The guy was so shocked that he made a short tv series (6 episodes) about his journey on whether or not his great great grandfather actually was the Ripper. The show is "American Ripper in London" (10/10 would recommend)

One of the little know facts of the Ripper murders is that there were those in London police force who wondered if the murders were committed by the same person from 4 years early in Austin, Texas where a series of brutal murders occurring exactly 1 year from Dec 1884 to Dec 1885 in Austin, Texas. Although nearly forgotten in modern times, those murders were headline news in the US from coast to coast, and reported overseas to such places as Britain. The killer was never caught, but he was called by many names such as Midnight Assassin or Servant Girl Annihilator
I believe Jack was a cousin of the Queen at the time. His name escapes me. He had surgical skill and he was locked in the castle for mental illness. The killings stopped when he was locked away.

I think Jack the Ripper was actually two people Fred Deeming (35 year old at the time) and his sidekick Arron kosminski (23 year old at the time). Fred killed the canonical 5, probably with Arron and Arron killed the other 6. The reason why Arron kosminski DNA came up (not to long ago) was because he was more careless then Fred. Fred wore gloves etc. But both of them were the killers.
@Saucy Jack obviously not…just my theory, I just think Arron was the lookout, maybe saw Fred kill the first one, and then became his sidekick. Fred was a jet setter, he was always on the move, they had nothing in common, but I just think they both loved to kill, both were mad, and both hated women.
@Saucy Jack too true, but you have to remember Fred was probably gone within the week or 2, leaving Arron behind….so even if Arron grassed up Fred, he wasn’t there (left the country by then) and then being foreigner they would of just put the blame on him. He would of been hanged, drawn and quartered. It’s easier when there’s 2 of them, one was a lookout and the other killed, so no one would of caught them. I definitely believe Jack the Ripper was more then 1 person, it would of had to been 2 people. Iv always had premonitions that it was them 2…like seriously visions of it. I can see it vividly in my sleep. It’s a scary thought.

Like I said though it’s only because they were drawn to each other I believe, because Arron saw him kill the first one, then was intrigued by what he saw, so they became a double act. With Fred being older and a complete psycho, he had no other option but to let Arron in on his secret, therefore being there at the times of when he killed the others, maybe let him in on it and helped him kill as well.

Not quite if Jack was the genius he was made out to be he could navigate his surroundings in the modern world and make notes of the cameras on every angle and try to find a opening for a quick escape. Given he usually strikes when heavy fog obscures ones sights. And if by chance there is underground passages in the area it would also have to be done at the right timing so less people are walking about. It would be hard but if someone with his mindset could adapt to our modern time it possibly could be done. Though i doubt any would be foolish to try to be a Jack copycat
He would most definitely get caught in today’s age because we have the better technology to find people much more effectively and quicker and use cameras(bringing that up since someone had mentioned cameras already) and can find out who do what with CSI and lie detectors

I think Jack the ripper could've been a police officer because he knew the layout of the town, the schedule, his ability to blend in the crowd and his knowledge of the human body. Police officers aren't surgeons but are taught various ways of killing, how and where it could inflict the most damage. A police officer would know about disembowelment, mutilations, opening and removing organs/body parts but of course he had a bit more knowledge than a normal police officer. Another thing to consider is that most evidences and files on the case were damaged or disappeared, only a police officer can know where they are kept and have the access to it.

1) an orphan who found out he was a bastard or just found out in a negative way that he was a bastard. He was most likely not broke but not rich either. He probably was an ex military, such as a battle field surgeon, which would explain the proficiency of the murders and the surgical precision and may also explain the intelligence and planning of the murders. Possibly suffering from PTSD or some other mental disability. May have had minor assault or other related charges.
2)Could have had a shitty childhood. Maybe divorce or suicide of one or both of the parents. Could have been brought in by a gang in his childhood and wanting to escape killed his way out. Starting a string of paranoia and murderous rage at ordinary things that were just perceived wrong. Again mother may have been a prostitute or may have been raped. He may have been raped as well. (Multiple ideas from each scenario can be pieced together into alternate scenario)
3) maybe from a richer family. Maybe just have been suffering from a STD passed to him from his mother from his father who got it from a prostitute.(hope you followed that) may have been a mental disorder. STD explains why the murders stopped and why he ate organs (no fear of disease knowing he is already going to die and wanting to go out with a bang) would explain mysterious end to murders (other than copy cats).

seeing a lady with blood on her clothes, they will think she's a midwife and helped a lady give birth. This way, nobody will stop to
think that this lady and Jack the Ripper are one in the same person. She could easily hide the murder weapon in plain sight since

On 3 occasions witnesses described a man with the victims moments before their murder. All 3 witnesses described the same type of man. Either that's one strange coincidence. Or there is no way in hell a woman was Jack the ripper. The police arrested the suspect and a witness was brought to the asylum to identify the man as Nathaniel Kaminsky. There isnt a grain of evidence the killer was a female and I've have many moments to "think about it".

I learned this in history today. His victims were all alcoholic as in that time people drank as a way to get away from their depressing lives. The police never caught him as they didn’t get payed enough so if any murderers / robbers / ect would bribe them and would accept as a way for more money. Also he was very sneaky. :)

I doubt that it was H.H. Holmes. While I'm not a profiler Holmes was more along the lines of an organized killer. When he murdered his victims he not only disposed of them by means he had available in his Murder Castle but in many instances he sold the skeletons to make a profit. Jack the Ripper despite the fact he was never caught apparently murdered his victims where he found them and never made an attempt to remove their bodies from the murder scenes. To some profilers this suggests that he was a disorganized killer, and probably even lived in the area where he committed the murders.
I have a theory, jack the ripper was a docter. I visited a creepypasta website. I searched if there was any creepypasta with a scalp. I found eyeless jack. Jack used a scalp ripper used a scalp to remove organs. Eyeleyess jack used it for kidneys. However jack eyeless had a different story.
