis uitbrak. De wereldberoemde Nederlandse band Within Temptation moest de tour noodgedwongen stoppen, maar heeft toch net hun nieuwe single 'Entertain You' uitgebracht.
Wow. this special song arrangement is even crazier and much sexier. The song deserves a more futuristic, creepy, electronic kind of stage design and visual effects to play with

Sharon never ceases to amaze me with her voice no matter the style. I absolutely love how Within Temptation has evolved over the years. Stunning music made by stunning people. They all work well together and have impressed me since day one for me, 15 years ago.

Some people say Sharon’s lost her voice but thats only because they come across videos uploaded with potato quality. This is just another piece of proof she and the band are still a freakin Awesome and Talented bunch. Thank you for the upload!
Lol. Very true though.
I think that in live performance her voice is far worse than in the records. I also think that this is because when she's on stage she moves a lot (if you look at any live performance, she spends the whole show jumping around), and so she lose control of her voice. In this video she is standing still, and in fact her voice is much better.
That said, every time they play near my city I go listen them, because when you are under the stage and you sing and jump with her you don't care about these details.

Very cool electronic sound here. I'm really feeling it. Different vibe from the single version but it works really well. I'm really into The Knife and Phantogram and this is flirting with the sound those bands offer. I hope we get a few weird/trippy video visuals from this era...

Wow this Musical Arrangement is very different, i actually am enjoy it. I think the percussion needs to be more in it but other then that its very interesting.
This rendition of the song really made me think of the direction Bring Me The Horizon took with "Amo", which I loved a lot. Although I became a fan of WT for their epic and symphonic sound, I really like these more modern experimentations too.

I love and cherish every album they have made. The change in style was intense with every record. Enter, the dance, mother earth, the silent force, the heart of everything, the unforgiving, hydra, resist. TSF and THOE being the closer together stylistically than the rest.
And if a band develops away from your preferences it's always sad. But just listen to their older stuff then or search for other music that pleases your preferences. But it's super insulting just to say "no." or "I want them to make music like 15 years ago".
They create and produce music on a very high level. They did with every record they released. All very sophisticated and authentic. That should be respected no matter if you personally like it or not. There is some really bad and generic music. But this band is very far away from that.
And even if music is bad and generic, if there are people who enjoy it, it has purpose.
Besides why would they want to release the same album twice?
If you don't wanna be criticized then don't go public. Since their music is for "everyone" not only for people that will like no matter what they do, they must assume and respect the opinion of everyone, whether they like it or not.

I think there is plenty of irony in this song's composition, because in modern era, synthetic sounds are exactly what is used to entertain and please people.

Though you did have a point on saying it pleases most people...the rest just complain because tastes differ and/or cannot cope with the band’s new approach. Thats who the song is for ... the people who whine that not everyone caters to their entitled asses... especially artists « How dare you not entertain me by not making the music I enjoy?! »

We can not like it. What's our thoughts on it. Not yours. I do love WT and I have bought the older music. I wear them out (CD) so I have a few copies of all of the older music. We're not bad or wrong for not liking it. Just sounds and looks not to my liking. I still love the band.

They never classified themselves as symohonic metal to begin with. The real Within Temptation always do exactly what they want, not what a bunch of fake fans expect them to do.

Sharon previously said on the run-up they felt they had exhausted everything Symphonic had to offer.
@@furi7619 I understand that... Within Temptation won't be symphonic metal like it used to be. They have evolved so much album after album. BUT... If you take "The Unforgiving" the band was starting on a good evolution on something more modern. Then with "Hydra" and especially "Resist" it became worse... It doesn't have the soul of Within Temptation at all anymore, simple tracks, very even too much Rock FM drowned in the synthesizer sounds. Maybe I'm getting a bit carried away, but I'm really struggling with the evolution of the band and it saddens me to see how my favourite band evolves like that... However I'm very open musically to other music other than the Metal genre but there's something missing to catch ... For me "The Heart Of Everything" is the last album of the band where their sound is really present and perfect. Well...
Coming back to the subject of symphonic style, I think that WT has not been in the same vein as Epica or Nightwish. They had really found a good combination between symphonic and modern sound. But that's not the case anymore. I'm struggling with the album "Resist" and when I see this single I'm really worried about the evolution of the band ...
