  • Which MBTI personality type are Lord of the Rings characters? What type is Frodo Baggins? What about Gandalf? Aragorn? How do the 16 Personality Types (aka 16 Personalities) make up LOTR?
    1. ISTJ - The Guardian - Aragorn
The ISTJ Personality Type, also known as “The Guardian”, is one of the 16 personality types according to the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). This type is characterized by a sense of duty, dependability, and reliability. Guardians are practical and logical, preferring to work with facts rather than emotions.
Aragorn is also very responsible and organized, making sure that all of his tasks are completed promptly. Overall, Aragorn is the perfect example of an ISTJ.
    2. ISFJ - The Protector - Samwise
The ISFJ personality type is often referred to as the Protector, and in Lord of the Rings, this type is embodied by Samwise Gamgee. Samwise is a loyal friend and an extremely devoted servant to Frodo Baggins.
He is always there to provide emotional support and even physically carries Frodo during some of their long journeys. He is also the only one who knows the true extent of Frodo's struggle against the ring, and despite his fears, he remains steadfastly dedicated to helping him. Samwise's loyalty and courage embody the spirit of the ISFJ Defender.
    3. INFJ - The Counselor - Galadriel
The INFJ, or the Counselor, is best represented by Galadriel from Lord of the Rings. People who score as INFJ are introverted, intuitive, feeling, and judging. They tend to be creative, sensitive, and perceptive, and they often have a strong sense of morality and values.
When it comes to their relationships, INFJs are fiercely loyal and devoted to those they care about. They may be slow to open up to others, but once they do, they are incredibly supportive and generous friends. They are excellent listeners and are always willing to offer a sympathetic ear.
In Lord of the Rings, Galadriel is a prime example of an INFJ: compassionate, wise, loyal, devoted, and incredibly intuitive about people’s motives and feelings. Her ultimate goal is always to protect those she loves and bring out the best in them. This makes her an ideal representation of the INFJ personality type.
    4. INTJ - The Strategist - Elrond
The INTJ, or "The Strategist", is the rarest of all personality types, making up only 2-3% of the population. They are highly independent and creative thinkers, with a strong sense of individualism.
INTJs are often described as analytical, intelligent, and determined, making them excellent strategists and problem solvers.
He is wise, organized, and decisive in his thinking. He uses his intellect to find solutions to difficult situations and is always planning for the future. In addition, Elrond is an independent thinker who prefers to take action on his terms. He is also often seen as an advocate for others and a leader of men.
    5. ISTP - The Crafter - Éowyn
The ISTP, or “Crafter,” is a curious and independent personality type that loves to explore and tinker with the world around them. They are resourceful problem solvers who enjoy coming up with creative solutions to tricky situations.
Like the ISTP, Éowyn is a strong, independent character who is capable of taking charge and making her own decisions. She is practical and resourceful and is not afraid to take risks to achieve her goals. She is also skilled at handling new and unexpected situations and can adapt to changing circumstances to achieve her objectives.
    6. ISFP - The Composer - Legolas (?, or Arwen)
The ISFP personality type is often referred to as the “Composer”. They are creative, independent, and spontaneous people who live in the moment and enjoy a wide range of activities. ISFPs are driven by their passions and take an active interest in the world around them. They are curious, imaginative, and value their freedom and autonomy.
ISFPs have strong values and integrity, but they can also be quite sensitive to criticism and tend to stay away from conflict. They prefer to express themselves through art, music, or other creative endeavors. They are great problem solvers, able to see solutions that others may miss.
He enjoys good change, as well as exploring new places and cultures. His impulsiveness often leads him into dangerous situations, but he manages to get out unscathed due to his quick reflexes and courage.
    7. INFP - The Idealist - Frodo
Often referred to as “The Idealist” due to their qualities of being a peacekeeper. The INFP are open-minded, compassionate, and highly creative people, who are often seen as imaginative dreamers and would rather be in their little world than take part in the real one...

Frodo is an INFP bc Tolkiem was an INFP ❤️ As an INFP I understand that, i could never write a protagonist who's another personality type different from mine.

LETS GOOOO. Been waiting for this for ages. I have always thought Aragorn is an INFJ but I see where the ISTJ comes from (my reasoning was that if Aragorn was an ISTJ he'd stay with Frodo and Sam the whole way).
I'd also flip the ESTJ and ENTJ typings

I always keep getting this impression that I am a mix between a INTP and INFP in that I am a INTP who is extremely idealistic and moralism.

These are so far off base. Aragorn an ISTJ?
