You need to check out their duet on IU’s Palette, they sang one of her songs and it’s one of the best duets I’ve heard and now we get this masterclass in acting by both of them. This hiatus really showcased what we have been missing about Tae’s talents, with his reality shows and this acting gig. Sadly the ‘no solo work’ policy is fine for the others as they want to do music, but Tae has always wanted to be an actor since the beginning and he can’t act while in BTS because the schedule is too gruelling. He struggled in 2016 with Hwarang and bts concerts and they weren’t as big as they are now. He told us on IU’s Palette that he has been getting lots of scripts but can’t accept them because his album was coming. After military they will be going on a world tour so once again, I’ll have to wait patiently for a time when Tae can do a movie/or drama. I love his voice and musical taste and choices, but he’s made for acting in my opinion.
I haven't watch IUs palette yet but I can tell by listening to her on this song and what Taes voice sounds like they must sound perfect together! I remember watching one of the BTS documentaries and V mentioned how stressed he was doing both. I agree with you! I really hope we see more acting from him. V got me into BTS years ago. He is so stunning but he is also kind, gentle and really funny. IU getting him for this MV was a stroke of genius. He has that air of innocence and vulnerability you don't usually find with many male stars unless they are exceptional actors, which Tae proved to be here. Give IUV their Oscars for this!

What's crazy is that IU had a fever when she recorded this song. The behind-the-scenes footage of her in the recording booth is basically staff telling her they can record it later over and over, but IU just keeps going because she likes how husky her voice sounded. But yeah, she looked practically dead in that booth.
Ahh she's amazing!! Her harmonies were absolutely stunning in this songs. I think the husky voice really gave her a raw vulnerable sound which was perfect for this song. I just LOVED it soo much!

The cubes are trolls/ media. In the MV, she is deaf/mute, he is partially blind - it may seem there is no fathomable way these two can understand each other. This video is dedicated to artists, great Korean idols. The cube represents the Korean music and film industry, where every artist is under threat of social pressure, where one wrong move can ruin their careers, where they can be intimidated by the media and end their lives, living under stress and constant fear. Through the lens of a video camera, artists, idols of many, are beautiful and happy, but in real life they are very vulnerable. The Industry sucks all the juice out of them and then throws them away as if they were old and unnecessary clothes. In South Korea, the big music lobbies have a way of treating artists that is scary. If they see that they are good and successful, they take everything and more out of each of them, becoming ruthless. But when they have been exploited to the point of exhaustion, they leave them aside like broken toys. More than one artist has ended up committing suicide. Everything is very sad. At its end the trolls/ media come to consume another artist and fandom and discard it like a pile of clothes and IU is ready to fight but V (the fans) steps in front of her to defend her and their bond, but they are met with a bitter end. A sad reality every artist must face someday. She sheilds V's good eye to protect him from the inevitable. .😭😭😭😭
Omg the amount of layers this music video has I really hope it gets the recognition it deserves. The message and all the tiny details throughout the entire video is amazing. I've lost count how many times I've rewatched it.
Such a beautiful and emotional video featuring amazing acting and vocals that makes the experience so personal. I really do hope that Tae & IU do other projects together both film and music as they have great chemistry and when he was on her show their voices also blended so well. Also at the end it was pointed out by someone that he can hear what is coming but she can't, while she can see what is coming but she covers his good eye so he can't. Both cry at the same moment though and from the same left eye. Also the right side of his face seems to have burn scars so maybe he had encountered a cube before but got away at the last minute. This cube was relentless in its pursuit and even seemed to change size so it could come into the building. Earlier when it was flying overhead you could tell no way it could fit inside those hallways. I also noticed the cube waits for them to stop fighting and accept their fate. If you notice there are no other people so obviously no person is able to meet the criteria this cube holds that would allow someone to survive. The camcorder that kept showing a better reality, was giving us the viewer a happier version of the events. They both rise in the air together, their bodies still solid, while the reality is that they have been turned to ash. At the top of the camcorder right before it turns off you see ash particles in the air. I also loved how the clothes landed together on the pile. Again all of this symbolizing that even though they seemingly lost to the cube, it couldn't destroy their love for each other. They stayed together in life and death, so indeed their love did win. I can't get enough of this MV, the acting is Oscar level and combined with the award worthy vocals and lyrics it's both heartbreaking but also heartwarming that at least they went together.

There's a sign when they first come in to the place when they find the camcorder that reads " " RISE FOR ALL" ...think thats a social commentary for the oppressors and for state of world , esp. these days. Most missed that sign..cause IU and V are so captivating. lol IU can't speak and V cant see out one eye... cube is like hate/society projections.Maybe we have to start standing up for love and for others discriminated or oppressed? I feel IU and V have seen so much of how South Korea media, police and citizens can cause so much hate, pressure and judgement that people start to commit suicides at times. IU has known least 3 close idol young friends that exp this. Also recently, in headlines. Famous Actor from oscar winning movie "parasite" had recently killed himself due to all the pressure of media police, even though he was found negative in his drug tests. IU was main lead actress to him in a different show called. "My Mister". What an amazing message and masterpiece, truly deserves a Award in every category.

Then one of my coworkers last year was wearing a Map of the soul one sweater and I was like OMG i love BTS! And then a few days later she asked if I'd be interested in listening to Stray Kids. She's also the one who introduced me to ATEEZ. I've been in deep ever since! How'd you get into Kpop? I'd love to hear!
