      @@2phast You should consider Lancer Mags in place of Gen2 Pmags, they work where PMAGs dont and GI mags do.

    I love my C products mags. I have the old ones and the new ones. They are my favorite! Hands down the best IMO

    I totally agree, the chrome silicon springs are far superior if you don't live in an area where rust will be an issue or if you simply keep a bit of grease on them while in storage & clean them up before use. The chrome silicon springs take a set & then don't change. They don't get weak that I have noticed. I have a chrome silicon buffer spring that is several years old, with thousands of rounds through it & it's good as new. (I bought 2 so I had one to use & an unused one to compare) The mil spec stainless springs start getting weak at 3,000 rounds. I am totally sold on chrome silicon springs. I am replacing my MagPul springs with Brownells chrome silicon ($20 for 10 AR springs) as of Septenber 2014.

    I’ve personally replaced all my GI mags and Gen2 PMags with SS Duramags, smoked Lancers for visibility as well as Magpul M3 window but let’s all be smart about this, if you want a magazine to last generations then stick with SS Duramags cause there’s no polymer feed ramp out there that won’t fail you and I’ve beat the hell out of a few of my SS Duramags and though they look like they’ve been through the ringer, they just keep going and going and going….. Next, we need more SS Duramag 308/7.62x51 reviews.

    LOVE these magazines; they are tied with Lancers for the magazines I stockpile and use for my ARs.

    I've had a mag split open on some ASC mags. Accidentally loaded 31 rounds, thought I seated the mag on a closed bolt and I guess when it fell it just hit the right spot and spaghetti everywhere. My favorite mags are probably the c products steel and aluminum.

    Been using CProducts Aluminum mags for years. Flawless, except for a couple that ended up bent in the lock area, apparently either during packing or shipping. Could have been in production, but I think it's unlikely for only two magazines out of dozens to be damaged on the line.

    You must have dug into years worth of TM’s to find That stat on 40 uses of GI mags. Excellent video. I’d like to get HK mags but I’ll be ordering a load of these instead since you said they store great.

    It's good someone doing a review on steel mags, I didn't get on the poly mag wagon, only reason they started making them out of plastic is because it's cheaper, that the bottom line. Throw one in the oven at 150 to 200 degrees, people would ask why would you do that, it's simple if it don't hold up as well as a steel one, then why buy it, get a steel one first time around,

    The c magazine SS mags i had failed after beginning left loaded for a short period of time. The feed lips distorted till I couldn't get them into the 2 ARS I had. Stick with steel GI or mag pull

    I just bought two C Products mags. I haven't used them I'll most likely will put it in storage. The mags feels solid, but the reason why I bought these was because they were only $12 which doesn't really break the bank. Other than I likely will still stick with magpul and try out other GI mags.

    • @terryleethompson6245
      @terryleethompson6245 Před 5 lety +1

      Stainless Steel is MUCH superior to either Aluminum or Plastic. And just compare the seams of all of them. I have known of both splitting, that is unusual , but it does happens. NEVER Heard of that happening with SS. The others are good, I own many, BUT, this Mag is The Best Made ! PERIOD

  • @gordvpn481

    These failed to fit my PSA .223 but it may have been PSAs fault with poor spec and quality control. PMAGs and other polymer mags work fin in it.

    I love your detailed reviews, but for the love of God, too long of a review for one mag. Your reviews take up too much of my Japanese love doll time. Most of us just want to see a close up of the welds, overall quality and if it runs. Besides that, I love your reviews. Great information and thanks for the detailed review.

    Good quality but they a big problem i have is i have to smack it in to get it to lock in snd when i release it the mag release button is stiff and pmags are one just stick and and the button isnt a bitch and these mahs bend when dropping over all the 11 per mag in these gi mags aren't worth the having to hammer it back each time i drop these on hunts

    Can they use standard springs, noticed they cost a little more, and am unsure if it would be worth it if I could not repair them should anything fail. Especially when it comes to the springs (unsure of how long they will last).

    • @dennismatt9549
      @dennismatt9549 Před 8 lety

      They work in my Brother in Laws Ruger AR556..........a carbine I am not overly fond of solely because Ruger shortcuted its buyers by not providing a chrome lined bore and chamber. If you don't mind changing barrels every 5-8000 rounds then the AR556 is decent enough once a decent trigger is installed which you can say about most out of the box AR carbines and rifles. For the same price my BIL shoulda bought a Windham or even a Bushmaster though I have some issues with Bushmasters parent company. Stag also makes a great chrome lined barrel/chamber carbine for not much more than a Ruger 556. At some of the sale prices I have seen those Rugers sell for it is hard to argue against buying one though as it isn't that hard to rebarrel a rifle and depending on how much you shoot you might never have to. They are not "heirloom" guns though, they will need rebarreling by the time whoever you pass the gun along to if you use it only sparingly and are anywhere near young to middle aged. This kind of gun needs to be shot often and a LOT which is why chrome lining is such a big issue with me as I live in a VERY rural area and get to shoot to my hearts content by merely walking out my back door and out to my home made range. Never have heard of any tendency to malfunction with those Rugers......I guess its a matter of how much ya shoot and again it is hard to argue with the price Ruger is offering those carbines for.

      You want something guaranteed to work? Get Lancer or Magpul.
      Everything else is a crapshoot. You'll find a ton of people saying brand x magazine works perfectly and just as many saying it's repeatedly failed them.

    • @2phast
      @2phast  Před 10 lety

      I don't own any of these magazines but I did spend some time with a BCM rifle that was using the E-Landers. They are very nice steel magazines with a nice semi gloss finish. With the limited time I spent with them, I did notice that they were a bit hard to seat (requiring a hard slap). They did drop free from the rifle without issue.
