    About this steam engine:
Number 5 "THOR" , manufactured by Vagn & Maskinfabriken in Falun in 1909. The locomotive was in the same design as the locomotives the factory delivered to the Dala - Ockelbo - Norrsundet Railway in 1906-1907. The production number was 107.
Unlike the previous locomotives, this was a tender locomotive. The coal and water storage was on a wagon (tender) which was firmly connected to the locomotive. It was eight-connected with the axis sequence 1D-2. A running axle followed by 4 driving axles and a two-axle tender. The weight was 41 tons and was therefore a "bite" compared to the other locomotives. Because the locomotive was heavier than the others, stronger rails had been laid on the track.
The locomotive was delivered to BLJ in 1909 and its service came to be mainly line service. It was in operation until its closure in 1964. In 1966, it was put up, together with some wagons, in front of the station house in Långshyttan. During the winters, the locomotive was stored in the locomotive shed and then taken out again in the summer.
When the internal exchange in Långshyttan ended in 1971, this possibility disappeared and it had to be left out all year round. In 1974, the locomotive was sold to the Uppsala-Länna museum railway, where it has been refurbished and now runs in summertime.
Transport volumes continued to increase and they found themselves forced to strengthen the traction force again.
