- Highlights of LB Vontzae Burfict, #12 on Takkle/Sports Illustrated's Top 200 High School Football Players. Burfict has verbally committed to the USC Torjans. Burfict has great size and uses it well in the middle, plays sideline to sideline and will finish. He fronts the ball carrier very well and explodes through the tackle not allowing many missed tackles.

credit that d-line centennials squad was vicous on offense but the D was more vicous 4 players start on ASU from this defense and there only fresh and sopmores vontaze also got pac 10 freshman defensive player of the year
way better than teo..he hits harder and actually played against real competition in high school...
Vontaze is the best high school linebacker I have seen next to Allen Bradford. Yes, the the running back from USC. He was great at linebacker, but Vontaze is by far the best. Jelani Jenkins and Teo are very good but this guy is on another level because of his ability to read and react.
he doesnt seem more vicious has a hitter . cant really tell but but by the you tube videos it seems that way . manti is every where as well
jordan campbell playd at norco high,and won CIF two strait years, he was 5'11 230, and actually had the grades to go to USC. plus his dad has been coaching me since the 6th grade
no ones better than Vontaze Burfict. He does his thing against the top high school football teams in the state of CAL. this guy is a MONSTER!

@Intellektual1 okay i did both of them and your wrong about teos. teo only started 9 of 12 games. im a big fan. he didnt start nevada game. USC game and boston college game. and yea maybe i did exagerate but in my opoion teos wins (but i may be bias)
@l9o6p7a3k4a the last time i checked...caloi ball is ranked higher than hawaii ball and the point is to b unblocked...he shoots gaps and that takes instinct...hes pretty fucking good
nobody is better than him, i go to centennial and he was the number one linebacker in the whole country at centennial and he led centennial to their 8th cif championship

Burfict is amazing. Now he starts at ASU with his two buddys that play outside LB. They have been playing with each other since 3rd grade. ASU is now #1 defense in the pac 10.

@34andrew34 when did i ever say they won those six games because of there 'shut down' defense? im saying they get the job done, when the defense needs to do good they do. asu may have a better defense but look at the individual performances and the given amout of playing time teo put up identical numbers and got less playing time. compare there 2 college highlights teos wins by a landslide
remember watching him all four year he was there
and hes still a bosss in college

just so happy that ASU got such and awesome player. Hope he is here next year. or atleast with the cards.
@l9o6p7a3k4a I'll say that Te'o did have a better year last year but i see burfict being the better NFL prospect and having a better year. And just to let you know they may not have put a hand on vontaze but if u double him one of the d-lineman or other backers will make the play. 5 or 6 out of that front 7 got D1 scholarships.

@JuiceFantastic i never said asu had a bad defence ill quote u what i said "notre dame defense was meteocore there nothing specal but they get the job done asu loses because there offense and defense are not in sinc when one does good the other folds up" and i know ND really under acheived this year but thats there problem WAC all the way !!!!
Beautiful for tackle. wrapped the legs, picked the player up and drove him to the ground. It was almost a perfect technique tackle. Minus his head being down.
@l9o6p7a3k4a WRONG!! Go to Notre Dame's official team website, and then go to ASU's official website. According to both sources, Mante Teo started 10 games and played in all 12, while Burfict started in 9 games and played in all 12. Teo had 63 tackles, and Burfict had 69. Both players are undoubtedly the stars of their defenses, and are equally talented as their production is comparable (and not the "landslide" that you eluded to).

He originally committed there but then realized he wasn't gonna qualify n switched to ASU he didn't even get cleared at ASU until weeks before the first game
1:05....that's exactly how to break your neck tackling. I just can't seem to get how some people consistently tackle like this but are never injured...

@l9o6p7a3k4a alright manti teo is good dont get me wrong but not great and Centennial(the team VB played for) went to state that year and played De la salle while they also played mater dei and clovis west other really good teams in CA. And i played agaisnt Burfict and trust me a lot of these guys were afraid he was bigger and faster than most NCAA backers in HS.
@l9o6p7a3k4a Burfict went to state and lost his junior year to a great De La Salle and then beat them his senior year and DLS is one of the greatest programs of all time. Also Burfict was just that much of a beast whether you think so or not he was bigger than all the athletic smaller oline man and too athletic for the big olineman he was 6'3 245 runnin a 4.6 40 he was just to much at the HS level. Dont get me wrong Te'o's a really good player Burfict is just better.

@Ginga haveing a picture and videos of what i do show everyone that im not just some faceless youtube user who has nothing better to do. not an exaggeration at all. look at kevin rooney mike tysons trainer he never boxed in his lifeand he been training for years but when he finally went a round his perspective and opinions drastically changed and in the end maid him a much better trainer.Same goes with football yu can talk all you want but until you actually have done it before you have no idea.

academics. ASU is a far easier school than USC. Also he would have been behind Clay Matthews, Ray Mualuga and Brian Cushing. At ASU he was the starter when he arrived.

There is no way to compare Hawaii and Cali high schools cause they dont play each other on a regular basis. Hawaii might be better at some things And cali might be better at some things. Bottom line is manti was a higher recruit then vontaze and is putting up better numbers at the next level then vontaze.

@34andrew34 yea he wont get away with that at the next level i seen that pankake vid he was offsides thats why he dumped the guy and ur talking shitty defense u guys had a worse record then notre dame ND went 6-6 and was ranked in the top 25 in the first five weeks of the season u guys went 4-8 and were never even close to be considered in the top 25
