Luke 5:1-11 - Jesus calls his first disciples

In Luke 5:1-11, we witness an extraordinary encounter between Jesus and his soon-to-be disciples. As Jesus stands by the Lake of Gennesaret (also known as the Sea of Galilee), a crowd presses in to hear the word of God. Among them are fishermen who have toiled all night without catching anything. Jesus, seeing Simon's boat, asks him to push it out a little from the shore. From there, Jesus teaches the crowd.
