"Whit gold" girl I thought you were talking about COCAINE
I suspect they might have done that on purpose.
I 💝 my septum lol.
Like I can afford to erode my septum. 😂
Figures.....your mind is in a constant haze from various drugs. Cocaine being one of them.
😂😂👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Allegedly
"We're having roast chicken for dinner tonight, and I've invited guests!"
"Yum, that's nice. So who's coming?"
"Our new neighbors, Sam 'n' Ella!"
Ha, this took me a minute, scrolled past, then I got it lol
That's hilarious and disturbing at the the same time :D
Moral of the story: Avoid chicken! All meat is a Petri dish, better to avoid it.
I see what you did there ;
0:18 mentioned white gold and was getting ready to smoke a pipe = I actually was thinking crack, not tobacco or sugar.
Lmao
I wasn't thinking crack but I wasn't thinking tobacco, either, since tobacco isn't white.
I was thinking opium.
I was thinking cocaïne
Opium
It’s so annoying when you get all excited about a new video just to find out that you’ve already seen those clips like 3 times. 😤
Right?!
This video makes me want to brush my teeth even though I already did 10 mins ago 😂
better to have no teeth to brush, problem solved.
@@fvckyoutubescensorshipandt2718, ok. But dentures have to be brushed as well.

@@sablatnic8030 I don't really remember but knowing me, I think I did 😂
I love her voice so much. I could listen to her through my whole nights sleep and it would be like a lullaby hahah plus I love this style with less act out of what they’re talking about bc its easier to follow when I’m cleaning and not just watching
I knew a 67 year old man who needed open heart surgery to put a clip on a heart valve. He could not have the operation because his blood is poisoned by his rotton teeth. He had all his teeth pulled then he could have heart surgery.
They won’t do invasive surgery if you have tooth infections just as they won’t if you have an infection in any other body part. You usually have to fill in forms with information on your general health, including teeth. Teeth are part of the body(which people somehow tend to forget), of course an infection in them could spread and become dangerous.
Flashbacks of me and my cousins getting into the sugar cane and running around like crackheads at my granny’s
ITs very interesting how you can look at skulls from many centuries past and how though they may have had a little honey now and again their diets were largely sugar free and you see it in their teeth, with little to no decay. Then from the Renaissance onwards.....well..........
Growing up in an age where we're spoiled with access to practically everything anyone can dream of eating, it's mind blowing to imagine a time where something as simple as sugar was a rarity. 🤣😇💜
You should look up the history of pineapples as decor, it's wild
@@mksabourinable gon do that later, if I remember
Or an orange
But it was much easier to get drugs
In the Roman age salt was so rare that they would fight wars over it. And soldiers were paid with salt instead of money
The sad part is nothing has changed. Manufacturers still add all kinds of garbage fillers to all processed foods. 😡
7:39 My favorite part of that table of causes of death is the line that just says "Suddenly"
And the two people who died of "Stone"
Hahaha. Yes
@@Kevin-ot2en I do wonder if they mean gallstones/kidney stones, or like legit being stoned to death. The latter seems more likely because you'd expect way more of the former than there are on that parchment ☹️
@@made-line7627 maybe that person just got way too high 🤷🏼♀️
*disclaimer* - I'm joking, 😂 I know that there are no recorded deaths by getting high, I know someone would think I'm serious.
She actually had to say that tobacco wasn’t know as White Gold? The fact that it’s brown should be a dead give away, don’t you think?
;) Can't say crack in Civil tv apparently?
It's obvious they meant cocaine but wouldn't have been able to get away with something that seems like it aired originally as a BBC documentary.
Guano was also called white gold XD
Cocaine was actually first produced in the form that we know it in the 1800s, not during the Tudor era
Opium was my thought
I've been on a no sugar/carb diet and it's done wonders for my health.

She's beautiful but she spits through her ridiculous teeth the way she talks is actually kind of annoying.
OMG it is amazing anyone survived the Victorian age!
I'm confused by some of the things mentioned in this video. It's my understanding that sugar back then would have been raw and brown, and that refined or white sugar didn't come until later during the 1800s and was more expensive for consumers. Perhaps it depends on the region.
They charge any time poisons.
Lead was good for us and then asbestos

Much like Morgan Freeman, I can listen to her narrate aaaaalllllll day!
Robert Stack from unsolved mysteries was an excellent narrator as wll
That hair is just amazing, the mind under it as well
Also... Victorian era London seems like one of the wort times and places to live ever
Did they just purely ignore that cutting yourself when cutting the sugar is much more dangerous than eating it a few pieces of it? That's why they invented sugar cubes in the Czech Republic...
I did not know that :0

fyi: i absolutely love her hair!
Yeah she is gorgeous, I wish I looked like that
Hopefully she won’t touch any ancient manuscripts with her bare hands this time round.
That makes me exceedingly anxious.
Paranormal Dissonance really? This outweighs the oils and acids transferred from skin? That’s interesting, as I can certainly see the dexterity argument having merit.
@@peoplethesedaysberetarded The hands are thoroughly washed and dried before handling etc. Could you image being the one who tore a page in an ancient book? *shudder*
Paranormal Dissonance I know! I won’t even write notes or highlight in modern books that I own and that are for consumption; destroying a one-off by ripping a page or putting a hard crease in it would make me wish to be swallowed up by the Earth immediately!
Remember when that guy casually handed her a book full of lead paint? Yeahhh
when she said white gold she knew that we were thinking of cocaine or crack
Anyone else watching this feeling eager to brush their teeth?
"The Top Three Faulty Foods..." Let's see, they profiled sugar, bread, milk, and chicken. That's four. Or are they not including the sugar? (although it was being eaten separately, almost as a staple in itself during the Tudor era being examined).
Sugar isnt a food. It's an ingredient, like a spice. We wouldnt call salt a food
I've already seen this!

That experiment makes me wonder about using all of the antibacterial soaps and toothpaste, mouth wash, cleaning products, etc that's available?
Antibacterial products are actually bad because they're speeding up antibiotic resistance among bacteria. It's already a problem in some diseases - see the recent outbreaks of antibiotic-resistant gonorrhea lately. And when you consider that a lot of the childhood diseases that have made a comeback due to antivaxxers are commonly treated with antibiotics as well... We've got a health crisis looming over us.
@@SadisticSenpai61 Don't get me started on the anti-vaxxers. I've seen what polio can do, I've seen what tetanus does, they have no clue about what they are prattling about.

Not fair. Other cultures were already eating sugar. It's just that the European monarchies were into excess. They ate way too much of anything that tasted good.

Sugar is both prized and deadly in modern America
I would like to know how to get the sugar wafers with silver .
0:43 - What is that writing on the right-hand side say? can anyone make it out?
So sugar is treasured but not salt? I bet most people in the past would have choosen savory meal over sweet meal if they're made to choose one.
Salt was treasured throughout history. Salary comes from the word sal(salt).
The Whispering Sylph Especially since salt is necessary for sodium intake
The Whispering Sylph England has never had a shortage of salt though, there are numerous towns that have produced it for centuries, and as nowhere is more than 80 miles from the sea presumably sea salt was also widely available. Sugar, on the other hand, had to be shipped from the other side of the known world.
salt has been historically treasured, but not so much by the english, having more than enough salt for the rest of us
That depends on where you live. The UK is an island in the ocean. There's no shortage of salt when that close to the seaside.
So salt would never be exactly rare.
And humans do as humans do, always: The rich started using sugar because it was new and novel, and thus every worker and peasant had to try it as well.
Places like central Europe would have historically placed a higher price on salt due to long transport chains necessary to get the seasalt or mined salt to them.
And y’all want me to believe these people invented the lightbulb? These same Europeans 💀💀💀 I’m just 💀💀💀
Mom uses borax in the laundry soap she makes. It's a good cleaner. I would never eat it.
I mean there's also table salt in most washing powders.
Just because it's used in a product that a toxic, doesn't necessarily mean the ingredient is toxic.
Borax still gets used in contact lense cleaning/storage solutions.
And as always: The dose makes the poison.
@@emilychb6621 Salt is used because it's abrasive. Borax is used cuz it kills a hell of a lot of things. There's a bit of a difference there.
Of course, salt can kill if you ingest too much of it - as with anything else. But that's kind of not the point here.
@@SadisticSenpai61 I mean, borax is also in toothpaste.
@@robokill387 and we're not supposed to swallow toothpaste, are we?
@@SadisticSenpai61 Yep. Dentifrice labels often advise treating it as poisonous if "an amount more than normally used for brushing" is swallowed. If it was highly toxic it couldn't be placed in the mouth.
I have seen all of this before...
Dentist still today either do root canals or pull teeth... not much has changed
It's funny that we know what's poisoned and we still do it...
