      Also the spirit of the race is that you use a fixed gear bike.
      Having non-pedal brakes and especially being able to freewheel makes it considerably easier.

      The report is from 2014. Even though good Gopros already existed at that time, the report said, the guy is filming those races for over a decade already. Means, he started filming long before Gopros. So he needed to be creative and I think he got used to the weight on his helmet. But I am sure, if he still does what he does today, he very likely does it with Gopros. Having the Gopro Fusion on the upside of the helmet would be neat, since you see EVERYTHING.

    This in no way "makes the Tour De France look like a practice run"
    - The Tour De France is on average 3500km...split in 20 days of cycling
    - Riders hit speeds of upwards of 120km/hr on very windy downhill narrow mountain road descents. Crashing can be fatal or career ending
    - It is considered probably the hardest sporting event ever created. Riders at the end of the Tour De France are so weak they lose muscle and even bone density.
    - Try riding up a mountain for 6 hours and do that on nearly 6 mountain stages of the Tour. Go to your local street with a hill and bike up that hill...see how tired you get after 1 minute of hill climbing on a bike.
    - Sprints in the Tour De France hit 70km/hr on a flat road; riders are literally centimeters away from each other going 70km/hr. Crashing and pileups are almost inevitable sometimes
    For the Tour De France to be considered a practice run, a couple dozen riders would need to pull out of the race before it even finishes...a lot of riders can't even finish the tour de france due to crashing out or just fatigue. And these guys are considered the elite of the elite in the cycling world and some still can't finish.

      you could call me a professional pedestrian
      a hobby triathlete
      and a regular german driver
      and from all 3 perspectives, the skill of you as a biker has nothing to do with the type of icidents that you are causing.
      even on a bike rekless driving endangers not only you, but everyone else that shares the road with you.
      if you are busting out of a sidestreet onto a main street without checking for anything, if you are disturbing traffic you are the cause of the incident, even tho from a law point of view cars are at foult, since the damage they cause is higher.

      She is following a bike race, therefore not going at normal motorcycle speeds. She is also filming a video, so bike helmet lets you see her face as she talks.
      Obviously safer to wear a motorcycle helmet, but same could be said for the cyclists, and the safest thing to do is to not break all these laws in the first place.

    • @youaregoingtolovethis
      @youaregoingtolovethis Před 7 lety +5

      Bike helmet is better for visibility to see her face as she is reporting. Motorcycle helmets covers too much and less comfortable and ruins her hair. They also probably don't have an extra motorcycle helmet available. Bike helmets are more common and cheaper and more available at a moment's notice. It's Mexico so the rules are more laxer.

And lighten the hell up man, who cares if they are going fast etc, the only person that will get hurt is themselves, so why do you even care? the only people that get pissed off with them are people that are too scared to do it themselves so they feel the need to make it illegal so they don't look as cowardly.

      Because they give cyclists a bad name. And they also put the pedestrians and motorists in danger. Pedestrians don't wear helmets. If they get hit by a car it can end in grief for them as well as lawsuits, major bills and other problems for vehicle owners. It's not about being fearless. There are plenty of places to do it where the rider will be the only person being hurt if they make a mistake.

    • @HighestRatedPlayer
      @HighestRatedPlayer Před 9 lety +11

      bloodsord9 Yeah i'm sure a motorist is going to get hurt if a light weight bike hits into their car.... And pedestrians should be looking around when crossing a road. The only time pedestrians get hit is when they walk across a traffic filled road at a non crossing. And if you want to play the pedestrian safety card, then why not just ban cars from using the roads aswell? since they are the biggest danger to pedestrians. You clearly know little to nothing about allycat racing so please shut the hell up. I've taken part in unoffical allycat races (not the redbull ones) And I've never seen anyone hurt another person apart from theirself (which was extremely rare) and was only because they had never rode a fixie before, but thought they would be able to allycat fine.

      No issues with cyclist just jerks idiot cyclist we have a problem with. We love cyclists we follow the rules as they help relieve traffic jams and helps with parking. We have problems with cyclist who put other lives at risk for a sake of a cheap thrill unnecessarily. By running red lights and making other with green lights stop for them. Same goes for many motorcyclist, scooters, skateboarders. Anyone who doesn't respect the rule of law and puts others at risk and think the laws don't apply to them. No regards for life and respect of other's space and safety. That is what we are against. How many wheels you have we don't give a shit. Same goes for DUI drivers who don't' care about other people. Maybe we would care about you if you start caring about others first. You want us to care about you when you don't give two f***s about other's safety. We could care less what mode of transporting you choose. It is your lack of concern for safety and life that we have a problem with.
