    I really appreciate the time you take to explain what you're doing and how it works! I make resin dice and have recently taken to doing gemstone inlay with the dice, and your videos have been one of the only resources I've come across that explains the process in a way that's transferable to work with dice vs. rings.

    I never thought to 3d print a mandrel holder. I should design my own to hold my mandrels from Patrick Adair.
    The rings look beautiful.

      Yeah they are simple enough and make working on the ring so easy! And with the little catch at the bottom you don't lose material that falls off.

    Hi I am making a ring with my dogs hair. Do you recommend to stick the hair onto the ring with super glue and then pour epoxy resin onto the hair?

    • @DreamwoodRings
      @DreamwoodRings  Před 10 měsíci

      I have never personally done something with hair or fur. However I think you have the right idea! A thin layer of glue, followed by hair to have it stick, then finish off with resin over top of it all!

      @@DreamwoodRings Do you think there could be bonding issues over time between the resin and glue? I just got myself a setup to do something similar with the small agates I've found in my state. I'm not sure if I'll be doing much cutting into the agate pieces themselves and am curious of how to fill the negative space.

    Wow cool looks amazing. Say how would you make a inlay ring with epoxy resin not uv epoxy resin but epoxy resin?

    • @DreamwoodRings
      @DreamwoodRings  Před rokem

      I have not actually made a ring with normal epoxy. I would guess either some sort of mold to hold the resin inside the channel, or a slow turn.

    • @DreamwoodRings

      Shoot! The ring mandrels are acetone resistant, so sometimes using that can help get a ring unstuck. But Gary send me an message if it was one of our mandrels.

      Hey! We started super small on wood rings. Using a drill, some sand paper, and BSI CA glue with wood veneers. The ideal set up would be a lathe and some ring mandrels to hold rings on your lathe, with some tools. Maybe around $400. I should set up a video of everything needed for ring making. :D
