    One of the frustrating things I might add, is the Rpod factory mounted wall plate switch for the cable. If your in a rv park with cable hookup, your connection on the wall plate is the lower one. If the green light is lit, turn it off. Now you can scan the channel selection. Happy podding!

    Very nice video as always John, well done! Technology can be such a hassle these days... Out of frustration, I threw my VCR player into the fire pit! Boy, do I regret that. Stay safe John, much love.

    Have the exact same problem in my 2014 Flagstaff 23RS....still can't figure out what's wrong.
    The only way we can watch TV is by plugging into a cable box at a KOA while at a State Park relying on the antenna we get nothing.
    Five years ago I purchased and replaced the standard batwing with a drop in replacement King Jack. Was sold on getting 60+ channels....didn't gain anything more (total waste of money). Yesterday I replaced the King Jack back with the Bat Wing it came with and still nothing works. Very frustrated and at a total loss as to what to do.
    I go to the same two campgrounds every year with no issues....now our antenna to the TV is useless.

    • @JohnMarucci
      @JohnMarucci  Před 3 lety

      Bob, sorry to hear this. It sounds like either a loose connection like I had or the antenna itself isn't getting power as required. These things can be pretty frustrating to track down. At some point, if it gets too frustrating, you may want to do a service call and see if a mobile tech or local service center can track it down.

    Hey John
    I’m not able to receive over the air channels on my rv tv. Here’s what I have done so far.
    Tested cable it’s good 3:11 , tested voltage had 13.4 volts, replaced power booster, no change, replaced antenna, no change, checked connections, nothing loose, tv tested good using a house type antenna. This has me completely stumped. HELP

    • @JohnMarucci
      @JohnMarucci  Před rokem

      Double check me here. You've tried a house antenna directly to the RVs TV and it works, so the TV should be fine. You've checked all your coax connections in your lines and they are all tight, so nothing loose. You've even replaced the Antenna on the roof of the RV, if I understand correctly. I am also stumped. When did it stop working? Did it ever work properly? Can you think of something that changed so that the TV stopped receiving on-air channels? What RV make/model/year are we talking about?

    • @bobbyjoe6250
      @bobbyjoe6250 Před rokem

      @@JohnMarucci It was working just fine, never had a problem prior to this discovery. The RV is a 2019 Riverstone Legacy fifth wheel. Riverstone sent me what is suppose to be the wiring diagram for this unit but I'm starting to doubt that it is correct. I'm an electrician from many years ago and I generally can troubleshoot issues like this with no real problems but this one is strange. It seems as though something is blocking the signal from the antenna because the voltage is there. Remember the residential antenna worked great on the same wiring as the King antenna. I think I will just have to confirm every cable in the system and see if it is wired per the drawing and if not make a new drawing.
      John thanks for your help and if you should think of something please let me know because I'm stumped as stumped could be, lol

    • @JohnMarucci
      @JohnMarucci  Před 3 měsíci

      I’m trying to think why this would be happening and haven’t run into the exact issue as you have explained it. There really is no reason I know of why the TV won’t tune in lower number channels or mainstream networks. I assume you can get these no problem in your area?

  • @patricksouthgaaccountabili5829

    MY 2019 HIDEOUT DOESN'T HAVE THAT COMPARTMENT, ITS GOT THAT ROUND ROOF TOP ANTENNA, I SCAN MY CHANNELS, SHOWS PLENTY OF CHANNELS FOUND, YET IT SAYS NO SIGNAL ON 99 PERCENT OF THEM, THE RADIO WONT PICK UP 99 PERCENT OF CHANNELS EITHER, ALWAYS SOMETHING

    • @JohnMarucci
      @JohnMarucci  Před rokem +1

      Could be a power issue or loose cord somewhere. Not the easiest to track down. You can start by double checking all the coaxial connections. All the best!

    Our camper is new as is our 43" Sansui tv. We are picking up 0 channels with a Magnadyne RVTV1B Rev. B omni directional antenna . Our old RV had a Winegaurd batwing antenna and we received around 30 tv stations, mostly Digital. I notice when we run a scan on our new tv system, it is not even searching for Digital or Analog stations. Can you give me an idea why it is only searching for RF stations?

    • @JohnMarucci
      @JohnMarucci  Před 3 lety

      Generally, it can be three things. Either the TV itself is defective; you have a bad omni-directional antenna; the factory didn't attach a coax cable properly. If the RV is new and under warranty, and you are not too far from your dealer, I may just ask the dealer to fix it. Otherwise, using a small portable TV antenna would be my first step to ensure the TV is working properly. Thanks!

      @@JohnMarucci I am pretty handy and think I could do this. I purchased a Klein tester like yours. I took the plate off behind the tv. there were Black, gray, white, and red coax. I put the tester bulbs 3 outside ,cable and sat in, outside tv out. the red I put on the red coax in the bedroom. All the coax tested Fault or Short except the black one which tested blue even when the blue bulb was in my pocket. I connected a DVD player to the tv and it works fine. When I connect the black wire to the tv I get 5 station poorly, fading in and out. I called the dealer and the first appointment I can get is Oct. 15th. I talked to a Service Technician on the phone. He said our Antenna is junk and if I take anything apart to track the coax, we will void our warranty.

    • @JohnMarucci
      @JohnMarucci  Před 3 lety

      I’d be pretty frustrated on the date the dealer gave on getting it in. I’m not sure about voiding the warranty if you do this yourself, you may want to ask the manufacturer.

    Hi John. We bought a new motorhome from Germany and there is a Oyster smart tv and an Oyster 60/80 satellite antenna on it but we can’t watch anything at all. It says no internet connection although it shows there is an internet connection to it. Can you please help?

    • @JohnMarucci
      @JohnMarucci  Před rokem +1

      If it is smart TV with satellite, do you have the satellite internet service turned on? Meaning can you access internet through the service? It sounds like you need to enable the satellite internet first. I would think there is documentation on the satellite internet service provider that came with your unit and this is who you would need to interact with to ensure it is working.

      Just get a booster and mount it to the top of the trailer or instal a flag pole with it on the end. Easy and can boost the signal to full bars.
