Simply the way Ron introduced himself with his middle name shows how much he's grown over the years
Agreed. He used his full name. Wow.
Yeah, about 7 letters worth.
middle name redacted
I had totally missed that! In his own way Ron is a more trusting and open person 😂
He is grown, but still don’t trust the government. Lol.
Ron Swanson: "Walk this land and make sure no one harms it, show up on time, speak honestly, treat everyone with fairness."
Very literally words to live by.
Now that's character growth, because out of context that sounds like something Eagleton Ron would say.
"All government is a waste of taxpayer money."
THOSE are words to live by.
That’s conservatism
Notice that he said "fairness" and not "respect."
@@Her_Imperious_Condescension No. That's Ron's philosophy from day one.
Ron’s last scene definitely makes me tear up.🥲 I love his big smile as he canoes across the lake.😊 I’m glad he didn’t wind up working for Chuck E. Cheese.😊
"Buddy" didnt hurt either.
I work for a company thats owned by Chuck e cheese. No one wants to work for chuck e cheese.
@SirBillyGoat Not anymore. The soul has been sucked out, ever since they got rid of the creepy robot animals.
@@johnnymcblazethats cause they were walking around biting people
There's something about Ron's happiness that just contagious. That scene where he shows pictures of himself eating steak puts a big smile on my face
This will always be one of the greatest shows in tv history
Next to the office
@@toxicavenger7073 The Office isn't worthy of tying Parks & Rec's shoes.
the first 3 seasons were great and then it slowly became the Democrat party's promotional tool for politicians trying to look like normal people.
@@toxicavenger7073 underneath the office
P&R is the greatest, most quintessentially American sitcom ever made.
Wow, I didn’t even realize Andy and April got introduced in the same scene. How fitting.
Ron's smile at the end was the purest thing. He looked so legitimately happy.
The best thing with Ron is he only laughs or smiles when he absolutely, truly means it. Makes the moments when he does even better.
You can really see at the start how Leslie is literally doing a Michael Scott impression "People need our help. And it feels good to be needed". Even the intonation and facial expressions are pure Michael. Thank god they didn't stay on that path.
Yea my wife wanted to quit watching the show during season 1 but I had to convince her to keep watching, bc I knew it got good.
I know this is a fictional tv show, but it’s so beautiful to see how all of their lives improved through connections, love and working on themselves. It makes me hopeful that life will work out for me and my loved ones. ❤
Ron’s last scene, that was Nick Offerman getting emotional. Love this show so much.
Best ending to a series ever. So lovingly and thoughtfully done, for every single character. Ron's my fave though. Willie Nelson's "Buddy" playing, while he's being his true self out in the wild open nature, thanks to his own "buddy." 🥺 Miss this show!
April really saw Andy scratching himself and wanted him to gather her children immediately.
She had children to gather already? Or did you mean 'father'? lol Nah, I was thinking the same thing, like 'there's your future husband, lady',
I mean besides the fact that Andy had to convince her to have kids, sure, yeah
The smile on Ron's face as he's experiencing his new job, coasting across the lake in his canoe, warms my heart
The way Ben went from wanting to cut Leslie’s budget to giving up his chance of being governor to encourage Leslie’s is so beautiful 🥹
Not really what happened. He didn't want to cut the budget. It was his job.
And then he ends up being president
Upon a recent rewatch, I just now realized that the song that plays in Rons last scene is the same song that was used when he and Leslie mended their friendship earlier in the final season. Such a beautiful touch.
I recently finished the show and I forgot how different they all were in the beginning, like Donna and Jerry, and Ron used to wear suits for work! And that Andy and April's first meeting - now I saw that checking out! And how I love Ben's first appearance - it is obvious that he clearly wished he wasn't in Pawnee...
How much they've all changed and grown... That's the thing I admire in a sitcom - character growth and change in a good way) Park and Recreation definitely has it!
A library!? I think Ron was the most pleased with his outcome. And he looked natural. Peace!
aww the way andy and april had their first and last scenes together
Ron had the best last scene by far, favorite moment in possibly the whole show
If you don't just love Ron Swanson... like so many Ron Swanson scenes... do you even like TV?
Another good last scrne imo is "don't be suspicious"
I love how one of the last scenes in the show with Leslie talking shows her very first scene. Growth.
9:10, oh my god Donna’s Glowup was insane. Bro, look at her original hair
I choose to believe she was testing that "hard wig, soft life" theory in the earliest seasons 😂
This is my favorite finale of a TV Show. I love the care the creators and actors put into these characters and their stories that it was genuinely bittersweet to say goodbye to this show.
Aw thanks Parks and Recreation for making me cry the first time in 2023.
9:52 - This scene is amazing in how many of the cast basically summarized their character in so few words in such a short time. Ensemble cast at its finest.
You can legitimately get everything you possibly need to know about Ron out of his first scene. He’s introduced so flawlessly 😂👏
A lot of them are that way. Leslie, Tom... Chris...
A national parks rangers spin-off with Ron Swanson would be a cool idea for a show. 10/10 would watch with a steak and whiskey
That's actually a really terrible combo.
@@alphanerd7221 Only for non-Swansons.
"Parks and Ron."
It would be pretty boring tbh. And i only watched p&r for ron Swanson.
not if the rangers are funny and wacky, which they could be/@@unhommequicourt
Donna and Tom were such an awesome duo always
It is only today, after rewatching Ron's last scene, that I realise :
"Hopefully not too fine as I am not looking for any new friends"
His last words were to admit they were his friends
I feel all fuzzy inside :3
Not me getting all choked up by Ron’s speech to the rangers…
Oh my God I'm letting out all this diarrhea fart splatter help
Ron had the most beautiful ending in the show
2nd most, I think Jerry's was better.
@@edwarddeguzman3258 nah I wouldn’t wanna live to be 100, and Garry was the least respected of the group
@@victormeyers1860 Jerry still had an amazing family though.
@@Sugarpeach44 so does Ron
@@victormeyers1860 Larry had a good run at life though, he had pretty much everything going for him besides that
The character growth alone. So damn good.
Honestly, one of the only characters I'm invested in is Ron. And I'm glad that by the end of the show, he gained real friendships, a wife that's good to him, two stepdaughters, his own biological son and a government job that he would actually work hard for and appreciate. The simplest and happiest ending you could ask for.
Even though season one was basically an office knock off it’s still worth watching in my opinion if not just to see the interaction between Leslie and how everything started. Don’t write off the first season because character evolution is the best part of the series and the characters make the show.
I really want a peek at the universe where Parks and Rec stayed an office spin off (with Rashida's character being the connecter).
It's definitely worth watching, but ngl, it did make me cringe kind of like The Office's first season.
The office isn't original enough to have knockoffs. It's a remake of a British show that was blatantly ripping off Spinal Tap.
@@alphanerd7221 look out everyone he has a hot take so he thinks hes superior
@@Infernos94 Sure rube, something people have known for over a decade is a "hot take."
Tom totally predicted the next few years of Ann's life
April was totally checking Andy out in his first scene😂
In your head.
@@ninjachannel007nah man she was
Very different energy between 1st n Last ... Absolutely Loved the Journey
Alright, that's too good that they didn't show Garrys (Jerry/Larry/Terry) first scene. Whoever made this compilation needs recognition for going above and beyond simply throwing a clipshow together.
i like how Chris Trager always stayed pure as hell
He came in as a caricature. Hard to make someone into a caricature if he always was one
The producers cut of the last episode is one of my favorite tv episodes of all time.
She really is a hero of a generation.
This show was so fair to its main characters. It's finales for Ron and Garry/Larry/Terry(?) were so satisfying.
“Cuz he’s sleeping?” 😂 Andy
Just realized that Leslie calls it the DMV, but in Indiana, it's the BMV
Recalibrated the quiz Ron is now a Donna.
I never watched Parks and Rec when it was active. I started watching it last year and it’s my favorite of all time. I normally start a series when it’s in re-runs.
Ron Swanson's last scene made me tear up.
I always get fascinated by Donna's character arc and changes she went thru from Season Ep 1 to the end.
oh my god, i just finished this show, like, 5 minutes ago and I found this thing here
I'm glad Leslie made the comment after the library thing. I had forgotten about the animosity 😂🎉
I cried at the end with Ron because it was his favorite song and it was just emotional
I think the drunk guy from leslies first scene is the guy who wanted the swing fixed in the last seasons episode.
How could you forget Mark Brendanawicz? Oh, yeah. Everybody forgot him!
Brendanaquits
Crazy to see how Ben changed - when he was introduced (alongside Chris) I thought he'd be in and out of there in maybe one season, certainly not wind up married to and having children with Leslie
first season's hair is so funny
I'M NOT CRYING YOU'RE CRYING!!!!
That was the happiest I've ever seen, Ron 🥹
All of them had a natural and beautiful character development from beginning to end, but I knew there was something special waiting for Ron at the end and it didn’t disappoint. I’m pretty sure we all felt his expressions organically 🥲
I’m surprised Gary’s funeral doesn’t count as Leslie or Ben’s last scenes 😂
we don't know who among them is the president of USA
I’m not crying. You’re crying. 😢
This show is better than The Office
"I'm not qualified."
"You're Ron freakin Swanson."
I think we all seem to agree Ron's ending was the most wholesome.
Absolutely awesome show - I love it.
Mannnnnn, please, don't make me cry man
i like how Andy started as a chubby and ended all jacked in the last season, prob because of the GOG movies, but you can tell by his shoulders how he got Jacked LOl
There are only 6 shows that should be binge watched a minimum of three times, in their entirety...Parks AR, Justified, Veep, Mad Men, The Wire and Always Sunny In Philly...
Wouldn’t Ron’s last scene have been the reunion in the office in his Ranger’s uniform?
Great way to write Ron into his passion with the parks service. What a great series , we miss Parks & The Office. #MakeTVTVAgain
Parks n Recreation is by far my favourite tv show.
I do a binge watch at least every 2yrs (every year would be excessive)
1:36 damn april
Started like one of the bad pilots, went on like a great series, and ended like G.O.A.T. Parks and Recreation forever ❤
Great, now I have to watch the show again.
I miss you guys.
I havent watched one full episode of this show and I already saw the ending lol. I love this show even though most of it, I watched on CZcams.
This show made me a better person
They didn't even bother including Kroger brand Jim 😂
every parks and rec character, except mark brandanawicz (and others too, even craig)
Is the final photo available anywhere? I'd like to put that up in the office.
Would have been crazy if they started with Ron and all of a sudden shown ‘last of us’ Bill at the end 😭😭
Ron had the best last scene
After 1 week, i finally finished the series..
Finished at 11/24/23
Man, what a show!
Now i have that empty feeling again.
I watched it for April and Andy and stayed for them and cried for everyone 😢.
Dang you finished the show in a week? Isn't there like 3 seasons?
@bigbird4481
7 seasons.
i watched it nonstop.
Morning , afternoon , night.
Then again it was probably a week and a half.
I would love to see a spin off with Ron and the park rangers
Ben in a spread collar and striped tie. Well done sir!
Leslie, the whole time Tom was hitting on Anne:😳
I didnt watch the original network run, now its syndication run its can't miss.
the nerd in me actually says the covid special was the last scenes sooo
Ron had the best ending out of everyone.
ron has the best ending
I wish Indiana was as beautiful as the location of Ron's speech to the rangers...
❤❤❤
iirc the canoe in the lake scene was one he built himself. that or the one he gifted to mark.
Love how Jerry gets ignored
It seems as if Leslie is the main character but then ron Andy and April just took over😂😂😂
why does andys and aprils kid look like hes gonna sell me chiclets lmfao
I demand a Parks Rangers spinoff about Ron and the Park Rangers or Mark and Norton Construction Spinoff
I find it oddly fitting that the people who made this forgot Jerry's first scene, and only included his last. Still getting disrespected, even outside of the show.
This makes me think that the whole series was planned out from the beginning
Sometimes I forget how bad season 1 Tom was. Night and Day between S1 & S2
I will miss ron
Always surprised me to find out that after all of this time, Ron Swanson doesn't know the most basic thing about paddling a canoe. The J stroke. I was shattered then, and don't want to be reminded.
Wait wasn't Andy's first scene when Ann came home from the public forum and is being interviewed and Andy says can you do that outside I'm trying to watch TV? I'm a bit iffy on the details and timeliness of the first episode lol
