Ninja Nerds!
In this lecture Professor Zach Murphy will be teaching you about the sacral plexus. We go over the various branches of the sacral plexus, what structures are supplied by the those branches and clinical correlations associated with damage to the sacral plexus.
The sacral plexus is a network of nerve fibers that supplies the skin and muscles of the pelvis and lower limb. It is located on the surface of the posterior pelvic wall, anterior to the piriformis muscle.
The plexus is formed by the ventral rami (divisions) of the sacral spinal nerves S1, S2, S3 and S4. It also receives contributions from the lumbar spinal nerves L4 and L5. We hope you enjoy this lecture and be sure to support us below!

it really helped me to understand the topic more clearly ...the explanation was fantastic😊....
you are a great teacher. it does not even bother me, as it usually does, that it's a video and i cannot ask any questions..because I don't have to because you explain everything very thoroughly. it helps a lot that you repeat everything 2-3 times in a row. thank you!

@@NinjaNerdOfficial you are a legend.
Also I like the word mumbo jumbo😂
Awesome video! I have one Gripe. Zero chance of herniation effecting the sciatic nerve below L5 S1 IVD/ L5 Nerve. super common cause of sciatica is it being compressed by a hypertonic piriformis or in a subset of people where it actually runs through the belly of piriformis. Women during pregnancy is a super common time for women to get sciatica also.
I am finally understanding it . Wonderful class!
I wish you great success with your educational channel ! amazing work :)

I would like to know what videos he refers to about the dermatomes, Thanks :)
So both the tibial nerve and posterior cutaneous nerve are supplying the posterior knee, sole of foot, calf and thighs?
Really very helpful ☺️
I think neuroscience is a better title than neurology, thanks Lot
Nice art of teaching

You are AMAZING!
Thank you ❤️
you are AWESOME !!
Amazing channel man keep it up💯💯💯💯👍🏾
Real cool explanation)
Should the hamstrings be innervated by Sciatic nerve instead of Tibial nerve? Thanks!
I think you forgot the nerve to Quadratus Femoris (from the ant div of L4-L5-S1). It supplies QF and GI (inf gemellus)
i was wondering about that too
Doesnt it supplied by lumbar plexus ?i mean the femoral nerve ?
@@someone3164 Quadriceps femoris(the main anterior thigh muscle innervated by the branches of lumbar plexus) is different from Quadratus femoris( a muscle in gluteal region innervated by branches of sacral plexus)
You're right ,, waiting till end for it
Thank you great vid
Just Amazing dube
Thank you so much
Thank you 🌹
Thanks!
28:00 before you get to the ,,last one" im pretty sure you forgot about the n. To Quadratus Femoris coming from L4, L5 and S1. It provides motor innervation to the QF m. and gemellus inferior m.
Amazing video! Thank you for making it all so understandable!
Thank you
thank you
Love you sir❤
Hi ninja nerd. Amazing video. Just one question I have, sciatic nerve before reaching the knee joint level gives motor supply to all hamstrings and adductor Magnus and in knee joint it divides to tibial and CPN.
it varies. sometimes it divides further up in regio femoralis posterior (then nervus tibialis gives motor supply to all muscles in that region + also inervates m. adductor magnus) and sometimes its just like you said.
Amazing
Awesome!
Very good ,
Thanks alot
Nice explanation for beginners who studying anatomy,,,,👏👏👏👏....sir what about nerve to quatratus sir.
Thanks 😊
thank you dude.....................
Thank You so muchh for this.
