Fish
how did you learn godot
New mz_eth vid! 🔥 The new adjustments look really good.
I love how powerful u feel when u have just the most broken weapon.
This game looks INCREDIBLE. I'm mainly an artist and writer, but I've always wanted to learn how to actually BUILD a game so thanks for the inspiration!
(Also love the Qumu remix music in the background!)
Thank you so much! I really means a lot ❤️
overscooooooped lets goo. so into seeing more about Far Gone Frontier, front and center
Thanks Comet!
the fish with all of the attachments coming out of its mouth got a good chuckle out of me. Can't wait to try out Far Gone Frontier!
Thanks! Yeah best decision I made was to add those visual mods to every gun :)
Your game looks so cool to play!
Thank you!
You might actually be the most underrated content creator I've ever seen.
Man, I wish I had your voice... now that that awkward moment has passed, I think you are making some good decisions here. My favorite mechanic in these games is when it let's you loop so to speak. Putting you in the same levels once you beat them all but with exponentially more enemies. Idk if that's in your plans, but it's always a nice way to throw in more content, lol
I love the combo you showed with racket! It's a good example of a weapon that previously wasn't great, but through the mods becomes a really good weapon! In addition, I have a suggestion. Maybe the better weapons have a low max mod count, whereas the weaker weapons have high mod counts, to further emphasize the risk/reward aspect you're trying to hit home.
Yet another great video man! I'll have to check out that podcast!
Thank you so much!
This art makes my fucking day
Love the way you explained the difference between long term choices and short reaction ones 👏
I love the game feel in your productions. Either your jam entry or main project - all those small tingles are always spot on
I'm loving seeing all the progress, thank you so much for sharing!
You're a lot better a game design than I thought you were. Loving the challenge room btw
I LOVE your artstyle !
Oh damn thank you so much!!
Nice nice nice nice, great to see another video! Making inventory systems are a headache haha, you did well.
Ha ha. Glad you are making your game not like one of my videos. It's looking really good so far! :)
Haha well that remains to be seen, hopefully it comes together :P
Its fun to watch your devlogs
Love the idea of challenge rooms! Great way to keep gameplay fresh and add player choice to the game. Far Gone Frontier is looking great, can't wait for the eventual playable version. keep grinding Zeth!
Thank you so much! Super appreciate it :)
Great video man! Love the explanation of your thought process on how/why you design stuff rather than just saying what you did.
We really love the aesthetics of Far Gone Frontier! Great work on this game design/showcase video. Keep up the hard work and don't give up!
one of the best youtubers out there :)
What the heck! thank you :)
I'd say that you should have it sort of like hollow knight where the weapon mods have a certain amount of slots it that it takes up so that way the player can't be too op
Fire Game
Fire background music
Bro, you spitting str8 fire
oh damn thank you!
@mz_eth bro you got to teach me your ways
Yo the challenge rooms look sick! Also NEW PODCAST! wow I'm definitely going to check that out :O
ARTINDI MENTIONED 🦅🦅🦅🔥🔥🔥🦅WHAT THE HELL IS A GOOD GAME🔥🔥🔥🔥🦅🦅🦅🦅
This game looks like so much fun. But with that fantastic hat my man needs a whip.
And it could be like a dodge roll! Drop down and do some bonk damage. And you could have it be held so if you release it early you drop faster. Movement is fun.
I love your spirit man❤
Wish my luck in my game
you could also make enemies have the ability to get weapon mods in other difficulties
How are you able to do all this stuff? building games, coding, the art and making these awesome videos! Good job!
Oh man thank you! Its definitely been a learning process
I like how the skeletons breathe with no lungs.
fire video!!
Thank you! I really appreciate it
Crazy looking Godot game 🤩
Aww thanks :)
@@mz_eth np
Definitely something I'll be thinking about in future games.
You mentioned Thundercore dev for HUD stuff? I couldn't find the channel?
Oh it’s actually “sundercore dev” yeah his project looks super cool, definitely check it out!
@@mz_eth Thank you! The captions were going a very different direction!
Your project looks cool as well! I definitely see a lot of interesting indie projects on the way.
To me though, becoming OP during a run in a roguelike is have the game. I mean you're trying to find just that right setup to help push you through the game while also getting better overall plus meta progression. So your changes seem like they will make some really interesting combos as you keep working on it!
damn i love your videos
you should look at Noita, where they have different wands with different stats and slots
Absolutly so cool !
This game looks fun
I’d love to see much playability and that you have a lot of difficulties something like Terraria where you have beginner mode and the other ones for the different types of players
What are you using for the graphics? Are you doing it all yourself? One thing I've loved about your games is that the styles look both unique and yet you can also tell they are all you.
Oh thanks! I just draw everything in photoshop then bring it into godot and play around with some lighting.
yo can u tell me how u rotate the gun and make it look at the cursor while also orbiting the player im making a game similar to this myself and was wondering how to make this work
Artindy mentioned AAAHH 🥬🥬🥬🥬🥬🥬🥬🥬🥬🥬🥬🥬🥬🥬
very cool game! but i'm worried that the inventor mechanic might make player scare away from trying new weapons since they loose most af the attachments they had
I’m still a little in limbo here, but I’m leaning towards making the levels for weapons stay between runs. Either that or weapons spawn with a variety of levels. But I have to do some testing!
THIS GAME LOOKS F***ING AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
you should invest in a pop filter
Woah!
Is it just me or does anyone think the old hud looks better than the new hud? I think the color makes me like it more than just the green
Love the new UI
Thanks! I am super happy with it currently, also I didn’t mention it, but the color is fully customizable
FISH GUN. FISH GUN. FISH GUN.
Where is the music that starts at 2:00 from ? I know it's from a game but I forgot which one.
Qumu's Dragon roast island remix from windwaker
@@mz_eth thanks. How could I forget such a classic !
Hello, I've been watching your videos and I would like to learn how to make games. I even tried godot but it's difficult for me to find a good place to learn from it. Any suggestions? Please
Fish
Anyway to buy/play this game rn?
whats the name of your game and where can i get it ( hopefully steam)
Far Gone Frontier, but I haven’t put together my steam page yet. I’ll definitely update everyone when I do
Babe wake up mz_eth posted!! This made my day, your energy in your videos is addictive.
Cool
Heyy my man can you do a tutorial plsss btw i luv u
dude do u still use godot v.3.5? IF THIS IS THE CASE THEN U R AMAZING
ur not a wannabe indie dev, ur an indie dev. I dont make games myself, but i do know that your level of skill or consistency doesnt invalidate your profession, a developer is someone who makes games, you make games. also the "youtube developer vs real developer" thing is stupid, if you make games, ur a game dev. also nice, roguelike, i love roguelikes
Thanks, sometimes I get too in my head about it I think
@@mz_eth yeah I get it
I have a feeling you're gonna blow up soon leaving this comment so I remember I subbed at 24.5k
The challenge runs are pretty well designed for run to run level balance, but when i thought about it a bit more, are you not now feeding back into your initial problem of rewarding skilled players and punishing weaker ones?
Someone who is competent with your games systems should be able to do every one every run and take minimal damage, scaling much harder. A weaker player might have too low of health to make use of them.
I think the design needs another pass, maybe you can take a guaranteed weak reward, or the random challenge reward?
It’s very tweak able, and I think I’m leaning towards different types of challenges, but I really like putting the gun away and risking it for a new gun. Plus the money that drops from killing enemies
old hud>
I almost think I like the old HUD better. The new one looks kind of plain and like a prototype. I'm not sure how others feel.
Bro slow down
bro you speak to fast. looks like you are not making videos for everyone. Please slow down.
O.75
Please speak slower it is incredibly hard to follow your speech
Just switched to godot ngl im very impressed gdscript is rlly easy to understand
@mz_eth Hey man, I just came across your channel after deciding to jump into learning to code and game dev, while creating content about the whole thing. Wanted to know if you had a discord or anything, I would love to just get a minute to talk with you and pick your brain about some things.
