I saw him in this role twice and he was phenomenal! He and Billy had the best chemistry. I saw it with two other performers playing Charlie and I agree with you - no one can sing this like Stark. Love this song!!!

I'm a theatre techie, so the actual coaching aspect isn't why I'm here. I'm here to watch MDP's face as he watches what he loves. Magical.

When this first came out, we played the album over the in-store speakers at the Barnes and Noble where I worked and I fell in love with it. That year, they had a number from Kinky Boots at the Macy's parade and it was epic! I remember there being loads of controversy about the number because it was all guys in drag but I thought it was so cool. I hope I can catch it if it ever tours down here.

I remember seeing Stark say something in interviews that in the process of developing this song, Cyndi told him he had to cut a vein and spill his guts out whenever he sang this. Advice well taken, to wonderful effect

aaand we’re back with the past midnight uploads that I watch immediately anyway.. my favourite thing about MDP videos is that it’s watching along with someone who loves musical theatre, so the excitement I would feel watching these performances is literally mirrored in how hyped he gets 😂

NO ONE plays Charlie like Stark. NO ONE. I ❤, ❤, ❤, ❤ him! He's SO GOOD! And I think he and Billy Porter as Lola REALLY had the right kind of chemistry, because they remind me a bit of the same chemistry Joel Edgerton & Chiewetel Ejiofor from the film version had which is EXACTLY WHAT it's supposed to be like. ❤ I saw Kinky Boots on tour in San Francisco back in 2014, which was FABULOUS! HOWEVER, it wasn't Stark & Billy.

Well this brought back memories. I had seen Kinky Boots in London. What stood out the most was Lola and the finale, Raise You Up which had the audience clapping to the infectious beat. I'm so glad you featured this solo because I had forgotten about it and just how high it sits for the character of Charlie Price. I hadn't realized how rock-like it really is. I had seen Killian Donnelly as Charlie Price and from what I remember he was not as vocally free with the high notes. The color of his voice had me believing that he was reaching for those high notes and it was a bit strained unlike Stark Sands, who, in comparison, soared. In the production I saw Lola easily eclipsed Charlie Price. Lola was so grand and one does not mess with a drag queen. This video was a reminder of the vocal importance of Charlie Price and his growth. Thanks Marc and you know what I am so looking forward to...you!

Hi, Marc! So I've been so into Kinky Boots after listening to the OBC recording and after looking everything up, I came upon the Korean version of the musical. I'm wondering if you'd be interested in reacting or reviewing a couple of their videos. I really want to see your reaction to Land of Lola (the one performed by Kang Hong-seok) and Hold Me in Your Heart (performed by Choi Jae-rim). The Korean musical industry is really interesting and it's an awesome new world I discovered. Thought I'd bring it up. Love your videos!!

The one thing I can not stand about Kinky Boots, and this is probably not something many have an issue with, is the fact they all sing with American accents but the story is set in England. Even when I saw the West End cast they did the same. That and my word some of the lyrics are awful haha the song Yeah needs to be cut :P Great video as always. Love Stark Sands!

One of the best duets I have seen was this genius from Tom Jones and Jenifer Hudson on the Voice UK. It looks spontaneous, but may possibly be rehearsed. They both made each other better imo. What is your reaction ? czcams.com/video/5_Ox34opf_U/video.html

Currently Charlie Price at my local theatre, and while Stark is fantastic, obviously, I prefer Killian’s performance in almost every way; it’s somehow so NOT stereotypical musical theatre, and just super naturalistic.
