Thanks KC..... Doing a huge leaded Cross.... I found you video helpful. I seen people leave the whiting on for 4 hours before brushing off?
Glad you are finding the videos helpful! Ya you definitely don’t need to leave whiting on that long. It’s only purpose is to soak up excess oil and help polish/clean up your lead. Just a few minutes is plenty of time for it to do its job!

Yes, I use black patina on the solder.
Can we use ordinary building cement?
Like normal cement mix? Definitely not. It would end up cracking and fall out. Possibly completely scratching up the glass. And would not adhere to the lead and glass for sufficient water resistance and longevity.
Is possible cement stained glass made with copper foil technique? or how can you reinforce those? Thanks :D
No need to cement foil. You can use Re-Strip to reinforce foil or steel rebar.

Do you need to polish the lead after you finish (like you do with a copper foil piece) to protect the lead from turning white? Or does the cement somehow do that?
Yes you do! The easiest way to polish lead is to take a soft bristle brush and some elbow grease and give it a good scrub. It will darken the lead and shine up very nice!

@@kriswiseman4499 no wax, just good ol’ elbow grease!
Softwood saw dust is pretty good to clean the glass, remove flux and polish the lead. Just put a generous amount of it and rub it with your hand.
The lead and solder were magically black in final shots. Did I miss the patina step?
You did not miss it 😊 I will be making a seperate tutorial on polishing.

I don't particularly like the idea of using a respirator . can't any other type of cement be used ?????????🤔🤔🤔🤔
Not necessarily, needs to be able to stick to glass and lead for over 50+ years to be properly waterproofed and stabilized.
