    Growing up in the Bay Area, I’ve been to half moon bay hundreds of times with family and friends… but after watching and being inspired by your vids, for the first time a couple days ago I finally went half moon bay all alone… solely to illustrate. It was a freeing experience, and I felt my reliance on others to do things I want completely diminish. *You have definitely also made me want to try paining again*. So thanks for living life, naturally reminding us to live ours.

    Great painting. Much stronger and more interesting than the landscape. You saw something that wasn't there and made it sing. Good choice in reducing cypress to the right. Lovely ground texture in the shadow. You captured the sloping ground and rocks. Very sweet.

    • @chamberlainpaintings

    I've watched you for a long time and I don't think I've ever seen you shade your canvas or board with an umbrella. My paintings are coming out dark looking when I get home and I think that's the problem? How do you keep your paintings so bright looking when painting outside in the full sunlight is there a trick to it?

    • @chamberlainpaintings
      @chamberlainpaintings  Před 2 lety +2

      I never paint with direct sunlight on my panel. I always turn the easel so that the panel is in the shade. Direct sunlight on your panel will usually result in a painting that is too dark and desaturated.

      Michael, you really put the “ kiss of life “ in the tree on the left, the rise in the foreground surface area there, , in it’s blueish hues , , really accent the purple over some dark , mid ground, yes the path sand reflection affects the shadow silhouette there, it’s also touching the branched edges to the tree on the right, also again the under branch illuminations from peering into trunk and foliage, the left tree’s upper shadowed feeling, touching blued water, lighter blue sky deeper within, the path a feeling of taking the viewer outwards. Still looking , imagery of / in the differing ground shadow(s) faceted myriad, beautiful painting. ❤️
