Baz would you take Barkley and Lukaku back for decent prices
I think a youthful back bone will be key for us next season. Players like garner, onana, branthwaite and mcniel. Paired with experience with tarks, pickford and Coleman will be good
Apart from Branthwate, whos the most likely to get minutes - Mills, Warrington, Simms, Cannon as you'd hope we could get a homegrown player coming through
Be interesting to see what happens with onana mate. He's a superstar of the future for sure but can we afford to keep him or will a big enough bid in come for him (heard arsenal were interested but doubt they will be after spending 90mil on rice)

I agree with Baz, Myko isn’t great but he’s solid and McNeil has proven he could be the attacking LB in games when we need him to. If we get another winger or two I’d like to see him playing there in games when we are chasing looking for a goal
Also on the topic of attack I’d like one of Diallo or Elanga on loan plus someone like a Lukebakio who can play upfront or on the right. Out and out number 1 striker is a MUST

I think 2 strikers is a must, if we can get those 2, Dembele and Olunga on free transfers it would be a great start. Apart from that I think we need someone to play in that SS or AMC role if Doucoure is unavailable or allow Doucoure to play further back. Someone like Yuri Alberto who we were linked with a few weeks ago. Or Perhaps Brennan Johnson, can play RW or AMC, think he will be too much money though. Need a LB to push Mykolenko.
We have recouped 70 million in the sales of Anthony Gordon to Newcastle for 45 million and Moise Kean to Juventus for 25 million, so I would buy 2 or 3 young pacey forwards with that money

Here is my list of guys that need replacing. Keane,DCL,Davis,Grey,and godfrey. I can see a couple of Leicsters star strikers come over and a good midfielder from somewhere.
We shouldn't be going for an understudy to DCL. Instead we should be looking for someone who is better than him. As of now there is no competition for DCL in this team
When we are narrowly surviving in the league by one single goal. I can understand why managers are worried about risking any margin on youngsters getting their go. When we get our shit together and start competing looking to a mid table breath of fresh air then I can understand why a manager would feel relaxed enough to risk those margins. The fact remains that we are bogged down with a disaster of a team who make easy games look impossible to win. Thelwell has to sort this and it begins with players coming in and making this team capable of winning more than it loses.
Also nick the roof sheeting is the first skin then they will overlap it with the finished sheet after 👍

The amount of comments on TD you would think he played more than about 5% of available play time. Midfield is probably the only stable section of the roster. Focus on strikers in first, not our 5th best CM

A RW, LB and ST that all are a similar quality to the Tarkowski signing and we'll be fine.

You need to look at players that can cement a Premier league survival. Pulisic etc
The academy isn't effective as it should be. We need to be putting bigger emphasis into the development and producing more player's that can really push for the first team.
Keeping Davies is nothing short of senseless. What is the point of keeping a player that everyone accepts is not good enough to play in the Premier League? Every player should be competing for a place in the first team.
They shouldn’t all be though, that’s just idealistic nonsense. Even the best team in the world have squad players who never play. Davies is basically the midfield version of Lonergan, he’s only there incase of an injury crisis

I don't think we're a million miles away..if we could have picked 3 more wins up at home from the likes of Southampton and Fulham etc we'd have been much better off. If Dom gives his head a wobble and we get some playing time out of him,then get a decent back up (not Maupay) then a right winger, you're looking at 15-20 goals more a season. If we can get to 40 points by Feb it will be a big step forward. Ps..its the hope that kills you 🤣

The only justification for keeping Davies is to flog him for a few million next year.
Unless we're in the Championship, he's not good enough to keep, even as a squad player.
We've got Iwobi, Garner, Gana, Onana and Doucoure who are all ahead of him.
If we bring in a couple of proper wingers and forwards, there could be only two positions in the middle, so 5 seniors for 2 positions is enough. If we did need a spare, I'd much rather put Lewis Warrington or another U21 there.
This also feeds into your discussion on players like Price. If we keep seniors in the squad who are patently not good enough, it's another block in the pathway for talented kids.

We need to be using Simms as a makeweight to sign Gyökeres from Coventry or Clarke from Sunderland.
There needs to be more emphasis on succession planning which has to come from the Ownership/DOF. Just look at what Brighton and Brentford have done. Would love to have an owner like Tony Bloom or Matthew Benham.

Now that we’ve survived by the skin of our teeth once again I see that some people have put their rose tinted glasses on once again. The likes of Tom Davies and a number of others in the squad are good championship players at best and if we don’t improve the quality of our squad then we will be in for another ground hog day season once again 🙄🤦♂️
