    Interesting video - Nice they are updating it as too many apps seem to get abandoned now and not see many updates.
    Good to see the extent of control from then app. Some things are much easier to do on the phone than at the panel aren’t they like setting timers.
    Imagine the heating remote would be handy (bit like pre-entry climate control in a car)
    Thanks for sharing.
    All the best, David 👍

      I better add that the development version I tested was sent me direct from the developers and you are unlikely to get the new release so quickly.

    Hi Bob, thanks for another informative video, I have a 2019 Swift caravan and on the old version of the command app I could control my heating but the option for that has disappeared on the new version! Any ideas?

      This is what Sargent told me to do when it showed I had a radio:
      In the app, on the Bluetooth page press Delete Pairings
      At the control panel, settings page, press delete pairings, wait for the delete to complete
      Still at the control panel press the pair button
      Now back in the app, on the Bluetooth page, press the Pair to new Vehicle button
      Accept any sharing or allow requests (only happens after new app install)
      App should now connect and all items should be showing in the app.

    Good video . Am still waiting for Swift and Sargent to fix the app on my 2023 784 . Doesn’t pair on iOS with the van . Dealer , Salop Leisure , has no news on when Swift will fix or if they ever will .

    Why did Swift update their app? We have a 2019 Swift Bessacarr 599L the Swift Command app worked fine, the only issue was the Swift Command wouldn’t control the Alde heating system properly. I thought it was my fault, but our dealer (Lowdhams) couldn’t work it out either so just use the Alde control panel for the heating control. Before the app update we could monitor or control the systems, water levels, temperature, lighting indoors or awning, battery discharge/charging solar or mains the van from indoors at home. If it’s now Bluetooth only connection to the van I can’t see the point, before the change the connection worked just fine, the van is parked about 50 feet away from the house so I presume it used to be a WiFi connection. I could monitor the temperature, battery charging from the solar panel or mains if connected, water levels. I could also monitor or control the inside outside lighting. But now I have nothing, no monitoring or control, I presume the WiFi connection no longer works, and the van is too far away for the Bluetooth. Well done Swift, I’m no longer a happy camper!

      @BobEarnshawMoHo  Před 2 měsíci

      It's never used WiFi, it's always been Bluetooth. Are you sure you are using the new app for 2019 motorhomes? That worked fine on my 2019 Kon-Tiki Sport 574 (same as Bessacarr 574). A few guesses here - If you are having problems and you definitely have the new 2019 app, disconnect the bluetooth a few times, and do the usual switch everything off and on. If you can't control the Alde, maybe the connection to the Alde panel is faulty or disconnected. Another thought is your phone, is it up to date, latest operating system etc?

      @charliegould5865 Před 2 měsíci

      @@BobEarnshawMoHo Ok thanks for that rapid answer Bob, as I thought it must be something I’m doing wrong, I’ll have another go at setting it up. I up graded to the new app for the 2019 motorhome system and I’m using an up to date IPad or a modern up to date smart phone to connect. It all worked fine before the upgrade now it won’t connect, I’ll go and sit in the motorhome tomorrow and have another go.
      The Swift Command panel used to control the Alde heating, but at night it wouldn’t allow the Alde heating to drop to the lower night temperature I’d set. If you then manually set a lower night temperature it wouldn’t go up to the higher temperature I’d set. I queried it with Lowdhams they had a go during a service and said sometimes the Swift Command isn’t fully compatible with the Alde system. I wasn’t fully convinced by their answer, I’m sure Swift wouldn’t use incompatible units in their vans. And advised using the Alde system as a stand alone system, and as it’s the easiest option that’s what I did. Since then the Alde system changes to day and night temperatures no problem. When we were travelling round the top of Scotland in October 2020 between lockdowns when it was cold, having to get up first thing in the morning to manually change the temperature to a higher daytime temperature was a bit of a pain, and done very quickly.

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  Před 2 měsíci

      The Alde temperature sensors are often near the control panel, and get readings from there, which is not where you want to heat. I fitted an additional remote sensor in the bedroom, that seemed to help. When you set the temperature were you using the Swift panel, via the timer settings, because that could override any manual setting on the Alde panel?

    • @charliegould5865
      @charliegould5865 Před 2 měsíci

      @@BobEarnshawMoHo It wasn’t the temp sensors, they would control the temperature to whatever was set on the Alde panel, it was the timer didn’t change to the other selected day/night temp settings on the control panel. So if you had set a daytime temperature of 20 degrees until 10-15pm and a night temp of 14 degrees starting at 10-30 pm. At 10-15 the heating set at 20 degrees would switch off as it should, but at 10-30 it would switch back on with a temperature setting of 20 degrees not 14 as originally set for the night. The only thing that changed at the set time was the day sun symbol would change to the night moon symbol, the temperature setting would remain as set for the previous. Lowdhams reckoned it was the Swift panel confusing the Alde panel. I tried just about every permeation of combinations of settings I could possibly think of, change with a time gap, change without time gap, even change with time overlaps. None worked so I ended up with the Lowdhams solution, and now use the Alde system as a stand alone system. Which I don’t have a problem with. But since the Swift app update I can’t check the battery charge state and solar charge current or which battery is being charged. But from your description it looks like as I thought I’m doing something wrong. So tomorrow I’ll have another go while referring to your video. In the meantime I have worked out that at the moment I have no Bluetooth connection to the van. So I’ll get that sorted (the iPad can be difficult on Bluetooth) and start again.

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  Před 2 měsíci

      What I was trying to say is that the Swift panel timer settings can override settings made on the Alde. It's not clear to me which panel you are setting the heating with - the Alde or the Swift Panel?

    Usual garbage from Swift Bob, I have a 2023 Kon-tiki the new 2024 app should work with my unit but it doesn’t neither does the 2019 app!! Swift state that the 2024 app is being released in stages to incorporate 2019 models going forward, should have been released in February but still waiting! 😡 we’re in 2024 we’ve put men on the moon for decades but Swift still struggling to build a usable app!!!

      What I'm testing in this video is an update to the 2019 app and that hasn't been released yet. Also, I'm picking up my 2024 Kon-Tiki on Monday so I should be able to confirm if the updated 2024 app works with that. So hopefully we should all have a working app!

      @@BobEarnshawMoHo hopefully they will test their app with both Android and IOS. Maybe Sargent need to outsource their app development to some of the mobile app developers in the North East who build rapid multi platform mobile apps for industry and who know what they are doing. Clearly the app developer Sargent is using is incapable. Not rocket science this.
