    I love this method because it seems to prevent constantly flipping from the back to the front; I get hung up just flipping back and forth, back to front- I’m directionally challenged that way. I’m trying to streamline the entire system: creating the blocks, then joining the blocks for one row, then joining the rows. So my question is, am I correct in assuming that I could connect an entire row simply with stitching from the backside, then flip the entire row over and do the same for the front?

    • @SewGrannySew
      @SewGrannySew  Před 4 měsíci +1

      That is how I do it, as long as the back is a narrower strip so the front strip hides the stitching. If you leave a 1/4" seam allowance on the backing fabric of each square, you could also just seam the back together and then do the front strip. I will try to do a quick video on that tonight and have that posted for you tomorrow😉 Thank you so much for your question and for viewing🥰🌹

    Hat about the finishing edge of the whole quilt. What do you do if you want to put on a boarder? I have that problem now with my quilt. I want to put an boarder on it instead of binding.

    • @SewGrannySew
      @SewGrannySew  Před 5 měsíci +1

      I think if you wanted to add a border, it would have to be an individual unit as the blocks are. Just do one side at a time that is width of border by width of quilt top after connecting inner blocks. Then do width of border by length of quilt top with top and bottom borders connected. I hope this makes sense😉

    • @corrieboomgaard9205
      @corrieboomgaard9205 Před 5 měsíci +1

      Thank you I shall try that. Sew the boarders individually and then sew them onto the quilt similar to doing the sashing
      . Is that correct?

    • @SewGrannySew
      @SewGrannySew  Před 5 měsíci

    Hi, I have a question. I’m trying to put blocks together that have been Embroidered with batting in the middle and backing and have been quilted I’m trying to put them together and I’m wanting to do your technique but I’m not quite understanding when you put the back on your strip. Do you sew it on the fold like biased tape?

    • @SewGrannySew
      @SewGrannySew  Před 16 dny +1

      If you are using a 1" strip it would be the 1/4" mark, if that makes sense? So, if you iron it as you do bias, it would land on the 1/4" gold line. Hope this helps some😉
