Wow thanks for teaching me how to add negative numbers
The way I do it quickly in my mind is to flip the symbols twice. So:
-20+16âĄ-(+20-16)=-4
For some reason, rising up to 0 (naught) always felt harder than lowering to it.
Another trick I use is to add all the negative numbers qnd positive ones together. So:
-20+16-3+2= -((20+3)-(16+2))=-(23-18)=-5

what about 16 + --20 is the answer is = 36 ??
why do you have three signs in an equation that only has two numbers
you're probably thinking of 16 - (-20) whoch equals to 36

If u add positive number to negative then the negative will become less negative or positive depending on the positive number's value u are adding
You have $16 (in your hand). Your buddy says your owe him $20 from that time; so, you give buddy your $16. Now, you still owe hime $4. That would be written as. -4.
