    That was interesting! It would be cool if you did a video where you show your most inexpensive pieces and evaluate if they are worth it quality wise.

    Wow your expensive pieces are still fairly reasonable in price! Thank you for showing us an example of how an amazing a wardrobe can be without breaking the bank

      Thank you! I think in general I'm a bit cheap 😳 so it applies to lolita in the end too, but I feel like my limits get more flexible every year haha 😭😭

      @@PinkFakeFlowers that’s just called shopping smart~ I’m usually fairly frugal, too, but I’m learning to really embrace budgeting so that I can keep myself financially healthy but also spend on what I love guilt free

    My most expensive piece that I still have in my closet is my commissioned winter coat from Naddine Atelier. I paid equivalent to 450USD for it. It was made exactly to my measurements, I got to choose all the materials myself and I needed it to be warm enough for Swedish winter which in my part of the country is -20 degrees Celsius. I would say it was definitely worth it because no other lolita coat has been either big enough for my size or warm enough for the climate I live in.

      Wow what an amazing buy!! I feel like custom made stuff (as long as it fits and is made as expected) is always worth the price...💖 It's so special to have a completely unique piece and support someone's work!

    Thank you for being transparent about the price of your items, the items that might not have been worth the money can either be worn in new ways or can be sold so you can use the money to buy new items as Lolita items generally keep their value as long as they've been kept in good condition.

    I think my most expensive dresses were my lavender Milky Planet special set JSK and my mint Whimsical Vanilla-chan JSK, both were about $400, and the Milky Planet was totally worth it to me, it's gorgeous, it fits perfectly, and it's in beautiful condition for how old it is, but Whimsical Vanilla-chan... I was so disappointed. I have it in lavender so I was really excited to get the mint especially since the seller said it was in perfect condition, but it came in and the entire back of the dress was faded and since it was from a JP seller there was nothing I could do. I still can't even bring myself to wear it.
    The other thing that was totally not worth what I paid were the Happy Garland OTKs. I got them new and they were the worst, no stretch at all.

      @PinkFakeFlowers  Před 9 měsíci +1

      Aw I'm sorry to hear that about your Vanilla-chan :( Its tough buying from JP second hand sales sometimes because of that risk 😭 my Tiara Rose was similar, even tho it's not too bad, there was more damage than I expected.
      Congrats on the milky Planet find though, that's a great price !! 💖
      Thanks for watching!

    my most exepensive item is still my AP cape i bought brand new at the store in my first year of wearing lolita. it was so insanelly pricey, but it's so cute ans goes with everything !

    I think all my most expensive items are ones I could have made do without. I'm not the smartest shopper. 🙈 It's a good topic to reflect on.

      @PinkFakeFlowers  Před 9 měsíci +1

      It is good to reflect but most expensive items are like that 😳 at the end of the day no one needs a 50$ plastic necklace but sometimes you really want it hahaha. It's hard to know sometimes ! 💖

    my most expensive pieces was meta's happy sewing time in plus size. I love it because it fits me beautifully, which is a definite bonus as most other JSKs that I can fit are clearly into designed to be worn by someone my size or height. the motifs on it (bears, sewing, even spinning) are all things I LOVE and also spinning yarn is a big hobby of mine, and not something you'd usually see in a print. I love the cut and design of it, it honestly feels like it was made for me. Even if I was to leave the fashion this one would stay as an honourable extra, simply because I love it so much. I don't normally buy new, but I could afford this as a one off and I love it so much I have no regrets at all.
    My second most expensive was getting two of the btssb's strawberry loves chocolate skirts, which I could technically fit into individually, but wouldn't fit a petticoat and looked unflattering on its own due to the skirt volume to waist ratio being totally off. I got it twice to frankenskirt the two together, however I haven't had the chance to since I have a mountain of sewing projects to complete and little room to do much on them for the time being, especially as I had to completely put away my sewing setup from one time my upstairs neighbours apartment had a washing machine load draining directly into my ceiling. I love the print though, the colours/strawberry theme fit beautifully into my wardrobe, and I hope to wear it someday, but for the time being I've gotten no use out of it.

    i haven't spent much on individual lolita items, but i do buy lots of little things and the cost stacks up ^^" my most expensive single item thus far is a JSK that cost me about £90 (~$110 USD) but that's mostly because i'm bad at screwing up my courage and making big purchases (which shoots me in the foot all the time because i keep bookmarking things and then pining away for them until they get sold)

      It sometimes is sad to lose out on something you want but knowing your budget and limits is better! If you feel bad about the cost of an item you won't be able to enjoy it anyway. And like you said, all the little pieces of lolita really add up haha.
      Thanks for watching 💖

    My most expensive piece is a 400 USD moi meme motie skirt that I don't ever wear cuz it's both too small on me and I don't have anything that coords with it (I'm a sweet Lolita 😭) I don't regret it completely because its beautiful and is my token goth piece I just need to work on being able to wear it so it doesn't rot in my closet XD

    Milky Bear is so worth it❤ just too cute! I don't really regret any of the things I bought because even the fails taught me something.

      @PinkFakeFlowers  Před 9 měsíci +1

      I totally agree! In the end APs jewelry is so unique it's worth what I paid each time 💖
      And it's true that the fails teach you something. Thankfully with lolita in most cases you can resell even if it's at a loss.

    I think the financial aspect of lolita is very glossed over sadly, like yeah ur are spending money to enjoy the fashion, but it can be hard to gauge what's reasonable when starting out and how to navigate your enthusiasm so your pockets don't come out mangled and you assume that's just apart of the hobby... especially if you don't have the best financial literacy

    • @PinkFakeFlowers
      @PinkFakeFlowers  Před 9 měsíci +1

      I totally agree! A lot of people start out in the hobby young or when they've just gotten a stable income. That's why it's so important to talk about things honestly for me.
      Thanks for watching ! 💖

    My most worth it item is any Leur Getter dress I've purchased, and they are far from being the most expensive items in my wardrobe. Due to their wearability and versatility, they easily make up the majority of my wardrobe now. My least worth it item would be my meta parasol that I've yet to use because lugging around a parasol is a bit inconvenient, and also most of my purchases from Violet Fane because they just don't seem to fit me well at all. I do like the brooches Violet Fane put out, but the JSKs and blouses ended up just being wonky. I have a blouse of theirs I'm hoping to take to a local swap meet soon.

    • @PinkFakeFlowers
      @PinkFakeFlowers  Před 9 měsíci

      Oh I really understand the parasol part! I always end up forgetting umbrellas when I use them so I know I'd lose a parasol. I ended up buying the folding type of parasol that goes in a little bag for that reason exactly 🫣
      Thanks for watching! 💖

    I wanted to support an independent business by buying Gloomth's Dauphine OP for $187 US. I recall the site saying something along the lines that the sizes run larger, but I was truly worried that choosing S would bite me in the bustle. So I chose M... and the dress was comically oversized on me everywhere, except for the very tight elastic sleeve cuffs.
    I gave the dress away to my mom, who calls it her dancing dress. She has never worn it outside of trying it on.
    I also got Imai Kira's Le Chat Angelique OP for ¥22497. I had convinced myself that I could squeeze into the bodice of this dress, but my ribcage won't allow it. I still adore the look of the dress, but I would definitely need to alter it, which means pouring more money into it.
    Both of these were cases of me overestimating and underestimating my size, respectively.

    • @PinkFakeFlowers
      @PinkFakeFlowers  Před 9 měsíci

      Oof I'm sorry to hear that. 😭 It really sucks when the sizing charts are confusing or unreliable. But I hope you can get your Kira Imai dress altered and wear it comfortably 💖💖

    this made me go back and actually update my wardrobe tracker to be all in USD so i could add up all the purchases... frankendresses really bring up the cost of a piece, obviously, and right now topping the charts is ap chandelier at over 800 USD. at least with those i didn't pay it directly, a friend purchased them as a trade for making wedding accessories and another alterations project. but the next one is 676 for the fantasic dolly op in black 🥲 i bought 3 pieces for it because i'll have to remake the sleeves which brought up the price! it'll be worth it when it's finished though

    • @PinkFakeFlowers
      @PinkFakeFlowers  Před 9 měsíci +1

      That's true dedication!! Theres so much money and time that go into the frankendresses, it's pretty amazing once it all comes together!!
