A is more balanced and reserved - B is more louder in Low Mid and Mid a little saturated -> B is Logic Mastering Assistent
You sir have a great ear ;)
I think B is your chain. It releases the track smoother than the first one, and has a tad more depth. Pretty darn similar though.. I'm impressed.
I think too, B seems to be the chain !
B is the custom chain for sure
What makes you say that?
@@NoizeLondon there’s an organic richness to B, the low end especially gave it away for me. So am I right? 😅
Thank You for the video I’m a beginner waiting to get my MacBook Pro then logic just watching and learning.
I agree with the comment below, I reckon your chain is B. All in all im very very shocked by what Apple/Logic have created, it will help so many learners to achieve broadcast quality results. Ive just used it on a pro premaster for an EP that I have sent to be mastered and cant wait to do the A/B comparison on that. Thanks for the video. Lee (please tell us soon which is which)
I could tell his was b right away. I’ve noticed Logics width feature doesn’t just push the sides out farther, it’s spreads the middle. When he was playing with that towards the end of the tutorial, I noticed the piano become unfocused and bouncing around from side to side, and i noticed that in A as well, where in B, everything was focused and had a place in the stereo field, actual depth in terms of feeling instruments move closer and farther from you. A human definitely crafted that.
Yes the key component to listen to is the piano here - Logic doesn't do a great job of controlling it or recognising it as a different instrument which human would of course... maybe that's something that they will update it with
B seems more open and organic but both very similar. Which is which?
kinda wish they'd tell us which is A or B so we can assess how useful the tool could be. Either way I think A sounds better. B is pushing a lot but A feels like a normal track if that makes sense. Mastering shouldn't be awfully noticeable, it should be an invisible push, and A to me feels like a push rather than B which is a bit of a shove in my opinion.
I’m pretty impressed with Logic’s results.
Yeah I thought so too - have you tried it out yet?
I keep hearing about this mastering assistant and it sucks that I don't have a computer that's capable of running logic Pro 10.8. I wish I could try it
I got the last of the intel iMacs before they got rid of them. 2020 27" iMac and I can run the latest Mac OS to run Logic Pro 10.8. I tried out the new mastering assistant but since I don't have the newer M1Silicon Macs I don't get all the features. Only 1 preset "Clean" so I'm just sticking to Ozone for my master assistant with tons more features.
I tried logic mastering and it’s really good - external plugins will start to fade slowly, it’s given and just a matter of time
Have you tried combining the two?
@@NoizeLondon I tried it for a short few min. to see how it works and the result was good. I think I like the convenience. As for plugins I have iztope advance and other and yes it works as well. I just would like the plugins to think for me and me concentrate on music creation.
I think it’s at its best working over a premix with other vest’s implemented.
It’s surgical and pragmatic. You need to mix in the life before using it imo.
I felt A was a little tighter, less width. My initial impact was that i liked A more. B seemed to be a little less controlled, the stereo field was almost too wide- and something dragged the vibe down a touch, A had a drop more lemon zest.
Nothing like a bit of citrus 🍊
A is lacking a bit of clarity that B offers. A is Logic Pro?
I like A. Clearer to me. Though I'm listening on a tablet
Where most people listen to music these days eh
B sounds fuller.
A more airy.
Both could be custom, or Logic.
Plot twist - Everything is AI, including Noize London, and this comment response
@@NoizeLondon 😂😎🤖
B wider and less muddy than A
A > ai
B > Pro
A sounds better period
Louder is not always better. Dynamics are what create the emotion. Slamming the signal becomes tiring very quickly. Just my personal opinion.
Yes I agree - it depends on the genre and what the client wants - what LUFS do you tend to aim for when working?
lol
Yep
I prefer A as is more thin and the sound doesn't seem to be out of place everthing is in harmony in the B masteribg some sounds do stand out too much. That piano sounds loud.
I agree ;)
B sounds the best
Giving people a knob called "Loudness" is a recipe for disaster 🤣I can pretty confidently guess B is the Mastering Assistant because we had a sense of its character from the tutorial. But regardless, I personally prefer A here because it has a more spacious midrange and is the kind of thing you can really crank without it becoming harsh.
Also totally with you on the loudness dial haha
i A/B ed it against Izotope Nectar,
Its OK, But Nectar is Far Superior.
We think so too ;)
Like more B , what is?
I'm going with B. Both sound good but B has more definition; cleaner bass and punchier snare.
B is what tho?
@@NoizeLondon B is your chain.
Yours is B? Gotta say that this new LPX update has some great new features tho.
Yeah man it's dope!!
Hello, unfortunately, this Assistant does not work with analog equipment and the I/O inputs introduce noise and significantly amplifies the signal, so be careful. Maybe someone has a solution to this problem ? Not being able to analyze the material with an external compressor on I/O causes silence.
I would recommend using your analog gear prior to the mastering assistant and then using this to 'finish' things off :)
The louder I turned it up the harsher B got. I would say A is yours, feels more balanced.
B is wider, breath a bit more, and sounds a bit more crispy.
However, it's hard to say who's A or B
They're so close - intentionally so btw ;)
B sounds better, wich one is it?
I think it's the chain
A sounds better on iPhone 14 speaker
B is Logic
B sounds richer, smoother, fuller to me... Think that's you're pro master... Did you master the track yourself? (the non logic x version)
A Logic, B 3rd party. Am I wrong? :)
B.
B for better
A B sounds the same
Are you sure? Listen one more time...
Both mixes sound mediocre
thanks so much !!
like butter can't tell the difference
