What fairway do you play?
Callaway Epic Sub Zero 13.5 degree head
F9 Cobra, love it.
TS3 bruh
Ping G410 LST 3 wood and Ping G410 5 wood!
Cobra f8, but have started to look at the new speedzone line of fairway woods. Will you be looking at the Big Tour model??
I've got no interest in buying a fairway wood at the moment but your reviews are always superb so I watch them anyway.
Coach is a fairway finding machine!!
The best thing about Lockey in these club reviews is he makes it more relatable to the average golfer even if he doesn’t mean to 🤣🤣 playaaa
Added the standard to my bag last year and it is a FF ....Originally had it at Standard draw but change it to +1.5 (16) and gained some better contact / direction but really did not loose significant yardage. Would absolutely hate the tour version as a 15 HC Need the visual forgiveness .. TY 4 the video
I couldn't hit a 3 wood so I took it out of my bag and replaced with a 18 degree 3 hybrid.
The “Big Tour” is a bit of you Mark. Get ya hands on that bad boy!!!
My Cobra 5 wood is the oldest club in my bag and has been there for over 10 years - it just works.
Always love the cobra fairways. I know the rails don’t do much but in my little head they do 😂
Just love Coach's comments "don't set me up to fail" and "expect nothing" , he then got the win! Good review as always
The rails are actually superb! it makes it super easy to hit out of a divot and wet conditions!
I changed last month to the f9 fairway and driver Mark and have no intention in changing at all but the sz driver and fairway look fantastic again this year. I would opt for the big tour if i was to change as i like the bigger head on fairways. Don't use a 5 wood i have a wilson staff utility 18* which works great for me.
I play the F8 14.5 deg 3 wood atm and love it! Easiest metal headed 3 wood I have ever hit! I’m thinking of getting the SZ 3&5 wood though!🤔
Switched the shaft out for a x-stiff ProjectX HZRDUS grey smoke, and can out drive my group with drivers. The thing is absolutely insane.
I use the older Cobra King F6 Baffler 5 wood with the rails and love it. I even have a new F6 Baffler 5 wood in a plastic bag in the closet, when it’s time to replace the first one I bought. A Cobra 5 wood will always remain in my bag. I haven’t tried a Cobra 3 wood. I currently use a Callaway Rogue 3 wood.
Love the look... Anytime there’s some help with aligning sight and friendliness with a club like this it’s a welcome thing!
I used to use the old Cobra Baffler woods during the winter when the grass was gone. They had huge rails and you couldn't hit them fat.
I loved these as well!
I love and still play my f8 3 wood, I wait and buy new clubs after the year when they go on sale depending on how the new clubs work I may stay with a club several seasons. I look forward to getting my hands on a f9 to see how much better. I love the look of the regular sz and hope to try it
I am playing Adams Tightlies Titanium 15 degrees with a regular Mitsubishi Rayon Bassara - Loving it. It sits very close or tight to the ground and gives me an app 225 meters of ground.
I play a cobra baffler rail f 3 wood. It is amazing off the deck and a low tee
I still play a sonartech ss03. Like Coach was saying, I like my 3 wood to be small and deep. Makes me feel so much more comfortable, especially off a tee.
I play a Titleist TS2, which I like. I actually think the coloured lines around the clubhead help to make the club look smaller. I like them.
TaylorMade M6 3 and 5 with Cobra F9 Driver and love them !!
Superb review as always and the best double act out there.
I play a Cobra F7 3 Wood. Great club. Ball jumps off the face from the deck or the tee.
I would love to try either of these! I game the standard F8 3wood now and do believe the rails help in many situations. Very confident controlling shot shape and distance with my Cobra F8.
I have the F8 fairway , Driver and hybrid . Really like the Cobra clubs and definitely helping my not so great game
Not sure if the rails are measurable But for me I couldn't hit a 3 wood until I got the f8. Mental satisfaction worked!
I have the Cobra F7 3 wood at 14.5 degrees- love it. BTW- the rails on the bottom are to help get through rough on a second shot
Those shoes are great. I had mine out for a loop today. The foam will shape to your feet after a few wears.
I tested an F9 hybrid last summer and found the exact same thing Coach mentioned with the rails. It just made it really hard on the range mats to slide the club behind the ball at address. Maybe on grass it would be easier, but I felt like I was going to nudge the ball every time.
I rock a 5 wood. I don't see much difference between a 5 or 3 off the deck unless I flush one (rarely) and I like seeing the higher flight off the tee.
Mark, I'm really enjoying the "Fairways in a Row" thing you and coach have been doing. Need to get Dan in on it as well. The 3 of you together would be even more fun to watch. BTW - I game the F9 3 wood and have no intention of changing it. BTW - I have the avalanche white version, which I think coach may like as it still has the little logo thing and not so flashy as the yellow and red version. I don't know if the rails work or don't work, but they fill me with confidence.
Macgregor NVG Mactec 15°.
Titanium face with weights stabilizing the head with Japan issued RS flex, Fujikura Quad shaft.
Great penetrating flight in wind .
I have cobra f8 3 and 5 woods and I love them
I game the F8+ 3wood when I tested them it came out on top off the tee and off the fairway and I'm a 13HC 🤷♂️ don't tell cobra lads they might take it off me or make me swap. Mr Fowler is the person behind the + or Pro as it's now called he's said to prefer the smaller head just like coach playyyaaa lol. Enjoyed that thanks as always 👍⛳
Good fun again guys - when's the studio going to be finished? Get Srixon/Cleveland to kit it out for you!!!
Replaced my fairway with a 2 Hybrid. It's a missile, and I miss-hit it considerably less.
Yes! I bought an old Hogan 2i on eBay for $20. I hit the fairway with it every single time for about 215-227 yards. Love it!
I have a 3w and 5w from about 1990 in my spare set that would make the tour look like a big Bertha. They’re tiny metal taylormade clubs that give the fear of toe hits into the gorse if you ever take them out. Clubs have moved a long way in 30 years and as a mid handicap hacker, I’m delighted. Give me the big one please.
Still TS3 - some of us didn’t get to negotiate new contracts for 2020 😉
Enjoy the new clubs. I had Z545 irons and loved them 👌🏼
Allan Cameron Srixon makes some solid irons.. period! Marky mark could only be sooo lucky to get his robot hands on a set dated z745’s ... they couldn’t pry them out of the Z-boys hands as the years and models ticked by. What I like to call the s55 effect ... right Bubba😎
The tour version is a dream.
I changed over to Ping irons and and M4 but Cobra for my Hybrid because I LOVE LOVE LOVE rails . Time to get a fairway with rails , will see i SZ or and F9/F8 cost saver option works best for me .
Go #ARMY!!! Great win and no rule changes required!
f7 3 wood, love the rails, not sure if they do much with ground contact but they give me the belief they will help which in theory is helping. Might upgrade to speedzone later this year love the look and want the milled face
I’m going to test the Fairway 3 and 5 Cobra fairway ?? Looks very good !!!!
Currently gaming an M4 fairway wood, love it. Great review chaps, would probably try the bigger one first. Nice.
Very nice! I have the f9 5 wood knocked down 13.5 I hit strait missiles 200 yards and roll 250.
I been given, from a friend who can no longer play, an F9 driver. Very lucky boy, I know. I went to my local pro shop and hit some shots with the pro to do a afterthought fitting of sorts. I am loving it.
But I have never ever hit a wood, 3 or 5. I play a rinky. Would love to try a wood. Problem is, I'll probably love it and then when I'm at the dinner table instead of listening to the wife I'll be dreaming of a new club.
Interesting that you are with Sirixon now!
The club pro near me said that Sirixon are his best selling irons! Looking even more forward to seeing you’re content this year now
Just picked up Wilson staff launch pad 3 wood. What an awesome club.
Just swapped from cobra f9
I play a Titleist 910F …. still works it's magic.....
I have an old tiger woods 13 degree Nike 3 wood.. tiny tiny head and a rifle shaft as flexible as concrete..!. Beyond my skills I'm afraid.. great vid guys xx
Gamed a Cobra Baffler 5 wood when I was a junior player. Loved the rails but not sure if it did much more than give me confidence.
Love the vid Mark. Going for a gap test next week. Have no 3wood, only Driver then 3hybrid. Definitely want to look at this and the Cleveland launcher for 3wood.
Best 3 wood I ever owned was a ping i3 smaller than some rescue woods but it was probably the best wood I ever used off tee, fairway or rough. Only stop when shaft snapped so I retired it.
Coach, be truthful, are you really a Pro?! 🤣 You were hitting it so well only a few months ago!
A problem with them which you may not have noticed is on high hits (skies) they cut ball to shreds with that milled face edge. My friend games their F9 driver. Proper chunks coming out.
Playing f8 fairway and I also have an f7 hybrid. I like the rails, gives me confidence hitting down on the ball
I am not sure if the rails do help your swing or not, but coach just clearly showed that they do SOMETHING by limiting the direction the club can slide on the ground, right?
I got fitted with the tour in white and black excellent club
Planning on adding the Tour to my bag this year. Favorite fairway wood of all time is the F6 Baffler (148cc) and this is basically a 3-wood version at the same cc and will match up well in my set. Too bad you guys didn't have the Big Tour to compare. I think Coach would have liked that one. Would have also liked to see the two you tested compared using the same shaft, just to remove a slight variable.
Here is a crazy idea in regards to the handicaps listed on these clubs. I play the bigger one in my 3 Wood and the tour or smaller one in my 5 Wood. Not because of handicap but because of the shots played with both clubs or my perception of types of shots played with both.
I play m1 at 15 deg, shaft is aldilla ghost ms110 x flex. Hit it well, don’t use it a lot on my local course off the fairway as only 1 par 5 and will only use off the tee if the boxes are well forward.
Haha reading divots welcome back to the 80's, next people will go back to waggling clubs to pick them. " No need to get numbers on the sim, this one feels fine I'll take two". I will now remove my tongue from cheeks and thank you for an awesome channel.
Great explanation of different types of players. I would use the standard Speed zone 3 wood
Srixon F85 3 wood. Love it.
I would like to see these heads with the fairway shafts and lengths you normally play, reducing the number of variables.
I play the F9. I feel like it sits very closed after I up the loft. Love the rails.
I had the F9 5 wood and it was too closed for me.
Only play a 3 fairway, swapped my 5 wood for a 3 hybrid as I never used it and found it harder to hit!
I think when Lockey was hitting the first bigger fairway wood, when he set the club at 16 degree, he must have put the draw setting on. I've made that mistake when re adjusting my driver before.
the rails make my shots go straighter. I find it difficult to shape balls left and right. But hey, more fairways hit = more enjoyment.
Cobra F8 5 wood currently in the bag but going to consider the standard speed zone 3 wood at 16 degrees which is the same loft preference of Coach. Cobra is quick becoming a top brand and major player in the market at great price points. Keep up the good work chaps and good luck with your new gear Mark.
Ricky plays the Tour. I actually have the Big Tour in my bag which is the middle one between the two you tested
So that’s what it’s like when you get a high handicapper to test clubs 😂 coach brings it back in the end with a win for the army 👍 great review. Currently playing old caraway razr it’s the old faithful so reluctant to change
I had the Callaway Razr too and just recently replaced it with a Sim Max. It's about 25 yards total longer than the Callaway. You should look at upgrading. You'll get more distance for sure.
Great video guys really liking the content, any chance Mark you could do one showing us how much these necks actually do to the ball flight?
This was really helpful to me! What do you think of the Cobra Hybrids?
Why are you guys at Honiton GC now? The bigger 3 wood for me looks stunning
Love my f9 3 wood and have just ordered the speed zone 7 wood on pre order
I believe DeChambeau is gaming a big tour version which is between these two head size wise and weight forward.
Still playing my Ping G10 but since having switched to Cobra irons/wedges it's only a matter of time before I switch to Cobra driver / fairway just to match it all if nothing else....
I thought coach needed his balls warming by Paige!,
Great vlog and consumer testing again by the team.
I am playing with call away epic flash 3 and 5 wood and hitting them well, I was using a ping sft 3 wood with a draw bias but if ball wasn’t level with my feet found it harder to control direction, all me but still a good club.
Adams Tight Lies Ti currently gamed...I would then go for the standard with the shallow face
What about nearest to the 'line' as the point decider? With number on the fairway and longest on the fairway. In the water gives you a a penalty
Loving the cobra range I'd try the tour even though I'm I mid handicap
Really miss Joseph Mayo on Twitter. Great knowledge. 👍
I’d go with the bigger one too! The thought of the the small one on the first tee doesn’t excite me either. Might be time for a new favourite hole if Coach is going to do reviews 😃 Perhaps with no trees 🤔
I flip between my pro 3 wood and my hybrid 2 iron depending on the course and weather the 3 wood is the more squatter (pro version).
I play an Epic Flash 3 wood and love it! Hey Mark why are you leaving the sticker on the bill of your new Srixon cap? 🤔
The sound will be different on each due to placement of the weight.
Tried hitting F9 fairway the other day. Ok off small tee but could not get it up off the deck. Ended up with a M6 5 wood with results I wanted.
Hi Mark
I just picked up a Cobra SZ driver the other day and it outperformed my TM Sim Max that I picked up a few months ago, hitting it longer and straighter. So I want to get a Cobra SZ 3W to match and replace my current TM m5. Have you tried the the Big Tour 3W? similar to the standard profile but with the weight to the front for lower spin. Its more rigged up to use off the tee as well as the deck with the rails slightly more shallow. thoughts? I'm a beginner golfer, but former cricketer and loving the challenge of improving. Standard 3W or Big Tour 3W? I guess the standard is more forgiving?
Love it.
Great vid guys, I bought F8 3 wood and found it sat way too upright, was the best at 14.5 degs. Anyone else have this prob???
Could you try the shot vision app on iPhone ? It’s a ball tracking app that I use when practicing on my net at home ! Just wondering if the data matches up with your data in the studio 🤷♂️ thanks ! Another good video ! Keep it up love them
You need yo use a straight fairway when you do the testing and then change to the tough hole for the battles. Hitting water or trees for most of your test shots, it doesn't show us watchers anything. Love the vids
Plenty of good data in this video bruh don’t worry about the odd tree ball.
I’m thinking bout ditching my m3 3 wood and love the looks of the cobras but might hang on and try the Srixon one now someone else is using it! 🤔😂
I still user the F8 fairways. Cobras seemed to be easy to hit. You fellas think you may review those Speedzone super lofted rocket irons?
Coach seems to get such good ball speed with his 3 wood relative to Mark. I wonder if this is b/c his driver has a shorter shaft and would get more speed with a regular length shaft?
Looks great goes great- as you know I bleat on about having a reliable fairway finder- and get a driver that you can bomb
Coach’s first 2 balls lol mega!
I use a Tour Edge CBX, and those are just as small. But it sails and is probably quicker then Cobra.
