    I recently got a spider plant from my bf's mom & it was thriving indoors! But I brought it outside & it was all good until the weather became colder. Now I brought it inside & it started wilting more, but the stems are still green so there's still hope. Thank you so much for journey, I learned a lot & am determined to save my lil guy!

    There are three main ways to propagate spider plant babies: by cutting them off and planting them alone in soil; by planting them in soil while they are still attached to the mother plant, severing them off of the mother plant later; and by rooting them in water.

      Thank you Ange! I will definitely make a video about how I created the pot pond. Its pretty simple though. I just went to the hardware store, found a big pot, water proofed it using silicon and aquarium safe glue. I then lined it with pebbles and aquatic lillies. I usually have fantails in the pond as they are quite cold tolerant. They love it, especially in summer.

      @@mollys1584 I am so glad that they are perking up! I honestly didn't realise just how much water they actually like. Its a lot! I think repotting is a good idea especially if its not doing well in the current soil.
      I've made so many mistakes with Spider plants. Initially I thought they'd make great bathroom plants but it turns out they really didn't like my bathroom. As soon as I changed its position and put it on my nursery shelf, they honestly started to thrive. I agree. They are super sensitive to too much sunlight.

    Hi Danny is it better for spider plant in a hanging basket?

    • @botanidanny
      @botanidanny  Před rokem +3

      You can put them in a hanging basket or pot. Theyre pretty good at filtering indoor air. It probably looks better in a hanging basket so that the spiderettes hang down. When mine settle in more, Ill probably transfer them over to a hanging pot, so yes! Also I have propagated a few baby spiderettes into my terrariums which they are loving, stay tuned for a future video ☺️

  • @dcphifer4307

    I would have placed those attached Plantlets on a separate moistened soil in a pot. This allows those Plantlets to also pull in moisture without stressing the parent plant.

What would you advise

    • @botanidanny
      @botanidanny  Před rokem +3

      Gday! You can leave them connected to the mother plant. They’ll be fine. However, because they are still connected, the mother plant may need extra water to feed all of the extra baby spiderettes. It sounds like your spider plant is very healthy! ❤️🌿☺️

    I bought a not so good looking spider plant, a day ago. I think I should take it back. What do you think?

    • @botanidanny
      @botanidanny  Před 2 měsíci

      You could take it back. Depends how healthy or unhealthy it is. Spider plants are suuuuper hardy. They look like they wont make it, but given the right conditions they will survive. Id put it in a shady area and water it lots on a daily basis. If it has spiderlings, Id propagate them into new pots too.

      They actually like lots of water. But having at least one drainage hole is good. I literally showered the two spider plants in the video with water every day and they seemed to love it.
