    Now I make sure there is time in my day to watch your videos at least twice (usually more), once for the great production value and again to catch all the great tips and tricks you have in there. I have been a woodworker for almost forty years and have been attempting to get good at leather for a couple ... you are an inspiration.. I have an 850 sq/ft shop but your studio is a lesson in efficiency and just a plain cool place to work. Keep the great content coming!!!

    So glad I subscribed. I love your video editing, i.e. dumping the rivets and burrs on the bench for example. That one and all of them are neat touches you add to your videos. Plus your work is exceptional. Shows me what I have to aspire to in my skill and learning!

    If i make a hole through thick leather i use a drill. It's run better.

    • @MasconLeather
      @MasconLeather  Před 11 dny

      I do NOT remove leather (i.e. drill a hole) unless absolutely necessary. My rule of thumb is to not remove leather. It weakens it.

    Do you have a list of the tools you use and a source? For example the metal rings of all sizes? Beautiful work! Thanks, J-D

    • @MasconLeather
      @MasconLeather  Před 5 lety +2

      Metal rings. Some are by wind fire designs (just google that). A great tool resource is zeebee leathers blog. He has the greatest list ever. Head to his website and look on his blog.

    Love your videos, I've learned so much from your videos and love using the jigs i bought from you. What weight leather is used? I tried 5/6 oz and it seems way to thick . Thanks

    • @MasconLeather
      @MasconLeather  Před 3 lety +1

      Thanks for the kind words and support!!! Yeah, I use 5/6 oz but it’s VERY thick. My clients now expect it. It’s not standard at all.

    Mascon. Nice video. I follow on Instagram too. Did you make those taller aluminum squares to aid in cutting the leather? If not where did you get them? They look so handy!

    • @MasconLeather
      @MasconLeather  Před 5 lety +2

      The aluminum bars? Just off eBay. 1” x 1/4”. And cut a bunch to about 12” long, 6” long, etc. super handy. The “Mascon Method”. Lol

    what are those rivets called? i been wantn to try them. are they better than rapid rivets?

    • @MasconLeather
      @MasconLeather  Před 5 lety +1

      Solid copper (or brass sometimes). Better? 10 times stronger or more. But a lot more effort (and practice ) to install.
