Keep in mind, too, that Lindsey Vonn required 395 races to reach 82 World Cup wins while Makaela needed only 233. Truly the greatest skier - male or female - ever.
I don’t know the veracity of your math but I accept your calculation at face value. Ms. Shiffrin will soon become the greatest alpine skiing champion of all time and we should bow in her presence for her grace, humility and skill but we mustn’t diminish the achievements of her forebearers.
From Gretchen Fraser and Andrea Mead Lawrence to Janette Burr, and the great Lindsey Vonn it is testament to courage, strength, and focus that these
American women women ruled their world.
Keep in mind, the races Vonn participated in as well. Downhill takes a larger toll on the body and is a harder discipline to win at consistently.
Those were quite the words of wisdom, coming from this incredible athlete

She is a true wonder woman, helping us understand how exciting is pushing human body beyond limits, every single turn makes me feel like my heart is going up to thousand beats a second and Mika is breaking the second to pieces, sports competitions are giving us such special emotions that worth all the money in the world, yeah, let's just follow the inner feelings, having FAITH and obey our hearts because this is what makes us feel trully humans friends, big loving hug Mika, frankly l love all skiing athlets, l love all young dreamers that still believe, sports make us become a better human specie, sports competitions are teaching us how to be enemies for fun, nobody must die for a healthy rivalry, we learn to improve each other competing
I like her advice about finding something that speaks to you or motivates you inside apart from external praise, discipline, etc. It's one thing for a highly focused athelete like this so try to see their fans as largely, maybe somewhat lost and/or self interested, that they have problems, and want to motivate, inspire them. To say like to the newscasters, 'I wish you guys could experience some of this!'.. instead of focusing only on self discipline and that of others, to want to bring some of them along, like a food blogger saying 'hey guys, you've got to check out this sandwich!' To actually want others to come along, maybe you picture guys like Bode Miller, or tennis champs thinking more like this(picking random relatable figures), but this is sort of inspiring.

Humble articulate likable beautiful and soon to be the greatest skier ever. Yet a major interview with her gets less views than some cat videos. She, like Stenmark, makes it look too easy. I guess she just has to win more Olympic gold before most people care.

she isnt equaling Stenmarks record she is only reaching the same number of ski race wins while competing with other women... Of course Stenmarks record was racing only with other men and Mikaela is only always racing in events restricted to being with other women... but thats not to say i dont think Mikaela could do well competing in a ski race with the men but if she were to win 86 races against them like Stenmark did then that would be extremely impressive ! Until then lets stop trying to say she is about to surpass Ingemar Stenmark because even if she wins another 500 womens only races i dont think thats going to be the case regardless of what the media wants to try to hype up about it..

Mikaela is about to win more races than he ever did *against people with the same physical potential for strength* as she has. It's not any less impressive than Stenmark, who is a man that competed against men with the same potential for strength. It's like you're saying that a professional lightweight boxer can't truly claim that he's more successful than a heavyweight boxer who's won less fights . That in order to consider himself equally successful, he needed to have won as many fights against a heavyweight. And that's asinine. Stenmark had the same strength potential as the skiers he competed with, just the same as Mikaela did.
