it's called learned helplessness, this happens not only with war but also with severe anxiety disorders, your mind faces so much intense negative stress that emotionally you just kind of don't care anymore, like you still have wants but your reaction to things is heavily reduced. it's not about being optimistic really, it's more about caring less because your mind has adapted to the stress so much. you are mentally hardened, which can be both a very good and very bad thing.

I can say when you see a certain level of violence and death a calm comes over you. Where your no longer shocked by it, and even though you can't remove yourself from that situation. Small times of enjoyment can be really appreciated. The genuine gift that is life you become truly appreciative of. It's not detachment from reality, its acceptance of it. The shock and fear of your situation has left you and your inner most warrior is all that remains. Your fight or flight reflexes have kicked in, but you can't use the flight reflex so all that remains is the fight. And in those moments certain small pleasures in life a tasty snack, a picture of loved ones can really be beautiful.

I can say when you see a certain level of violence and death a calm comes over you. Where your no longer shocked by it, and even though you can't remove yourself from that situation. Small times of enjoyment can be really appreciated. The genuine gift that is life you become truly appreciative of. It's not detachment from reality, its acceptance of it. The shock and fear of your situation has left you and your inner most warrior is all that remains. Your fight or flight reflexes have kicked in, but you can't use the flight reflex so all that remains is the fight. And in those moments certain small pleasures in life a tasty snack, a picture of loved ones can really be beautiful.
I think what I'm watching here is that great sense of irony and resolve some of his people are famous for 🤫🤔🤨

My whole day was ruined 3 days ago because someone scratched my car while parking next to it, he is happy because he had an energy bar.
