I had a huge nest in a red maple tree. Sunday evening, I saturated the entrance hole with jet foam wasp & hornet spray. Did the same Monday evening. By Tuesday morning, they were all dead. I sprayed them once more to make sure, and then removed the nest. Couldn't have been easier.

Great video. Always remember to do removals at night, like this guy said. Hornets use the sun rays to keep warm so when the sun goes down, they will huddle for warmth inside the nest. That’s when you obliterate them with shock n awe.

Wish I watched this before I went out and bought spray. I'm trying to mentally prepare myself for spraying the nest in my shed right now, and I'm kinda scared to do it.

Just got four stings last night, nest in bank of ground beside my garden fence, they are incredible creatures s they started with a small hole into ground about inch diameter and now it's at least 4 inches diameter.I am very sad as I have to get rid of them for my grandchildrens safety.I have huge respect for such hardworking creatures, would love if they could be transferred to a site away from my house.

Dish Soap water and eucalyptus oil of any type. Get a heavy duty sprayer. Mix an ounce or two of each into a gallon, pour into a heavy duty sprayer. Go at NIGHT TIME AFTER DARK! Then spray them as all the wasps Weill be on the nest. Another good time is on rainy days. Wasps can’t fly in the rain well nor do they attack at night. If you’re scared it’ll kill them almost instantly.

Key Takeaway: Do NOT plug up the entry until you're sure the nest is completely dead. Otherwise, the wasps will find another way out creating a bigger problem.

I have a paper wasp nest with about 9 wasps in the family. It's been interesting watching them build, lays eggs, hatch..they dont bother me, aren't aggressive so I let them be.

I suppose it depends on how close the nest is to you. But you're right, if they are not close enough to pose a threat, leave them be. They'll be gone by the autumn anyway.

Not everyone likes killings creatures. How to get rid of nest without harming them is what interests me. Like spraying peppermint spray near or around the nest. Or with ppe clothing scrape nest off in evening and place inside a container of sorts. Relocate somewhere else where you don't go or no-one can get harmed.
